Property Ratings at The Admiralty
This is our third year at the Admiralty and we hope to be here for many years to come. The Admiralty is located in the heart of Marina del Rey within walking distance of a variety of restaurants and shops including Cheesecake Factory, Tony P’s, the Whaler and very good Thai and Mexican restaurants. Traders Joe’s and Ralph’s are a short ride (or a long walk) away. It is also a very short walk to Mother’s Beach, the ocean and the Venice Beach boardwalk. We have been in several buildings in the area and this is the best of them by a long shot. For the most part, this is due to the staff here at the Admiralty. Morgan, the manager and Mayra, the assistant manager could not be more helpful. If we have a problem, we know they will make sure it is taken care as quickly and efficiently as possible. Suzy, the concierge, is also amazing. She is a wealth of information about the area (restaurants, shopping, things to do etc.). She has organized Friday evening Happy Hours and pot luck meals, movie nights and holiday parties. She even sings and plays keyboard at these functions! You will not be sorry if you decide to rent an apartment here at the Admiralty. It is a great place to live with lovely, friendly neighbors and a terrific staff.
I just renewed my lease again because Admiralty Apartments offer quality construction, terrific floor plans, fantastic amenities, and excellent security. We lived in a nearby apartment complex that seemed to be running down, so we checked out Admiralty. One look made it easy to decide to move. Our unit is spacious with an intelligent floor plan that uses space efficiently. The bathroom offers two sinks, the kitchen offers top-quality appliances, and the washer and dryers are both large-capacity machines. The facility provides around-the-clock security with secure, gated parking with assigned parking places included in the rent. A large fitness room not only offers a wide variety of fitness machines but also hosts a dry sauna, steam room and shower rooms. Apartments are sound-insulated; I have never heard noise from an adjoining apartment. The heated pool is ideal for swimming laps while the jacuzzi holds up to 18 people--huge for a jacuzzi. This would be a very long review if I mentioned everything, but I want to add that the weekly hosted Happy Hours help residents make new friends while being the perfect end for a typical work week.
During the month of June, my wife and I rented a two-room apartment at the Admiralty that was spacious, clean, and nicely furnished. We enjoyed the unit along with amenities such as the outdoor pool, recreation room, exercise facility, and office. We also appreciated staff that was helpful and friendly (kudos, in particular, to Pam and Suzy). Staying at the Admiralty puts one in close proximity to the water (the marina, the ocean, and Mother’s Beach), a number of paths for biking/walking, and some nice shopping centers. Considering the above, it may come as no surprise that we decided to rent for an extended period and look forward to moving in next month.
The Admiralty Apartments is a truly incredible place to live. My husband and I lived here for 3 years before relocating for work. We absolutely loved our time at the Admiralty. The leasing office was always very professional and friendly. Suzy at the front desk goes above and beyond to plan lovely social gatherings weekly and the holiday parties and BBQs. The maintenance crew works very quickly to resolve any issues you may have (which over three years I may have filed a few simple requests, all completed within 48 hours, most of the time completed in about 8 hours). The Admiralty is in a perfect location to walk to the beach, Venice, Santa Monica, and lots of shops and restaurants. The building is always very clean and residents are friendly. I highly recommend living at the Admiralty, and miss it already!
I moved out a couple years ago. The staff are like a bunch of mean girls. If Morgan is still the manager stay away. I was gone in Hawaii and they towed my car away from my parking space claiming they had no idea it was my parking space. Um okay? Everything is an issue with them. Tenants should be seen never heard. It's very sad what a mess this place is because of management. They act as if they are running an old people's home. There is a rule for everything and everything is a problem. The location is great, the apartments are nice, I just wouldn't bother dealing with these people. Don't let the mimosa Sunday brunch fool you or the Friday night movie... this isn't a cool fun place in the marina. These are activities meant to echo a retirement home (and they treat you as such...) they will even treat your visitors like crap and make sure you know they disapprove of people entering the building at any time past 8... pools and jacuzzi close incredibly early. If you are not of retirement age this is a total nightmare.... (and I am not a big partier, etc...its very extreme)
My wife and I have lived here for over 5 years. We have decided that we no longer will own a home. Our children are grown and apartment living is perfect for us. I am 75 and when something needs fixing I simply call the maintenance staff who is there in minutes to help. Keeping my life as simple as possible. We have all the amenities and a block from the beach. Shopping is close. The management of the building is always asking us if everything is ok. Movies very Friday night. We couldn't be happier. This location is exactly where you want to be!!! It takes only minutes to walk to the beach, local bars and the Venice Canals. Far enough off the beaten path to avoid traffic and close enough to get you to LAX and the 405 quickly. Community events are posted weekly in elevators by our wonderfully quirky concierge and great group of neighbors meet every Friday night in our movie theater.. YES, a movie theater! Did I mention the free glass of wine? or the pool table? how about the gym next to the sauna? hot tub?
This apartment is great, location is great. Wish the jacuzzi was open later; bike lockers are a disaster!
