Some of the finest homes in the South are located in Hoover/Vestavia Hills, and that’s an impressive feat. This trendy Birmingham neighborhood has a little bit of everything, architecturally speaking, from Victorian to contemporary. But that’s not all you’ll love about Hoover/Vestavia Hills, because this neighborhood is also home to fantastic shopping, great parks, and top-rated schools. Riverchase Galleria, a large mall with anchors like Von Maur and Macy’s, is located off Montgomery Highway in Hoover. The popular Brookwood Mall is at the north end of Vestavia Hills, providing even more shopping and dining options. Golfers will find their place at Vestavia Country Club, and hikers will enjoy the nearby Moss Rock Preserve, and those who love art and nature can soak up both at Aldridge Gardens.
Hoover/Vestavia Hills is located about six miles south of Downtown Birmingham, and commuters can reach the city in less than 15 minutes.

Property Ratings at The Abbey At Riverchase
I do not recommend this place AT ALL!!!!! The manager is horrible and rude. Her name is Amber. I've been here since May and my air went out and it took them two weeks to get me a new unit then when It got here it was too big then it took them a month to get me new one. I have had bug issues. The walls are super thin to the point where I can hear the people under me. My stove went out in the middle of me cooking 2 days ago. And the worse part is they charge you to pay your rent online and they do not accept money orders. HORRIBLE DECISION OF MOVING HERE !!
Management is never in the office to answer the phone. Maintenance takes FOREVER to fulfill a work order. They charge you fees for the smallest things (ie cigarette buds, dog poop, etc. ) but can’t respond to a noise complaint. The patrol cars are just parked police vehicles with NO ONE in them. This was the worst year lease I’ve ever signed up for. Stay away! If the overpriced apartments don’t change your mind the roaches will!
The apartment is pretty nice, except there is no storage space. No coat closet, no linen closet, no storage room connected to the balcony. The only closet is the one in your bedroom. It's fairly large, but you have to put all of you stuff in their that is not being used. There are 3 drawers in the kitchen, 2 of which are the small ones and the other is not big enough to put my silverware tray into it. Hardly any counter space either. Some of the staff are friendly, but not all. Also, they fee you to death. It says cable and trash included. That's a lie. You have to pay an additional $50 a month on top of the rent for a "convenience fee". The trash compactor is always overflowing and the cost of your water/sewer is communal, which means the total cost of your water bill is added to your rent and it is a division of all of the units. So, if you are a conservative water user, you will pay the same amount as another neighbor that runs the water all day long. Also, you have to pay a fee when you pay online. Some as much as $25. Very old and outdated air conditioning unit that sits on your balcony. Shotty work put into building. The columns outside are made with mismatched wood and the floors are uneven. Overall not too bad, but I could get a much better apartment with more storage space and not all of the extra fees that pop up all the time.
These apartments have a superb staff and manager like no other!!
I moved in 4/15 and have fallen in love with this place! Two pools, workout center and attentive staff. The complex is kept clean and tidy on a daily basis. Conveniently located to all the shopping and restaurants you would ever want.
Although the rent is slightly higher than average the apartments are very nice. The office staff are extremely helpful and try to accommodate all your needs. The maintenance staff are fast and efficient and the grounds are kept picture perfect. The apartments are quiet as well as the neighbors and although I know I live in an apartment it feels like a house. I would recommend The Abbey at Riverchase to anyone who wants, quiet, quality, security, and convenience to almost any retailer , restaurant, or mall.
After having issues with our original apartment (Water when it rained) we were moved to an apartment that was bigger and at the same rent. We when had issues with the AC in the new unit they eventually replaced the whole AC.
This is the perfect apartment if you are looking for decently spacious living, in the center of town, with lower priced upgrades. Speaking from a one bedroom perspective, the living room and dining room area are larger than most with an open concept. The bedroom is a good average size with a huge walk in closet which unfortunately is where the room for storage ends. The kitchen has upgraded wooden cabinets, counter tops, and appliances; however, there isn't much counter or cabinet space. My suggestion would be to buy a narrow hutch/bloom closet for additional storage. On the other side of the kitchen is sliding doors for a washer and dryer hook up. The bathroom is down the hall which I consider a plus since your guest aren't having to walk through your bedroom to get to the bathroom. The bathroom could use a little more space; however, I don't consider it smaller than usual. I have a nice little patio that I enjoy however I do wish grills were allowed. The management is always polite and are usually able to get repairs scheduled quickly when needed. The overall look of the apartment is really nice inside and out but I do wish some of the upgrades would have been better quality as I don't want to be responsible for wear and tear on things that are simply just cheap. With all pros and cons compared, I would still recommend this apartment as the location is prime (less than a mile from restaurants and shopping), it's very safe, and competitive in rent rates.
So happy I moved here! The location is unbeatable and so close to everything! The office staff is so friendly and the maintenance staff is always on top of their game! The property is under construction but still so quiet! Love the pools and fitness center! I would recommend living here to anyone!
