The Abbot

I love living at the Abbot. This is my first year and I renewed my lease for next year as well. The staff is always so friendly and helpful, and the building community is kind and respectful of quiet hours. Lastly the location is great because it is on Grand River.

I love how nice and clean it is! I always feel so safe and comfortable in my luxury student apartment. I will be renewing my lease and recommend to friends and family

The abbot is a great place to live. It’s right downtown which is very convenient for students. The amenities are great, especially the rooftop. Only thing I would say is it is very expensive and leasing fills up very quickly.

Amenities never work. Hot tub is broken every fall and is closed most of the year anyways. Gym never has proper cleaning equipment which is a health hazard. Their massage bed has been closed for months saying it is just temporary. On top of that I have been in my unit for over a year with the promise of our floors being redone. We moved in to our floors ripped apart being held together with scotch tape. After asking maintenance every time we see them, there has still not been any word on when we will get these fixed.

I love having amenities like the steam room and hot tub, although they’re often closed or broken. Maintenance is always very fast and helpful. It was very difficult for me to find the after-hours support number when I needed help.

I love living here! The environment is amazing and there are always weekly events and activities for residents to participate in. It is easy to feel at home here :)

My Studio Style B apartment is the perfect size for myself, and to host a few friends when I want. The amenities are awesome, and I feel like the building has several measures of security that make me feel safe living on my own.

Such a safe place to live with amazing amenities! It is even better than I had expected. Very satisfied with the resident community and the apartment.

It has been a challenge to get my keys for an apartment that is being released which is very frustrating. Another frustrating point is that the desk is only open until 5.

Best apartment. Amenities were good staff was good. The apartments were well maintained and there was always lots of events going on. Would recommend

Although we have not moved in yet, the process for moving in seems very easy and can't wait to get started. Everything seems so easy and all the people involved are helpful and always respond to my emails. I can't wait for the year to begin with this same type of consideration and on the real move in dates, have a fun experience doing so!

Love the abbot but sometimes feels a little dirty and gym is never cleaned. The wipes need to be refilled more often. But great location right near campus.

It's been great living here, love the amenities and the view. The staff has been amazing and the security guards are super sweet! just wish the hot tub is open.

I am so thrilled to live at the Abbot this upcoming year!! The amenities are so awesome, not to mention the tanning area on the top floor! And the location is top tier!

Great. Wish the hot tub was open but it won’t be for the majority of my stay. The little weekly events are fun. Some weeks have more than others.

Overall experience has been good. The apartment itself is nice however the floors get dirty super fast and dust accumulates rapidly. Definitely something you have to keep up with.

I loved living here. The process was so easy, didn’t have to purchase or move any furniture. Best location possible. The rooftop view is enough to make you want to live there on its own. The staff is always so helpful including maintenance. Everyone is so friendly and I love being a part of this community.

Easy move in process. Good amenities. I like that the gym is open 24/7 and Is not limited as it is in other places. Mail room is accessible and easy to get to. Parking is also good.

Useless community reward system considering there’s a maximum amount of withdrawals for the entire complex regardless of how many points you may have! In other words it doesn't guarantee the ability to redeem your points and is extremely misleading!

Overall, my experience has been good. I enjoy the location of the abbot as it is close to campus and many restaurants. Building is clean overall and staff are friendly. Area for improvement would be better cleaning for the gym/steam room. Additionally, the building is pretty noisy with people frequently screaming down the hallways at night

Plus, the location couldn't be better – nestled in a vibrant neighborhood with great amenities and friendly neighbors, I feel truly connected to the community. Living here has enriched my life in countless ways, and I'm grateful for every moment spent in this wonderful space.

Fun events, surprisingly clean and well kept for being right on the busiest bar strip in East Lansing. The sauna doesn’t always work and, as someone who takes evening classes, I think the hot tub should be open until midnight instead of 10PM.

Walls are paper thin, I can hear my neighbors cough. I also have holes in my floor that were supposed to be fixed, but they have not gotten back to us on them despite asking multiple times. They have been there since move in. There also seems to be troubles with cleaning, as the bathrooms on the 13th floor are always covered in trash and are out of toilet paper/ paper towel.

