Property Ratings at The Alcove Apartments
Since moving in, there has been issue after issue after issue. The A/c unit in closet leaks weekly and mildew odor near restroom cabinet due to leak under sink. A small brown water stain was reported 3 months ago and multiple times thereafter prior to the ceiling collapsing. As a result, mold accumulated. Refusal to discount rent or transfer to another unit was given, only a suggestion of using model apartment during repairs. They "complete" service requests in system that haven't been done, only to create a new one with same info.

Please do yourself a favor and stay away from these poor POOR apts. The crime rate is very high. Upon 1st moving in, there was a break in every month. Roaches are horrible, no pest control comes AT ALL, EVER! In the summer, the units are so old and under-insolated to where your home will never get lower that 78-80 degrees even though its set to 73-75.. My light bill was $261 each month because of this. There are missing floor boards under the carpet throughout the unit. Rent is an extra 20+ dollars to pay online. My refrigerator went out on me 4 months in a row. The apt manager never made an effort to change it out. Their excuse was they didn't have a truck to transport other used refrigerators from sister properties, so I had to wait meanwhile Im repaying for groceries 4 months in a row. How is it that a complex does not have the necessary things such as a maintenance truck, to get a job done? Then when they finally switched it out, it was FILTHY with old food smears everywhere! Worst renters experience of my LIFE! Almost broke my lease because of this. CANT WAIT TO MOVE!
Ive lived in this apartments for about 2 years now. When i first moved i asked them if they could change my fridge because it had broken pieces and it was falling apart. The sealing around the fridge door was coming off and you could see dead roaches inside it. They never changed it. I had to invest in a reusable mice trap because i have mice even in my bedroom! It’s ridiculous. My apartment is always clean since im at work most of the time. And i dont even enjoy cookin because roaches will crawl on the kitchen cealing and sometimes fall in the food. So disgusting!! Infested with roaches and mice and dont bother asking for pest control it’s useless. And if you want to pay rent online is an extra charge of 20 something dollars. Very inconvenient. If you can afford something better go for it, cause youll wish you never rented here. So glad my lease is up soon.
Hello I wish I never reside at Alcove Apartment the maintenance and Serives is not greatly appreciated most of the view that on the website are true. Also the I'm very disappointed in the way the system works for rent you pay online they charge you a arm and a leg to pay online the office is not open on Sunday so you have to pay your rent on any day before Saturday before closing time so if you have to work you bad. But I brought my rent to the office on Monday morning at 9.30a.m. office open at 9a there others tenant that brought their rent and put it in the office door before 9:00a Monday so they don't get an late fee but I do late fee is too much 75 dollar and 10 dollar after but all the tenants that have they money order through the door should get a late fee as well mines money order is stamp before the 4th of the month as well but just because you guys don't open on Sunday and I came right when the office open I have to pay a late fee not good customer service to me my opinion.
Don't move here it's roaches pool dirty all year no security officers horrible interstate it's jus a horrible place to live, they use cheap paint on their tubs and walls jus nasty
It's all good... Pool is only open when they want to open it, it's quiet with over night security. I only been here less than a year but we have pest control and trash pick up every day from the door. I hate that they don't tell residents when they have packages in the office but whatever. But I plan on signing another year and pray for the best God can give me
This complex has gone downhill from three years ago when i moved in. There have been gunshots, multiple break-ins in the past month alone, and no one does anytihng about it. I now have also have roaches and I am fed up. I am moving as soon as I can!
I love my apartment complex. The managers take pride in the appearance by having yard work done every week. There's a valet trash service offered, pest control done, work orders are always taken care of in a timely manner and the managerial staff takes pride in taking care of their residents. I've just signed my 3rd lease! The ONLY drawback is the fact that I don't have a unit with a W/D unit inside so I have to either use the laundry room in the apartments or go to a public one.
