Property Ratings at The Alamitos
I’ve love here almost a year and cannot wait to move. As previous posted have written, management is terrible and has been since I moved in. Only one person was ever helpful and he is now gone. Things here break for months without any resolve. Elevators have been down several times and the last time it was over 2 and a half weeks, stairs being the only option to go up. Parcel pending lockers broke for 4 months and people will steal packages left in mailroom or your front door. They won’t offer anything to reconcile with their terrible problem solving to lack of amenities being offered per the lease. Doesn’t seem like it’s getting any better with constant management changes.

UPDATE. (I've been here almost 3 years... it's gone from great to a total disaster. Reviews are for current management.) Don't move here. Staff are here 1-2 days a week. If you need something outside of that you're out of luck. Phones do not get answered. The manager is the only person who can help with leases (or actually most things and he works at all 3 of the apartment complexes that Harbor manages in Long Beach. I've been trying for weeks to get an issue resolved and it's been impossible to do so. Package lockers are broken for months at a time (this is the second time they're broken for MONTHS.) Packages are constantly stolen. You can't get anything sent here because it will get stolen. This is a huge issue since I work from home and need to get packages for my job. We should have a safe and secure package locker system. Gym equipment broken for MONTHS at a time. Currently 2/5 treadmills broken (it was 3/5 broken for 4 months) 2/2 bikes broken. You can't use the restrooms at the gym because they are locked unless you're management. When I moved in those restrooms were accessible to residents; this seems like a necessity for people who use the gym. You used to be able to buzz guests into the garage but you can't do that anymore either. It's just really challenging to live here. Keeping 2 stars because I still like the design of the apartment. I would want to stay here if the rest of the building wasn't such a disaster.

We apologize that your experience with our community has been anything less than exceptional. Our team is committed to providing stellar service to all who walk through our doors and we are sorry to learn that we fell short of your expectations. We urge you to give us a call or stop by our office at your convenience so we can discuss how we can improve your time here.
Absolutely horrible living experience. Previous owners (SaresRegis) did nothing to fix anything and current owners (Harbor Group Management) is even worse. We have 2 elevators - 1 of which has been broken continuously and without repairs for over 3 months. There is constantly cigarette butts and black and mild tips everywhere. They say they are dog friendly but they actually hate all dogs. They refuse to fix broken TVs, lights in common areas, and clean up the property. The front door has been broken for months which allows homeless to infiltrate the property on a nightly basis.

Poorly managed, the amenity spaces haven’t worked for several months, multiple car break ins on a weekly basis because there’s no security nor does the leasing office do anything to improve security. Besides that leasing agents are rude and never in the office.
No responses, no cameras, break ins, packages/storage space/bikes stolen
The location is near a fire department that has frequent action. Police are also around morning, noon and night and their sirens come with them. There is a gas station where people like to play their music loud, or just in general drive down Alamitos blasting music or motocycles revving motors. The residence is okay, building is up to date, but amenities are commonly not working. Management seems to not care or acknowledge the problems you raise.
Gosh, I can’t say enough about Kim and the team. I felt like I messed up almost all the paperwork, documents, and insurance required to move in. They were responsive and helpful each time. So far we have loved our apartment, the safety/security of the building and the location. You can’t beat being a few blocks from the beach, bars and restaurants. If it keeps going so well we definitely see ourselves here for a while. Keep up the great work y’all
