The Alcove of Turpin Hills

DO NOT BE FOOLED with the pictures on their site. They own the Alcove of Turpin Hills. the complex is a dump that they slapped gray paint on the walls and put some granite countertops to make it appear luxury. Since moving in 4 months ago there has been nothing but problems in the unit. Starting with the nasty refrigerator that was not cleaned before turning over the apartment. it was filthy under an apart that could not be removed to be cleaned. 3 weeks into living there I had mice in my apartment, Candy the leasing manager stated to me "I didn't know they could get up to the 3rd floor." They attempted to blame the mice issue on the people who had been doing some underground work at the complex. I spoke with my next-door neighbor who stated this was untrue because he had mice in his apartment in the past which at the time there was no underground digging. I had to pay for an outside exterminator who discover 11different whole and entry points for mice to get in, there was mice/rat droppings in behind the stove which had been there before I moved in. The apartment complex controls the heat and on 3 different occasion I have awakened in puddles of sweat because the furnace was stuck at a temp of 86 degrees although it is freezing outside. Week two after moving in my refrigerator stopped working and all my food spoiled. All I have been met with is Bella the lady in the leasing office as well, looking at me like a deer in headlight when I went to the office for answers and solutions. I asked to be let out of my lease after the mice incident and was told I would have to pay 3 months rent before being considered. I hadn't been there a month yet. The Alcove is a dump and please don't be fooled with the aesthetics of the unit.

WORST!!! Stay Away at all costs!!! Filthy upon move-in, faulty installation, loud, dog poop everywhere, dirty laundry rooms, ridiculously understaffed, irresponsive management , only Heat or AC (Can't Adjust Manually).. I could go on... The real kicker is that when a tenant moves out, they immediately hire workers to begin construction on that unit..this can take 2 to 3 weeks in my experience to the point where it becomes virtually uninhabitable. And if you have a night job, you can forget about sleep.

Woods of Turpin has been a great place to live on a very reasonable price

As usual office staff and maintenance down a person they still offer first rate service. I have been here coming up on 10 years. A lot of staff have come through here. The current staff is the best yet.

The woods of Turpin is very quite and the outside is well taken care of. Everyone is very friendly .

Absolutely horrible. Bugs and roaches infestation, mold, place is falling apart, ceiling caved in, staff took forever to fix things. Egress issues and structures are not stable. Just an absolute horrible place to live. Would not recommend for anyone!

The staff are excellent in responding to maintenance and any other concerns I have they are very personable friendly professional and very efficient

I am very happy that we moved here. Everyone is very friendly, and the staff is amazing.I have already told a few people I know this is a very good place to live. I feel safe here, and that's important to me. I also see a few kids around here. I wish they had somewhere to play. That's the only thing that's missing here is somewhere that they could play ,and not in the driveway. I worry for there safety. Other than that I love it here it's amazing.

Nice place to live. Very quiet wooded area, see deer a lot. Office and maintenance personnel are very friendly and helpful. Been here 10 years come February 22.

Beautiful, secluded community close to everything in Mount Washington, but far enough away to keep quiet.

Ive been living here for a year and I couldnt be happier with the apartment or the staff, the friendliness and comfort really makes it feel like a home and I recommend Woods of Turpin to anybody looking to move to a new place!

I have lived at The Woods of Turpin for over 10 years and have never had any issues at all. Location and value was my primary reason for choosing The Woods of Turpin with a 2 bedroom apartment then downsizing to a 1 bedroom. Being centrally located to everything I want and need along with continually enjoying my surroundings I will continue to reside here. I highly recommend The Woods of Turpin. Bobbi T.

Friendliness of the staff makes living here very nice.

It's a good place to live. I feel secluded in nature enough, but not too much. Have always felt safe. Management has always been friendly and helpful. And it's a solid apartment.

This is my first apartment and I honestly have nothing but great things to say about it! The quiet but friendly neighborhood welcomed me and the leasing staff was amazing to work with. I am absolutely in love with my new apartment and highly recommend this hidden gem to everyone!

