Property Ratings at The Apartments at Aberdeen Station
Don't even bother coming here. We've lived here for 4 years and for 4 years there's been a terrible parking issue- they've "been working on it," and nothing has been done. If you have more than one car you cant park. if you want to have people over, there's no parking. Six buildings and two rows of visitor spots, which tenants with two cars have to use and shuffle around because you're not allowed to be in a spot more than 3 days. Parking causes hostility among tenants. Its just a bad environment if you need two cars (which most families have). Also, people that have two spots like to "charge" other tenants to use them- they dont' need the second spot, but since they have it they are using it to their advantage. Its just terrible and they raised their prices so if you are looking to rent, they are now comparable to the other developments in the area. Look elsewhere if you like to have guests and have two cars. its like living in Brooklyn all over again ...
The amenity fee is way too high for the actually accommodations. I currently have my ceiling leaking bc my upstairs neighbor’s apartment flooded and when I called maintenance I was told they won’t be coming to look at my apartment and that the ceiling will dry on its own. The head super told me this. Meanwhile there is water inside of my light fixture, there’s bubbles on my ceiling the will produce mold of not properly taken care of…that’s just in my apartment. The actual apartment grounds have overgrown trees and bushes and sometimes the landscaping is not done well either, such as overgrown grass touching the sidewalks. Management seems to care very little.
The Apartments at Aberdeen Station are wonderful- Management has declined. Great location if you need the train or easy access to the parkway as for the complex itself... Management, treats the tenants the way an adult would treat a child. They have done everything but take out a ruler and slap you on the back of your hand. The reality is the complex cannot handle the tenant volume which leads to a lot of complaints and rather then fix the issues the Management, which is new from a few years ago, sends out constant text messages that borderline on harassment. This place cannot house families with more than one car. there aren't enough spaces. Visitor spots are scarce and tenants cannot park there-well you can, but not for more than 3 days. Theres no street parking so you have no where to park your car and management threatens to tow your car- their own residents cars, if you park more then 3 days- don't get sick or take a vacation. your car will be gone. They also create a hostile living environment. they want tenants to rat on other tenants- they actually "encourage" it. They think they can fine you by "hearsay" - if you have dog and it barks and your neighbor doesn't like you and he decides to say your dog craps on the floor outside and you don't pick it up (because they don't like you or your dog) Management, will fine you- thats the environment they want here. Live here only if you enjoy being included on text messages reprimanding you and your neighbors- oh and the mail room is terrible. One room for all mail- don't leave a package there for more than one day or you'll get a message about that too... if you even get your mail. for the amount you pay to live here, they should really be doing more and they should probably be reading up on what they can really say and demand legally instead of bullying you. don't live anywhere that is managed by this this company.

I just moved in this week and love the place!! Courtney in the office was very knowledgeable and made our move in so smooth!!!
From day one, I was immediately impressed with the friendliness and work ethic of ROB in the maintenance department. His ability to fix and repair anything promptly is impressive, but he goes above and beyond by making the residents of the community feel welcome and comfortable. He is very approachable anywhere in the community to ask a question, verbalize a concern or just offer a helping hand if needed. Always has a smile, even on his most hectic days. Makes me think twice about becoming a homeowner again. Maybe I'll just stay! Great job ROB!
The maintenance team in the complex is amazing. Rob specifically is just excellent. Any thing I have needed in my apartment he has responded quickly and worked fast and efficiently. Anytime I have called maintenance he arrives with assistance and has gone above and beyond . He is also very friendly and see him all over the complex always working hard getting things done.
I've been a resident for a few years in this apartment complex and it's a nice place to live. Arianna in the leasing office and Rob the maintenance manager are excellent and really care about residents. My neighbors are friendly, it's quiet and safe and the units are renovated. Pet friendly a lot of people have dogs. I will continue to live here.
I have lived here for years and it has gotten much better with the change of management. They have done a whole new parking system and fixed the gates as well. They have new maintenance staff and new staff in the office as well. Courtney, the new girl is great!!!! I love the renovations they are doing also!
I have lived at this property many years and this is the 4th Management company I have experienced, they are by far the worst!! AJH does not value their tenants needs at all. The property states it is luxury, however it is anything but that. The building's have extremely dirty, old carpets, no camera system, filthy mailbox area with a garbage pail that is over 10 years's old. They charge an amenity fee and there is no cleaning staff on the weekends, the pool area has broken sinks and bbq's. The common area of the buildings remain dirty all weekend. The pool is advertised that is open 7 days per week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. This week tenants learned the pool will not be open until the end of June. The tenants were not informed and this is extremely unfair and misleading. I would not recommend this property for the horrible management company you will experience. They are not open on the weekends, all weekend long there is no management staff to tend to needs or emergencies. Avoid this location!
I just renewed my lease and love the community. It's a safe, gated, and comfortable. Small amount of parkway noise but not bad. My neighbors are friendly and the grounds are quiet and clean. Management and maintenance respond quickly. Central location - proximity to NYC, Red Bank, Holmdel/Old Bridge shopping, 35/36, beach. There's a clubhouse, gym, pool, gazebo.
Management sucks. Parking sucks. Maintenance doesn't show up to fix anything. You pay extra for extra parking spots and they do nothing if someone parks in YOUR PAID SPOT. If you call after hours for a parking issue they don't do anything about it. It's not an "emergency". So don't pay extra for a spot, you can park wherever you want as long as it's when the office is closed because maintenance won't do anything about it! No need to worry about getting towed! Need an extra spot? Just park in the loading zone overnight! As long as you don't do this during office hours, you are golden! Also, for this price you get a literally brand new apartment down by the train station. Much nicer. Stay far far away. They just switched management this summer and it's even WORSE than it was before. I didn't think it was possible, yet here we are. Don't make the same mistake we did by moving here.
Although these are nice apartments with good amenities what gives people the right to raise rent 200.00 within a 2wk span because they are renting so fast. I understand supply and demand but come on... give the people that work hard don't make six figures a chance to enjoy the atmosphere of this complex. I was going back and forth with your office for 3wks only to find out the rent went from 1368 to 1575 within 2wks... it was disappointing and very inconsistent. Your rents constantly fluctuate... anybody out their care about the hard working class and not just Wall Street suits...
