Property Ratings at The Ashberry
This is the first apartment complex I've lived in, I always stayed away from complexes because I heard horror stories about bad management and other problems. The Ashberry has proven me wrong - they are very responsive to any service issues I have encountered and repairs are done on the same day. The management staff is very friendly and helpful. I love the parklike grounds and the screened in porches are amazing. 4 stars because my only complaint is that the floors/walls seem a little flimsy and I can often hear my neighbors above me. Otherwise I have no complaints.

We're so pleased to hear that you're happy with your experience, and that the team has been accommodating. Please let us know if you need anything during your residency at The Ashberry.
I moved out of The Ashberry to move a little closer to my job and immediately regretted it, no where compares to this place. The office staff is so nice and go above and beyond even with your packages. The maintenance team takes care of everything the day you put a ticket in, I've never lived anywhere that takes care of issues so quickly, like they even change my lightbulbs for me. The grounds are beautiful and I love the screened in balconies. I'm happy to say we're back for good this time!

I would NOT recommend this place. IF ZERO STARS WERE POSSIBLE I WOULD.We lived here for 6 months and one of the worst place. First of all if you have handicap needs the management lets anyones park in the handicap spots. It was the moment that we saw a couple have to help lift they're elder on the curb to her wheelchair that we complained about the non handicap residents that parked in the spot daily and they said they would talk to those people, nothing happened we even complained again in person a week later and they said " we talked to them". they continued to let them park there even told us we could call the police on those people if we would like since they were breaking the law.THATS WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE. months continued to go by and those people continued to park there. Then our new neighbors started to smoke weed day one they moved in . We complained and then they said they would talk to them, after many more times coming home to a house smelling like weed we complained again and they said they talk to them, my mom came by to visit one day and they first thing she said was " omg it smells in here" from the weed the neighbors would smoke. They do not care about ant complaint that any resident makes. The trash service is a joke. Thet choose who's trash they want to pick up for example if 4 residents all put there trash out one day we would wake up the next day and one persons trash would be left and the other 3 taken. We would all laugh about it the next day

We're very sorry to see this review. We never like to hear that a resident has negative feelings about our community or our service. We would be more than happy to speak with you directly about your experience here. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to discuss any of these issues further. Thank you.
the parking is terrible. People with multiple vehicles parks cars that don’t move for weeks on end right in front the building and leasing office does nothing about it. We ask them a few months back and they stated that people with cars that don’t move every day is supposed to park the vehicle on the far end of the parking lot, But the do not enforce this at all. There are multiple other tenants that park their extras vehicles that don’t move at all right in front the buildings then park the vehicles they do drive right next to it. My advice if you work and get home late a lot keep looking

Hello Cedric, We're sorry to hear that our parking facilities have been a source of frustration for you. We understand that parking is in high demand, and we apologize that our lot is not always able to accommodate every driver to their desired specification. Please stop into the office to discuss your concerns. We'll do our best to help. Thank you.
PROS: beautiful property! It has a dog park area, pool, 24 access gym, and clean -no trash bags or pieces or trash lying about around the property. Fun activities from time to time Their apartments are very nice. They do look just how they are in the pictures. Location was nice. Walking distance to Wal-Mart, bowling, movies, restaurants etc. I understand they are trying to sell apartments and make money, however, why hide information or just straight out lie!?! One of the things that upset me the most is when I asked 3 TIMES at move in how do I make sure I receive if not all most of my deposit back. I was only their for about a year w/out kids or pets and worked at a hospital so was barely home- I didn't cause any damages or stains on the walls nothing! They had the nerve to keep 99% of my deposit because no matter what they repaint the walls with a "custom color". That is something you should have told me WHEN I ASKED! Actually they should let people know in general instead of being so sneaky. Secondly, they MAKE you pay extra for valet trash pick up at your door even if you tell them you don't need it. I asked to opt out ( every dollar counts) since I stayed so close to the dumpster I'll let them keep their trash can and I'll keep my money. I mean why pay for a service you never use. They told me they were charging me anyways, that I had to keep the trash can and I couldn't just leave it outside on MY balcony or front door. One time I left it outside on my balcony and they threatened to charge me 50 dollars. Did not like that at all... CONS: lies about fees and costs ( make them sign something !) pretty unaccommodating for simple request which is why I'm glad I didn't extend my stay their. Extra cost for "upgraded kitchen" which is the same as their regular kitchen just shiner appliances. Keeps your deposit but will not come out and tell you. Kind of dance around the question. Almost always had issues when coming to pick up my packages. Overall, In my opinion, I wouldn't stay there if it's a temporary move a year of less or if you new to renting apartments and not used to being tricked out of extra money. If you plan on staying their for a long period of time and do not care about the cons I listed I think you may actually like staying there. Just make sure you know it's not about what YOU want it's about what THEY want.