The Woods of Turpin is a safe convenient place to live, surrounded by trees and an animal-loving community.

Cozy apartment and a great location. The staff is great, any problems we've had they've been quick to handle. It feels like some of the renovations were a little rushed, but we haven't encountered any serious problems from it. Good place to live.

I been living here for 6 months and it's very hard to get anything fixed. They don't call back and act as if it's not a priority. I would not recommend this place.

This is a nice place, nice neighborhood, I moved a year ago and I recommend for everyone who search for a calm place to live. Nice clubhouse and good pool.

I have lived at The Woods of Turpin now for a year and am about to sign my new lease for this upcoming year. I must say that from the beginning, the staff has been nothing but kind and helpful. Jesse has been right on top of anything I've ever asked about or needed. The maintenance staff has been swift in coming to take care of or take a look at anything that I've asked about and are very good when I've had questions or concerns. It is an older place but to be honest, I just love it. I absolutely love when the staff has special nights or events at the clubhouse. They've done everything from yard sales, dog mobile grooming truck with hot dogs, movie nights, pool parties, wine tastings and more! They have a door decorating contest for Christmas with great prizes and offer a big check if you recommend the complex to someone who ends up signing a lease. I know that no complex is ever perfect. Maybe the buildings are older and maybe have a little wear and tear that's happened over time...but the staff has really made efforts to make it charming and safe and even fun! My neighbors are friendly, they keep the grounds clean and I feel safe walking around even when it is dark. Also, when it's icy outside...I always notice that the staff sprinkles rock salt on the walkways and steps leading out to the parking lot area from all of the buildings. To me...all of those efforts make such a difference and I am proud to call Woods of Turpin my home.

Steve and I have lived here for almost two months now and we absolutely LOVE it! Maintenance responds quickly if you have an issue and the staff Jesse and Ray are so friendly and welcoming. I love how they have monthly events for the community to get involved. It makes you feel right at home :) we are planning to stay here a long time.

Love my apartment! If you have a problem the staff will fix / help you very quickly. I feel very safe here as well. And there's a pool, which is always a plus!

I do like my apartment but I am looking for a new place. We have been here for two years and my husband and I think it is time for a change. We have been looking for a new place for about six months. Our apartment would be great for someone who has a family or even a single person but just not for us.

I REALLY LIKE MY APT. IF A PROBLEM NEEDS ATTENTION, MAINTENANCE IS VERY QUICK TO RESPOND. THEY KEEP THE PROPERTY CLEAN AND NEAT. I AM VERY COMFORTABLE HERE. I LIVE ALONE AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS. there ARE A FEW YOUNG MEN LIVING IN MY BUILDING AND THEY HAVE FREQUENTLY OFFERED TO HELP ME TAKE MY GARBAGE TO DUMPSTER, CARRY THINGS UP TO MY APT DOOR AND SAY IF I NEEDED ANY HELP TO CALL THEM. THE OFFICE PERSONNEL ARE ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND WILLING TO HELP, IE-THEY OFFERED TO HAVE SOMEONE TO COME TO MY APT AND PICK UP MY RENT AS I HAVE MEDICAL PROBLEMS AND CANNOT WALK TO THE OFFICE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS VERY CLOSE TO MY APT. IF I HAD ANY COMPLAINTS, IT WOULD BE THE MOVING OF THE LAUNDRY ROOM TO ANOTHER BUILDING. I NOW RELY ON MY DAUG-IN=LAW HELP ME. I ALSO WISH THEY HAD A GROUND FLOOR APT, THEIR 1ST FLOOR APTS ARE UNDERDROUND. YOU NEED TO WALK STEPS FOR ANY APT. AS I SAID BEFORE, I AM VERY HAPPY HERE. IF I SHOULD MOVE, IT IS BECAUSE I FOUND AN APT ON GROUND FLOOR. THANK YOU
