Located in west central Missouri, Warrensburg is known as the “Home of Man’s Best Friend” since the phrase was coined during a court trial in 1870 over a slain local dog named Old Drum. Warrensburg honors the legend of Old Drum with a statue in front of the Warrensburg courthouse as well as the Old Drum Dog Fest, which celebrates dogs and their best friends.
Home to the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg offers residents a blend of big-city culture and small-town comfort. A host of beautiful parks, award-winning restaurants, unique shopping experiences, and a thriving historic downtown provides Warrensburg residents with a wide variety of things to do in town. Access to U.S. 50 and an Amtrak station allows for simple commutes and travels from Warrensburg. The hustle and bustle of Kansas City is just an hour’s drive away as well.

Property Ratings at The Annex of Warrensburg
These apartments look super pretty when you first move in but unless you plan on never being home/ quite literally only sleeping there they are poorly built. All the furniture is cheap and will break if you have any weight to you plus they won't come and fix anything at all. There is also zero soundproofing so you can hear everyone outside their apartments. Please Do not be fooled by the appearance this is the worst apartment I have lived at.

My apartment had bugs/ roaches in the kitchen for 3 months. After repeatedly going in to complain, the bugs still continued to be an issue. Also had issues with our dishwasher multiple times and were unable to use it for a couple months due to no one coming to fix it. Do not recommend this place to anyone.

Don’t let the appearance of these apartments fool you! My daughter lived in the Annex for two years, worst experience we have ever had! For starters someone broke into her apartment before she even moved in and trashed the place. How management wasn’t aware of this still have no idea to this day, speaking of management extremely unprofessional and could care less about any issues you bring to their attention. Also her apartment flooded two times during her stay, black mold was growing even after several complaints were made and it took weeks before anything was fixed/replaced. When moving out management won’t do a walk through, so be super careful they will stick you with a large bill in the end even if you’re in a four roomed apartment. I could go on and on about all the problems she encountered so giving 1 star is being extremely generous when they don’t deserve any!!! This apartment complex is located in a college town, still not an excuse to treat tenants like crap just because they’re mostly made up of College students.

I lived here for two years while I was a student. The first year was rocky with management but all of that changed when Granite Student Living took charge. The management is super nice and they listen and respond to you in a timely manner. It is pretty expensive but there is a lot of perks to living at Annex like the convenience of how close it is to campus and the complex amenities. I was never overly amazed by Annex but it did the job and was exactly what I needed. No complaints!
Easily the nicest complex in town for students, and extremely military friendly. The entire staff is very helpful, and I love being able to have access to the clubhouse 24 hours a day. My favorite thing is definitely the location. I literally can walk right across the street to class!
Despite some of the previous reviews, I have had nothing but a wonderful experience with this company, staff, and making this my new home. I recently was informed of a new management team taking over here, and it has brought nothing but positive changes to this entire complex. The new Annex team is incredibly friendly and helpful, and definitely experienced in what they're doing to help solve your issues quickly and efficiently. On top of that, I love living in a newly updated apartment with my own private bathroom. The location is great (literally steps away from campus!), the style is new, and overall I am excited to see the difference a new team can make to this place!
Everything about this place is a mistake. Management sucks, they’re rude and lie to your face. If you live here make sure everything is documented over email or written down. Even their corporate is trash, I explained how I wasn’t comfortable living there because their was potentially mold in my room from my apartment flooding 3 times from rain (been open less than 2 years) and they told me I had to hire a company to see if there was mold and if so then they would pay me back for it... instead of taking care of it themselves. My room was built without an A/C unit so they had to manually build one in my room and maintenance would come in whenever and trash the place, leave lights on, and leave the front door unlocked. The parking is TERRIBLE, expect to get your door dinged or just hit, I watched a guy try to park full on rammed into an SUV then just left. Also, the gym is pathetic.
Annex is 100% unfair in how they run things. They will charge you for crazy things after your lease is up
The staff does not respond in a timely fashion to emails or phone calls. Honestly you are lucky if you get a call or email back. Maintenance is a similar ordeal. We put in a work order to have a light replaced, the guy came a couple days later, looked at the light, then left, and never came back. Over a week later they finally came back to switch out the light (after my roommate called and chewed them out). If you want to live here you will have to get used to walking across the parking lot since there never seems to be any space available next to your building. While on the topic of parking spaces, you not own an SUV or a truck because the spaces they had sprayed were the bare minimum size. In my truck (standard Silverado 1500) if I park right down the middle of a space, I have roughly six inches of space on either side the vehicle before I'm in the next space. The rooms look nice in the pictures and if you stood in the room and just gave a glance around you would say it looks good, but after looking around hard at the details you'll see that construction was rushed to get people in by the time UCM classes started and little mistakes were made. For example, one of the cabinet doors was slightly crooked, some of the trim along the bottom of the wall was not completed, and if you looked at the island in the kitchen, you could see there was a slight bow on the counter top. All which could have been prevented if things were done properly and not rushed. The grounds weren't too bad, but when I moved in the landscaping was still taking place, thus I was looking at a straw packed on the ground for most to my time there. This place is pet friendly, and college kids have the tendency to not pick up after their pets, so watch your step. If I have anything nice to say about the place is that it isn't a far walk to the UCM library and the staff does put on random events that get the residents socializing so you can meet your neighbors. They also have a nice leasing office with a small workout area that is convenient. I am sure that the pool is nice, but they didn't get it finished until I think May, and I was on my way out by then so I cannot speak from experience on that one.