Thank you for sharing this feedback with us. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed our amenities and location as well as our beautiful property. However, we regret that other aspects of your time with us were problematic. Regarding the security deposit, at times we do need to retain a portion of a resident's deposit to get the apartment move-in ready for the next tenant, and we understand that this is stressful. We would be happy to speak to you directly about this, so please call us at 410-760-1164. Thanks.
I lived here for ten months and just left recently to move in with some friends across town. Everything about The Ashberry is amazing - personable and professional staff, beautifully-maintained yards and amenities, clean and remodeled apartments... Everything you could want for 1-2 bedrooms. I always felt at home; if you're on the fence, I'm telling you, it's worth it!

Thanks for taking a moment to compliment our wonderful community here at The Ashberry! We can't help but agree that our community is "amazing"! We wish you nothing but happiness in your new home.
Money hungry. Constantly looking for things to charge you for. Like the rent isn't enough.
I lived at the Ashberry from June 2016 - June 2017. Getting into the apartment was a breeze and I moved into one of the 3rd floor Teaberry apartments (2BR, 2BA). The apartment was perfect. The kitchen, living room and bedrooms were generously sized. The bathrooms also had plenty of space. The balcony was a wrap-around balcony (more of an L-shape)and it had so much space for entertaining and an extra storage closet. The apartment also had a fireplace, which was perfect during the winter months. Parking was never really an issue, even during the holidays. I have a smaller sized dog and he LOVED the dog park. Everyone at the dog park is very courteous when it comes to how their dogs interact with other dogs. There's plenty of dog waste cans around the property, so there's really no excuse to not pick up after your dog. Overall, I had an excellent stay at the apartment...that is, until it was time to move out. I gave notice towards the end of April 2017/ early May 2017 that I would be moving out of the apartment. I was going through the process of purchasing my first home. Long story short, my deposit was $350 and I got screwed out of more than $200 just in paint charges when I moved out. I took pictures of the apartment to prove that the charge was excessive, but when I brought it to the attention of the management office..it fell on deaf ears. My apartment was going to be renovated after I moved out, so the only thing I could be charged for is paint. It was a great apartment to live in...just don't ever move out. That's when they'll completely screw you over.
My application process and move in were a BREEZE! I love my first floor apartment, the patio, the pool, the fitness center for quick early morning cardio. The office staff is fantastic. The only thing I would change if I could, would be getting reserved parking instead of valet trash. If you get home after a certain hour, there is no parking at my building. Other than that, I love my new place
I hate apartments. There's nothing worse than paying out so much money each year for something that will never be yours. And every year they find excuses to extort more of your income. But to my surprise this was the best apartment experience I've had. I made all sorts of modifications to the place and they didn't mind, have a nice wrap around porch. A washer and dryer in unit. A decent kitchen. Good air system. Relatively quiet neighbors. And it really feels kinda hidden away right in the middle of Pasadena. It's a great place to live. I highly recommend it. But no apartment will ever earn 5 stars from me.
