The Apartments at Owings Run

I have lived here for a few years. Today was the final straw. A maintenance man came to my apartment to pick up a fan at 8:45pm. Correct. This is just a drop in the bucket compared to the poor treat and attitude received from the maintenance team and ALL the office staff including the office manager/supervisor. Don't rent here they are horrible.

The Assistant Property Manager is very rude and abrupt. Don’t expect any professionalism in the leasing office except for the leasing agents.

I reached out to danielle today and advised her i needed a extra set of keys Maitenance man rob cutt keys right away and even tried them in my door to make sure they were cutt right…I am very pleased with the service im experiencing here so far …i will definitely be recommending future tenants to the property

I’ve been living here for almost 3 years and I honestly don’t have any complaints. Maintenance comes out within a reasonable amount of time and I’m able to communicate easily with the leasing office.

Dylan the maintenance man is excellent. Put in a service request and he comes the same day and is very nice and professional. Does clean work.

I called to schedule a tour with low expectations(based off my experience in shopping for a apt in the last two months). I must say once I arrived,spoke with the Leasing agent and toured. This property and apartment is beautiful, both truly exceeded my expectations. The Leasing agent was professional, engaging, and informative. The only disappointment was that my floor plan was not available. I received a follow up call from my tour on Monday that after research my preferred floor plan is available. I Salute "The Apts at Owings Run". You exceeded my expectations.

I could go on and on about the disgusting experience I had here. They changed management and the people are worse. The staff working for this company are TERRIBLE.. They can’t even keep maintenance associates and I am sure everyone is aware of the benefits you get when working for an apt. Overcharged from deposit to rental fees. Gathering a case.. that’s how bad.

First, don't opt for a ground level apartment. Mice were a big problem when I first moved in and virtually everyone parking their cars can peer right into your entire apartment if you leave the blinds open. The rooms are decently sized, the bathrooms usually have a bit of a drainage problem, but the apartments are fine over all. Nothing to rave about. The biggest problem I have is that the rent increase when renewing is ludicrous for an apartment that already charges more than other apartment complexes near by. The complex is average at best and the pricing doesn't make sense. The workout center is an absolute joke and the pool is so crowded that I just chose not to go. They give a 24 hour notice before coming into your apartment, but they come to do "routine" inspections more often than they really need to in my opinion and its always during a time I can't be home to see what they are doing. The appliances are old and most of the closet doors are incredibly cheap. The central air/heat does work very well. My lease is up at the time of writing this and the only reason I am potentially staying is because the complex is close to the metro, Foundry Row, and moving is a big hassle.

Property is poorly managed. Employees are rude. Maintenance does not fulfill requests. Interior and exterior building is dirty, and full of trash. People destroy others vehicles.

I am currently living in Owings run apartment, Severe problem with snakes. There are 4 snakes entered into living room so far. There were too many mice roaming in house. I complained many times. Pest control team visited for 6 to 8 times continuously every Wednesday. Still snakes are coming inside the home. There is no proper response from management. no contact number of management available apart from local leasing office. No response for email sent to management. They are offering another unit to transfer within same community, But it is little bit smaller than current one, one closet also shortage than current still rent is more. There were small issues initially which resolved by maintenance team. Horrible experience with Home properties-Owings run

The apartments and property are nicely kept. However, the office & manager staff is always rude and have an attitude and do not work with you. I will not even consider renting from here until the office staff is completely changed.

I currently live in Owings Run. I moved in at the end of March, Kamilah was extremely helpful during the application and move in process. All of the office staff I have encountered have been polite and made sure all of my needs were met. I am very big on customer service so this is a PLUS for me. I've had a couple maintenance issues since I moved in and they were addresses almost immediately. My washer was not working properly and they replaced it with a brand new one, My refrigerator was replaced as well as my range hood (it was unsightly). Its a very quiet area and I rarely ever hear my neighbors. Ive used the fitness center and the pool. My kids enjoyed the pool and I like the fitness center. (I am not an fitness freak tho). So far I have had no problems with rodents or pests, I keep a clean home despite having 3 children so that can play a part. There is always parking in front of my building and there are children around who seem to be very well behaved. Over all so far I love my experience here.

I've lived here for close to one year. When my lease was up for renewal I was informed that my rent would be raised $100. I'm only renewing the lease because I don't want to go through the hassle of moving and because my son likes his school. Also my wife works nearby and it's convenient for her. If I were single I'd be out of here. For beginners, the apartments have cheap appliances and fixtures. My refrigerator door doesn't close all the way so the light stays on. I've made two separate maintenance requests but it still is an issue. You can imagine how this affects both my electric bill and my grocery bill. They cut corners wherever they can. Case in point, when I moved in the water heater in the apartment was old and rusty and needed replacement. It kept tripping the circuit breaker and eventually caught on fire one day when I was at the pool. I came home to a house full of smoke and the stench lingered for about a month. They apologized but offered no recompense. The slats on the blinds are cheap and always break. Instead of replacing them they tape them up and put them in another unit. When it snowed and there was two feet of snow on the streets they dragged their feet with the cleanup. A neighbor from my building and I went to the office to complain. They told us that they weren't being cheap, but that there was no one available to clean up the snow. Knowledge of basic economics will tell you that if the price is right someone will do it. This was obviously a lie on their part. Also, the trash and recycling piles up in the bins for weeks sometimes. There's trash all over the grounds. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you like throwing away your money.

My experience in this apartment complex has not been a positive one. I have lived here for about 9 months and every month our rent has been significantly different. When we asked why, they blamed it on the woman who helped us sign our lease that quit a few weeks after we moved in (real professional). I can only speak for my apartment building, but it seems that every apartment has at least 6 people living in it! The 1st floor is always flooding with kids and there is trash everywhere. This has created a very clustered and suffocating environment. Our experience with maintenance has been ok- they have always arrived in a timely manner. The washing machine and dryer are terrible. The washing machine makes such a loud noise whenever we use it. When we asked maintenance to look at it they said there was nothing wrong with it. The dryer also has a VERY loud beeping noise which goes off 3 times for every load. This setting can not be adjusted. I rarely am able to take a hot shower, which is pretty ridiculous considering how much we pay in rent and water bills. When my sister and I toured the complex over the summer, one of the major highlights we saw was the security features. We were told there would always be someone at the front gate from 7pm-4am every night. They said that cars without tags showing the person lived there would be stopped and they would have to contact the apartment the person was visiting to allow them in. This turned out to be very untrue. For the first few months we lived there, no one was ever at the gate. Now I occasionally see a car there maybe a few times a week. I feel like this was false advertising as it was one of the big reasons we choose to live in the complex. We will definitely not be renewing our lease. We are looking forward to moving out of this complex.

These apartments are okay but not really worth the cost. Bedrooms & kitchen are a nice size but the living/dining area is tiny. Hardly any closet space anywhere..no pantry. I've lived here for one year the least is almost up and im moving. Something is always breaking & it takes maintenance forever to come and fix it. I've had constant problems with my dryer, doorknobs, lights. Also, they could do a better job with plumbing so that you could use both showers/tubs simultaneously. They have front doors that you have to buzz to be let in which is a complete waste because the front door is always broken due to someone propping something in the door or not closing it correctly. Last but not least the neighborhood is full of kids who will play football in the middle of the parking lot as if cars aren't parked there. I come outside to a new mysterious dent in my car regularly.