I cannot wait to live at the abbot next year! The location is so awesome, the apartments are so nice, and the amenities are 10/10! I’m so excited for the steam room!

Decent place to live, and the location is great. Sometimes the amenities are not working but overall good experience. Lots of random people in the building on the weekends though.

Great apartment. Lobby is frequently cleaned, and staff is nice. Signing process is very easy compared to many other apartments in the area.

Signing my lease with two roommates who previously lived in the Abbot was a seamless transition. I appreciate the constant communication of tasks that needed to be completed.

Abbot is conveniently located at a great spot with wonderful security and safety. The amenities are wonderful and the units are very comfortable.

Beautiful apartment complex with amazing amenities. It has the Perfect location and has great staff! The have giveaways often and are extremely helpful.

Apartment itself is decent aside from extremely thin walls (I can hear my neighbors in a separate unit cough) , but there is not enough adequate management at the abbot. I emailed management 3 weeks ago regarding an issue and still haven’t gotten a response. I also have had to request wipes in the gym multiple times and every time they just put a Clorox wipe container in the gym which is used up in just a few days . Because of the lack of cleaning in the gym, when I wipe the bars, the wipes immediately turn brown. Also, my apartment came with torn up vinyl floors, kept together with packaging tape. They have not compensated for this, and said they would be fixing them soon. We have asked multiple times when they will be fixed, but it’s been 3 months since move in with no word.

Love living here for the location, but the structure of the apartment seems cheap. We moved in with a shelf missing and the tiles in the elevator are missing, cracked, and many broken. I do love living here due to the location and view from my living room. I just wish the price would be lower since my room has no window and interior is cheaply built.

The abbot is great! I love the location as it is located close to campus. Also, the amenities are very nice. It can get pretty loud on weekends, but otherwise i’ve had a pretty good experience

The abbot is a great place to live. It has wonderful amenities such as a hot tub, steam room, & gym. It is located in the heart of downtown, & has great residents.

I love my apartment community, the front desk workers are nice and helpful, and the residents are kind. The building staff keep the building very clean and presentable. The atmosphere is so pretty.

Living at the abbot has been great so far this year! The staff is really friendly and was super helpful when I went to go sign another lease for next year.

The best place near msu. Close to campus. Near target and other local restaurants. Would definitely recommend to friends and families who would visit here.

Living at the Abbot has been a great experience. The amenities are great and the staff is very friendly. The rooftop is a great place to study or hang out with friends.

Overall, it has been satisfactory, I have had a couple of issues with maintenance and the hot tub has been cold more often than hot this year.

11/10 The best place to live as a student at Michigan State. The distance to campus and downtown East Lansing is completely unmatched. Would recommend to everybody.

Nicest staff, great views, clean apartments, best amenities. I get compliments everytime someone visits my apartment. Overall there is nothing more I could ask for

The apartment community is very friendly and accommodating. I have never had any issues with anybody since my time living here. The Abbot is always giving out free food and hosting events to keep our apartment engaged.

My third year living at this location, love the building, amenities, front desk and maintenance staff. The modern finishes and regular cleanings make living here in college a dream. Only downside is the high price point and no fixed rent rates for renewals.

Overall, the Abbot is very clean and well furnished. There are lots of storage places in the furniture that comes in the apartment. They have a hot tub but it hasn’t been on and warm since I move in which is a bummer. The lounge is really nice as well. They also host events to help you get to know your neighbors which is great!

We love The Abbot and all the great amenities! Me and my roommate have had an amazing experience here and are now going on year 2 of living here!

My room is perfect, great natural light. My microwave broke and maintenance fixed it within 2 hours of me sending a request. Only complaints are the floors show dirt easily and the hot tub isn’t always hot.

I like the location of the abbot and how nice and modern the apartments look. There is so much natural light that flows through our apartment and I really enjoy the view with being up on the tenth floor. Also, I really enjoy all the treats the staff brings and the awards and raffles there are!

the resident experience has so far proven to be quite fun. It has made me excited for the school year and I love the little things the abbot does for us like getting insomnia cookies for us.
