Right outside of Fort Worth and only about 45 minutes from Dallas, North Richland Hills is a large suburban community that has developed a local character independent from its larger neighbors. The local schools are excellent, and numerous family-friendly activities make it a terrific option for anyone with children.
In the summer, NRH2O Family Water Park is one of the most popular attractions in town, and hockey games at NYTEX Sports Centre draw big crowds in the colder months. The city has a robust arts community, including the Art in Public Spaces Program which has supported art installations all over the community since 2002. Dozens of different public parks around town give everyone easy access to open-air recreation.

Property Ratings at The Abbey at Hightower
This place is a such a neat place to live. It's in a residential location away from the hustle and bustle of town. Very quite and well kept. Great place to call home.
housing and maintenance are good, but the reckless driving & speeding that take place due to the management not wanting to add or repair speed bumps is terrifying.
I have been at the Abbey since early 2019. Everyone has alwsys worked with me and worked around my schedule and needs. I have never been stranded with any emergency as this fantastic maintenance team is always on top of things literally 24/7. Several times i would run into Roland on my daily walk and address things that need some attention and he would always be on top of it! Joe who is over the maintenance crew is doing an amazing job ensuring all needs are met as well! Both have been fantastic with my pup and befriended him, so even if i couldnt be here,i knew things would be address and my pup was treated so well and got plenty of snuggles! Everyone here goes above and beyond at all times! One day after losing my beloved dog due to age and illness, I received a message from Carol who gave me her condolences. 2 days later I came home to a condolence card on my door with a personal message from everyone who works here! This staff cares so much about their occupants and it truly makes my heart happy! Yall are doing amazing and I appreciate you!
I have lived at the Abbey for over a year, and Ms Carol has always been so helpful. Along with everyone in the office. Anytime something needs to be done, it gets done right away. The apartments are very peaceful, and relaxing. I love calling The Abbey At Hightower my home. I recommend these apartments highly.
I have lived here since 2016 and have been in 3 different apartments (due to roommates) here around the complex. I have never had a bug problem or an issue with management. It's a good area and close to several grocery stores. Maintenance has been pretty quick anytime we have needed them. I think my only complaint is I wish the gate wouldn't break as often. But that happens almost everywhere that has a gate. Overall it's a great complex with a nice community.
bugs bugs every apartment bugs. they excuse everything they do wrong. Run around this staff takes true patience.
Just Sending A Shout Out To The Abbey Hightower For Bringing Friendly Staff And A Beautiful Home For Me And My Family. I Ask That You All Keep Up The Good Work Making This A Place We Can Call HOME.....Michelle Carey
We love this apartment complex! We went from renting a house in Watauga to this complex because it was that much better! The staff are really friendly and helpful. We've put in quite a few requests and they always do as much as they can to help whether it be from resealing some broken seals in the bathroom to fixing sockets to getting our network back in place. Even if they're not sure about it, they always bring someone in to get the job done. Their service is that quick with no questions asked! Their landscape contractors take care of the property pretty well where things are always well trimmed, clean of trash (Some dogs have been leaving surprises from bad owners that'll get caught soon), and green year round. Trash and recycling exists including bags to clean up after pets. The residents here are pretty awesome covering a variety of age groups. The big one is many tenants have been here for a while whether it be saving towards their own house or just because they enjoy it so much that they don't want to move. We've met folks from all over. There's a lot of families with kids all the time playing in the pools or making sand castles in the volley ball court. You'll find a lot of dogs here too that are well taken care of and behaved. The pool is great for the little ones. When one kid goes in usually a few other kids see so a bunch of families will show up to all play together. They also have a nice gym. Safety was a big one for us and we have that now. You'll find folks walking their dogs at different hours of the day and night where they're quite friendly. Cars slow down around residents and take their time. It's a gated community and the covered parking makes quite a difference during large storms. There's someone from the SWAT force that lives on site too! I think the biggest one here is the home feel that it has. Everyone is relaxed and friendly for the most part. The company really strives to take care of everyone and what's great is they don't see it as a job but see it as sort of a family themselves. We checked several luxury apartments and were approved for them but it didn't have the home feel - Much felt like they were trying to impress but weren't home like they were some hotels or something. I highly recommend this place if you get the opportunity to become a resident :)
Without going into the longest detail, I will say this. My lease was up, so I went into the office to talk options. I spoke with Tara, the Assistant Manager about whether I should renew, go month to month or vacate the apartment. I recorded the entire conversation just for an instance like this. I was told to just give my Notice to Vacate. She stated she had similar issues with her Mom as I was having with mine and understood. She said she would bypass charging me the accelerated rent if I did not give a full 60 days notice. Now that I have vacated, months ago, I get a collection agency calling me asking for payment of $1600 . When I asked how that happened they stated I needed to contact the apartment. I spoke with the manager, Denise, who made the following claims: 1. She had a 25 minute conversation with me after I moved out to discuss my carpet 2. She called again to let me know I had charges after move out and my phone was disconnected and 3. She sent me my final account statement. However, I have printed my cell phone bill through 30 days after and 30 days before she claims the call was made and there was no call. I have a statement from my provider showing I have never had my phone disconnected and when I asked her for proof of an email she sent with my final account statement, she said she "did not know where that was". (I guess sent messages delete themselves?). So I have made FOUR attempts to ask for a regional managers number and/or corporate, amongst asking other questions. They will answer those questions, but refuse to give me any contact info for someone above them. I understand the Assistant, Tara, probably promised something she wasn't supposed to and now her and the manager don't want to look bad to their regional, however I should not be blamed for that. We should be able to take what the staff of an apartment says at face value. Instead they are lying and avoiding the situation. I will be contacting the BBB at 6 and have already been in contact with a Property Attorney who, after showing her all of the documentation says I not only have grounds for them to remove every charge (I have video of the carpet above it and pulling it up underneath) but grounds to sue for time and effort spent dealing with this matter. DO NOT LEASE HERE! I have proof of EVERY accusation I have made here.
