Save yourself time, money & the headache. They claim to be a “Luxury Mid Rise” but it’s FAR from it. Trash lays around for days on end, even though you pay for valet trash, the property is disgusting. There’s absolutely NO security, so don’t believe the lie. Their amenities, which are also paid for, are out of order a majority of the time (pool & BB court). Their gate was broken, no maintenance on the weekend (no one in the office either) and my truck was left on blocks but management doesn’t know how to review security footage because “she’s new” but had the audacity to tell me it was the first time in a year the gates been broken. I moved in in May, front gate has been down twice and the back gate was broken into (chain & padlock) and remained wide open all weekend. No apologies. No empathy. No incident report. DON’T RENT HERE.
Been here over 2 years and I love it. First of all, my apartment is lovely and well laid out with a fantastic Large kitchen and master closet! The property is so well maintained by a friendly and courteous crew who are so attentive to taking care of our home! The office staff are always there to help in any way they can. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home ! They are organized, attentive , hard working and most of all a friendly caring group that have become my friends and an important part of my community family! They are so great at promoting community interaction with their fun and creative “ get togethers” at our beautiful club house. This place has it all, fantastic club house, movie theater, business center, indoor basketball court, gorgeous pool area and a parking garage! You can’t go wrong calling this place Home! Four months ago, having decided to downsize and move to an apartment, we began looking at what was available near my wife's work. I'm a firm believer in researching online reviews, so when I saw what great ratings The Abbey at Grande Oaks was getting, I began the process of checking them out more thoroughly. I looked at both longterm and newer reviews on several social media websites, and the consensus confirmed my initial assessment. I called The Abbey and went through the application process. The application was quickly approved, and the few obstacles that arose were handled seamlessly by the office staff (Kody, the leasing agent, Marlene, the assistant manager, and Vanessa, the manager). We moved into our apartment in mid-June, and after two months I can say that this is the best apartment complex I've ever lived in. The staff truly cares about the comfort and safety of the residents, repairs are done promptly, and the grounds are clean and well-kept. (Our balcony overlooks the pool, and the landscaping looks like a resort.) Our apartment (a 2-bedroom/2 bath) is beautiful, with spacious rooms, high ceilings and lots of storage. The kitchen is large and well-appointed. (The only minor drawback is that there isn't a built-in microwave, so we had to buy our own.) We love the fact that there is a huge multi-level parking garage and two elevators--both of which make life so much easier. Considering everything it has to offer, The Abbey is surprisingly affordable, with move-in specials, basic cable, valet trash pick-up and lower rates for water. (The required monthly amenity fee of around $70 covers the extra perks--which we think are well worth the extra cost.) Another benefit to living here is the convenient location--we are within a 10 minute drive of most of the businesses we frequent, so we rarely have to get on the freeways anymore--what a relief. If you're looking for comfort, convenience and peaceful surroundings at an affordable price, this is the place!
I just started the lease for my 4th year at the Abbey because living here has been awesome. A big part of why my experience has been so great is the staff. If you've lived in a lot of apartments, you know that even if the property is nice, a bad staff can make living somewhere a nightmare; which is why I'm so thankful for Vanessa, Kody and Marlene because they are fantastic. Even back when I first moved here, Vanessa remembered me by name and always treated me really well. And later, when Kody and Marlene started working here, they did the same. Now when I see them, it's like saying hey to old friends. Interacting with them has always been a good experience and I feel like they've done whatever they could to make living here as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Any time I talk to them, I know that I'm going to get the help that I need. The maintenance team is also great and on the rare occasion that I've needed them, they've been punctual, fast, and very friendly. As for the apartments themselves, they are beautiful. I've lived in the "Berkley" (their biggest 2 bedroom) and am now living in the "Ashton" (their smallest 1 bedroom) and both were / are massive apartments with high quality everything. The kitchen is huge, the closet is huge, the bathroom is huge, the balcony is huge, and of course the living / dining and bedroom are huge. There's crown molding, ceiling fans, granite counter tops in the kitchen, bathroom, and on the built in desk. Something I really like is how smart the layout of the apartments are, everything has a good flow and it just makes sense. Also everything is extremely quiet and there's plenty of privacy. Finally, when it comes to amenities, there's a pool, gym, business center, movie theater and basketball court which are all very nice; but the crown jewel is the parking garage. Covered parking is just included with your apartment and you get to drive right up to your floor, which is amazing. I highly recommend living here, the staff is incredible and so is the property!
This place has a great garage, free coffee for mornings while reading a book, basketball court. We choose this place for its location and great service.
