Property Ratings at The Adele
My husband and I lived in The Adele since the year of opening and enjoyed every day of it! We had a beautiful and very spacious 1 bedroom and moved out only because I got a promotion and we had to move to California. I just recommended the building to my friend and was shocked to hear that the building has bad reviews here so I am more than happy to share my experience. To be honest, none of the issues mentioned in other reviews seem realistic to me. I think almost 5 years spent there is enough to have a strong opinion and disagree with those guys. Windows are great and they block all the noise from outside and of course I never had a mold problem! I met several high schoolers on the amenities (rooftop and lounge room) but don't see how this is a problem. The management is amazing and I really felt like home there. Definitely renting there again if I ever move back to NYC
High schoolers run amok in this building and building does nothing about it.
I lived in the Adele for two years and was just forced to move out due to a mold issue that was discovered and was creating substantial health issues for me. Through inspections, it was found that large amounts of harmful molds were found in the washing machine, HVAC units and return vents. The inspection report recommended that since this mold was found in the HVAC and return vents that the entire building's HVAC system should be thoroughly cleaned. Also, there is visible water damage in the window sills in both the apartment I was living in as well as the window sills in the hallway. These are also likely places for mold. Management has known of this issue and has yet to make any moves to alert tenants or to make proper remediations.
I currently live at the Adele, and the windows are very poorly constructed. So much so that in the winter/summer it feels like i am living outside. the wood floors are poorly constructed and are already coming apart.