This specific apartment complex looks nice and appears nice for the money you pay but is no different than living in and lower income complex. First off, the apartment complex allows neighborhood kids in through the summer to the pool. With that being said, the apartment complex recently got vandalized with paint on multiple vehicles and the building. The building and concrete is still needing to be cleaned. They offered nothing for the inconvenience of the vandalism. The manager (Denise) is almost impossible to even deal with. Even when you are told to come to the office to speak to her, she will still advise for your name and number and she will call you back. Tara is rude especially when it comes down to asking if you have a package available. The complex is currently going through an upgrade of appliances and floors (wet areas). Black appliances and faux wood floors with faux wood blinds. Even though the lease was just renewed, this option wasn't offered yet our rent was raised. After inquiring on this, we must wait for the lease to end before that is even offered. There are numerous dogs on this property that are on the "Not Allowed Breed" list. Residents constantly walk dogs off of leashes. Dog fecal matter is in the main courtyard regardless of how many memos the office puts out. The gym has old and used equipment that is nowhere up to date as well as the dumbells that constantly go missing. They just replaced 2 treadmills that are really cheap and not state of the art. The treadmills actually cost $299 at academy. Not all balconies are the same size. The first floor especially is extremely small. All in all, for the money you pay, your better off renting a house in the same area. Management of office staff friendliness can go along way which is where this complex fails. Customer service is the least area they are concerned about. Unfortunately the office does not know the meaning of going above and beyond. This complex can give the arguement that they are always at capacity but if you look around, there are actually no other apartment complexes close by unless you go closer to the highways. BOTTOM LINE, you don't get your monies worth here. There is a fee to pay rent and the security gate remains broke.
I have lived in apartments my whole adult like. I am now 65 years old. That's a lot of apartments. I am currently getting ready to sign my 3rd 14 month lease. The management at this location is superb. Very professional, very friendly, and very knowledgeable. They throw events throughout the year to bring all us tenants together. They solve issues that occur very professional and quickly. Nothing gets put on hold. The maintenance team is the best I've ever seen. I have had to call on several things and the response has always been that same day. They are very knowledgeable of their job and very courteous to others. I have never had this from any other apartment. The apartment setting is beautiful. Very green and management is always driving around to check things out. Trash is very minimal and is picked up very quickly. When I first moved in, I was expecting it not to be cleaned and maintained perfectly. After several of previous apartments, I decided not to get my hopes up. Upon entering, I stood there and said wow to my husband. I have never moved in to an apartment that was this clean. I was so thrilled. The apartments are wonderful and very quiet. I have never been so happy with a place like I am with this apartment setting and the wonderful people that manage it. Thank you for making my life wonderful and I feel like I'm hope for the rest of my life. A big shout out to The Abbey at Hightower in North Richland Hills, Tex. It's my piece of heaven. Jeff and Connie Filipek
As any apartments would, they allow pets. They have typical pet policies but they bend them alot. Such as having pet on a leash. That it hardly followed, especially by people with little dogs. They have a list of dog breeds not allowed that they do not adhere to. If the dog is on the list, they don't care. There is pits, rottweilers, German Shepherds, huskies, malamutes and more, aggressive, large breed dogs here. They truly don't care which is a joke. Let one of those dogs get aggressive and I will sue. Better yet, I'll just carry my gun with me for protection. The neighbors are unruly, loud and not aware of their surroundings. Even if you complain to the office, it never gets fixed. You just get an email saying they will say something otherwise, use the security office which is a police office that rolls through. The management is a joke and never has time for you unless you get along with them. Denise will hardly show her face out of the office and will have Tara or one of the consistently, new apartment reps handle it. For over $1000 a month plus utilities, this place is over rated and over priced. They can't even keep their courtyards clean. The "Strictly Enforced" notes are a joke. It only got 2 stars for it's location to the public schools.
This apartment complex is a step above many I've looked at. It's clean and a quiet community. Perfect for my shift work schedule and safe enough for the single mother. The office staff is friendly and maintenance has never taken more than a day to resolve any issues. I would recommend this community to anyone who inquired!
The Abbey at Hightower is great if you are looking for a quiet area with lower traffic than many other complexes in the area. I have a large one bedroom and has way more room than most apartments I looked at in the same price range. The staff is nice enough, could be a little better on that end. That being said, the staff is still better than most apartments I've lived in. The apartment also has quick access to most major highways of the Ft Worth side of the metroplex.
Best thing about this place is lots of green space and they welcome pets. I'd rate it higher off they'd get the gate fixed and clean up the litter more often. But we like it here. Good value!
My husband and I have lived at The Abbey for over 2 years, leaving is bitter sweet. The only reason we are leaving is we bought a house. All the folks that lived around us were great and it was a nice community. Both my husband and I are in are 50's so we are not young adults and never had and problems. the office staff is excellent, Lindsey and Denise will do all possible to make you feel at home. The maintenance staff also works hard to keep the apartment looking great. We will miss The Abbey