I have lived here going on 5 years, I like it here so much. My apartment is beautiful, I love my large kitchen with granite counter tops and large bar, lots of Cherry cabinets with black appliances. Large living and dining room combination. It also has a builtin desk with granite top and lots of builtin lighting for the desk, also has lots of shelves for storage. I have a large beautiful bathroom., again with granite vanities, garden tub and tile. Very large closet in the bathroom area. Washer and Dryer located in the bathroom area as well, just love it Now for my bedroom again very large with doors opening into the bathroom, as well as a door leading to the hall. Lots of crown molding/beautiful doors...just first class.These apartments are three stories with stairs as well as elevators. There is a three story garage that services all wings of the apartment, making it easy for everyone one to park.
We have been living here for a year and a half and absolutely love it! The areas are always nicely clean, the staff are my favorite people! The way the grounds are up kept are impeccable and if there is ever an issue it is resolved immediately. My husband and I have two children; the amenities make it worth the money to live here. A media room for movie nights (child and older ones! Ha!) the pool is wonderful and even has a small area for the kids. I love that we can rent out the clubhouse and use it for parties. Very convenient when you have children. Hire a babysitter, throw a party.....sitter can take kids back to your place and all you have to do is walk home! One of my favorite parts is the covered parking garage! Basically sold me on it, and the fact that each garage level is on your floor! No stairs for me! Thankfully. They also have elevators which is nice. A nice and quiet and safe little neighborhood! Love it! So happy with moving here!!!!!
I've lived here for a year now and can honestly say I've never had an issue since I've been here. The leasing agent was outstanding, I was sad to see her go to another job, even bought her a going away gift, which shows how much of an impact she had on us. She showed us the unit/property as many times as we wanted to make sure we were absolutely positive and comfortable about our decision to move here. The complete staff has been very professional and kind. Every time I go in the front office I'm always surprised that they know who I am and my first name. It makes me feel at home and chatting with neighbors instead of front office personnel. Most if not all of the staff lives on property which is comforting. I love the garage feature (comes in hand on rainy days). It's close to all major highways which is convenient as well as shopping and hospitals. I would recommend this community to anyone who is single or have a small family!!
I thought Linda at Apartments .com was so helpful. I honestly couldn't have found a place in the short time frame I had without her help. She sent both emails and texts. I moved into Hillstone luxury apts. I found it within a week of contacting Linda. I will recommend her to everyone!
The Abbey truly is a home from home. The amenities are very well maintained and clean. The parking is all undercover and always available. The staff are professional, proactive and very pleasing to deal with. Particularily Vanessa & Penny who always friendly and ensure their tenants are satisfied and well looked after. They definitely go the extra mile should you need attention. In general I find the Abbey to be a very comfortable and securre place to call home.
I currently live here. we moved here few months ago, awful desk management. the lady who was there when we came first time already left. they changed 3 front desk employees in 3 months. we were told we can pay online - BUT they didn't say there will be 10 $ charge for every transaction!! they only install very cheap stuff inside the apartments ( very bad door lock, very cheap blinders as well as windows). once we waited for 5 days for maintenance service to come in. 3 of my friends are moving to san antonio and we already convinced them to look somewhere else. upon our move in they wanted to charge us for 5 days for electricity and AC during which the apartment was vacant and in process of preparing it before our move! in summary- expensive apartment, very cheap utilities, awful and unfriendly staff.
Office staff tells you conflicting things depending on who you ask. When I moved in one staff member told me things and then I was told the complete opposite by other staff members a few days later. Gate never works to let guests in. Office staff recommended that I hand wash all my dishes instead of using the dishwasher that comes with the apartment when I asked to have it looked at. Apartment was dirty when I moved in. Visible strands of black hair all over the apartment. Bugs are everywhere. I have gotten to know the pest control service men very well. Truly the most disguisting apartment I have ever lived in. When you look at the apartments and ask typical questions about paying rent, they tell you they accept check and credit cards and you can pay online no problem. They fail to mention the $10 a month charge if you want to pay your rent online. I'm counting down the next few months till I can move out of this place. The Model Apartment is kept up beautifully though.
Great Apartment Community! I have lived here for 2 years and love it. This apartment community has a beautiful resort pool that is always clean and maintained on a daily bases. The community is beautifully landscaped and located in a quiet area near the medical center. The apartments all have the upgraded amenities and for the size are priced lower than other communities in the San Antonio area. The staff are professional and take pride in their community. Definitely worth the trip to come out and tour for your new apartment home.
