Named by French explorers as the “Red Stick City,” Baton Rouge is Louisiana’s capital city bursting with history and culture. A beautiful fusion of Cajun and Creole culture molds an extraordinary experience throughout this riverfront city.
The Louisiana State Capitol building dominates the landscape of downtown Baton Rouge, a gargantuan tower built in classic 1930s art deco style. Next door, the historic Spanish Town is a popular community for artists and bohemian types, with beautifully preserved homes and tree-shaded streets giving the impression of a charming small town.
While Baton Rouge is home to several colleges, Louisiana State University is the hub of the city. Tiger football is the undisputed center of attention throughout the fall. The famous Tiger Walk, tailgating, and raucous home games at Tiger Stadium, also known as Death Valley, is an experience thousands enjoy every season.

Property Ratings at The Arts Apartments at Jefferson Heights
Lived here for a year. Was a truly awful experience. Apartment always smelled like weed. Blue lights always outside. Roaches (German) all in the kitchen dishwasher stove etc

Thank you. We agree. We have a wonderful community with friendly residents and a great location.
I've been in my unit for 3 weeks and I haven't gone a single day without roaches -- trust me when I say that the leasing office doesn't care, and their attitude about moving into an uninhabitable unit is "sucks to suck." There's carpet all over the units which you won't find on their website, and as echoed in previous comments, the in unit washer and dryer don't work. I got this place sight unseen from another state and it's been the absolute worst experience. Avoid at all costs!
Shame on me for not reading every single word on the lease because I had to move out early (my job put me in the hospital for stress and the only new job I could find was more than an hour away) because they charged me $3000 dollars in penalties. Not to mention the frequent large roaches let in through negligent craftsmanship and washers that were almost all always broken. Only good part is the pool. Trash, corporate apartments who only care about profit and never the humans that live there, as usual.
None of the washers in the laundromats work and when submitting service request they still don’t fix them or they may fix 1 out of the 6. The machines are old and out of date and the laundromat area is dirty. The dog park is also very unkept.
When you first arrive they are friendly and as you'd expect but stay there a while and you'll realize how cutthroat and uncaring they are. I would recommend ANYWHERE else but here.
The apartment complex is located in great area, it’s kind of hidden off Jefferson hwy, it’s near the mall and both interstate, which makes it very convenient. The sales rep Kayla is very professional and helpful. She works hard to make sure her tenants are satisfied.
Management is nice and the apartments are okay, but the maintenance has to be the worse thing on the face of the planet. I can fix anything they had "fixed" much better, and it wouldn't break down again 2 weeks later. Their policies within the leasing contract are some of the most ludicrous I have found in my many years of renting. You can't even have a fish without paying extra rent for a pet contract. ... really? They don't give you half of what they advertise living-wise. Laundry onsite is always broken, pools are never cleaned, tennis courts are in a state of disrepair. The floor within my apartment has mold growing underneath it, and nothing had been done about it even after it was listed as a problem when first moving in. These are money hungry people, just live elsewhere.
Although their complex is in a great area and crime is unseen, the apartments are not close to amazing for the price that is paid to live here. I guess it's just the location.
I recently moved to be closer to my work but my stay at Jefferson Heights was pretty great. I always had a great experience with the office staff-very friendly. Never had any issues with maintenance not repairing items correctly. I would definitely return to this property in the future.
I moved here about a few months ago. My neighbors are extremely inconsiderate. They have many guests and they take up the parking spaces often. They are noisy. I have had to call on many occasions about maintenance issues to not have them fixed correctly. The apartments aren't well insulated therefore, it's either warm when it should be cool and cool when it should be warm. Will not renew lease.
I haven't moved into the arts apartments yet but they are absolutely go genius and I 100% plan on living there within the next 2 months. It is a beautiful unit with modern day design. Smaller than I expected but not a problem at all. The environment also feels very safe and welcome.
Staff is nice. Neighbors are quiet and nice. Pretty much no crime. Apt is very nice and comfy.
Staff is nice at first but then treats you like you don't exist . My air broke on a Friday and wasn't complete fixed until Monday. They basically just apologized like it wasn't a big deal. The business center and gym comes in handy and the residents are very nice and quiet. Not noisy at all! The pool is nice . I love my apt it's updated and comfy.
The apartments are nice, but I feel like they get away with charging more because of their location right by the interstate. The pools are perpetually cloudy and everyone I've talked to has had ongoing issues with their air conditioning. The maintenance staff are pleasant, but there was a point where they had to come by so often that our pets started treating them like family. The apartments are slightly nicer than cheaper ones in other areas, but not so much so that they make up for the several hundred dollars difference in rent. The biggest pro, for me, is that the area is safe. In a city like Baton Rouge, places that are reasonably-priced and safe are nearly impossible to find.
The complex is big, but the front buildings are updated. Our apartment was spacious with wood flooring, kitchen need some work, but Management is on top of things and very helpful.
I have lived here for a year and from the management to the maintenance have been the best they have always took care of any issue asap.I have been around alot of management and maintenance from the line of work I used to be in and I'm not going to lie I was scared to see how I was going to be treated after I was a resident but they treat me still with the same respect and compassion.we love them like they are family and you could not ask for a better location you are minutes from everything. We love it so much