When I found The Alcove I was very satisfied with the customer service skills of the people in the office and the property looked fairly decent. The prices were a little higher than I thought necessary for such and old complex, but I chose to try them out anyway. So I did everything necessary to get my apartment in March being told that my apartment would be ready April 18th. April 11th I was told that the apartment would not be ready until the 25th because the manager had gone into the apartment and found things that she wanted corrected before I moved in. I said "Ok that's fine." I did not move into my apartment until May 4th. After waiting over a month for the apartment to be ready, I expected a perfect place. I had been told that the apartment was a "rehab unit" and would be getting everything brand new. Counter tops, carpet, paint...etc. The only thing that looked new was the carpet. My counter tops were the same as they were when I had been shown the apartment. There were holes in the walls around the apartment, I had to ask to have the bathtub resurfaced. I was very unhappy with the apartment that I had waited so long for. Then in the first 2 weeks of me being there, I witnessed police in my area of the apartments 3 times for different crimes; someone broke into a car, someone attempted to break into a ladies apartment, someone had there car broken into... Smh I was so freaked out. Also I had to pay a first time renter's fee because my old apartment complex had switched management so they no longer had my records. I provided the records to the complex and have yet to be refunded my fee after one of the office associates said that she would look into what they could do. I have heard nothing back on the matter. I had to put in multiple work orders to get the doors for both of my rooms fixed, they both would not close correctly for weeks. All in all. I can not wait for this lease to be up!!
These apartments are okay. They are very old, please do not let the outside or model unit fool you. The flooring is very uneven and sometimes shifts, mind you I live on the second floor so it can be nerve racking at times. The appliances, carpet , and cabinets are quite dated and started falling apart right after we moved in. This place is ok if you are looking for a temporary residence (6 months or less) but no good for long term. At first it was a quiet clean neighborhood, but lately the new people moving in, particularly my neighbors, are very loud at all hour of the night, including little children running and screaming around at midnight, and have trash all on their patio which in turn has increased the amount of roaches everywhere. Also the level of criminal incidents have increased substantially the last few months. I'm so grateful my family and I will be moving next month.
Great apartments. Gated community, very quiet. Always got things fixed the same day. Very clean and well mantained apartemnts. Loved living there. I would reccomend to everyone.
This place is gated, if any one of the gates are broken, they quickly fix it. The pool is kept clean most of the time. Parking spots are available but not always close to your apartment. There is 24 hr security services. The bathtubs are definitely not luxurious or clean looking but livable. The worst complaint is that it is invested with roaches.
The management is honorable they take to long to fix anything in your apartment and then want you to pay on time ask them to come fix my tub still wait air vents I can't close because they are old and because the paint dry up thought the point of times, missing the handle on my refrigerator been sent a fix form but still have fix my washer and dry door came of and almost hit my son had to fix myself was waiting but I'm glad to be moving in October but still haven't found a place yet because I work two jobs but still looking.
When I took a tour of the apartment, everything seemed so great! The demo apartment is decorated so wonderfully and I love the idea of living in a small complex, until I actually moved there. I didn't keep in mind that the apartment are next to the railroad, which hearing it didn't bother me much, but it's not so great with a newborn. The traffic is HORRIBLE trying to leave and go into the apartment; you're literally sitting there waiting forever just to cross the intersection. Parking is HORRIBLE in the complex; your best bet is to find a good spot and stay there, or come in early enough to get a half decent spot. The parking spots are quite small and some of the residents have no idea how to park properly. As far as pest, there are roaches, and I don't know what happened to pest control. I do not plan to renew my lease, because the location isn't so great, and I'm sure I can find better.
I have been at these apartments for a couple of months now and i feel as though i have made a great decision on living at The Alcove. The Staff is all about business and care about the residents. I am loving the new upgrades that they are establishing here and to top it off, the have an officer during the day and two officers at night patrolling the premisses. Safety is a main factor in my life seeing as though i am a single parent and none of the other surrounding apartments dont have this especially with working operating gates. I am one of most that is a very happy camper, and would reccommend these apts to anyone.
