Asher is by far the worst apartment complex I have ever rented at! Unless you are waiting in the mail room when packages are delivered, 4 out of every 5 packages that you order will get stolen and the front office will act like you are inconveniencing them when you report it. My car got broken into in the apartment garage and the front office did absolutely nothing and informed me that they only have cameras in the entrance and exits so basically tenants are free to just walk into the garages and break into other cars without consequence. They brush these incidents under the rug and act like everything is ok. They have said they have improved security but outside of additional signs I haven’t noticed much and break ins have not decreased.

I have toured a lot of homes in Fremont and The Staff at The Asher were the only staff that were not only inviting but also took the time to show me all the homes that I wanted to see as well as the amenities. All the other communities in Fremont that I went to never showed the amenities and rushed through my appointment. I am beyond happy with my apartment home and I am glad to be at a community with office staff that I can count on! The maintenance onsite is also top notch. I placed a work order and they were able to address it the same day! Superb service all around!

One of the worst places when it comes to security and car break ins are frequent and also break in to aprtment,no good security and management does not care, Also they charge extra money for carpets when you check out and charge additional montly fee which is unnecessary .Theft under day light

In response to your concerns about security, I would like to inform you that we have recently installed 24/7 live monitoring cameras in our community. Since their installation, we have not received any reports of security incidents. However, we continue to monitor the situation closely and remain vigilant in ensuring the safety of our residents and their property. Regarding the issue of car break-ins and theft, I want to assure you that we are actively working to prevent such incidents. We encourage residents to report any suspicious activity immediately so that we can take appropriate action. Additionally, we have strengthened our security protocols and are collaborating with local law enforcement to address these concerns. Regarding your concerns about carpet charges during move-out, I would like to clarify our procedures. We conduct both a pre-move-out inspection and a final move-out inspection, as required by California law. Residents have the option to opt out of the pre-move-out inspection if they choose. During these inspections, we assess the condition of the carpet and any damages. If repairs or replacement are deemed necessary and are determined to be caused by the resident, appropriate charges may apply. This process is standard across the industry and is intended to maintain the quality of our community for all residents. I’ve never lived anywhere that invested in the community like the Asher does. The service from management and work staff has been such a huge blessing to my wife and I. The amenities are amazing but the culture and community that is being cultivated here is intentional and consistent. Thank you to The Asher for providing an amazing place to live and intentional opportunities to form community through the food trucks & community events like the summer concert series on the rooftop.

The Asher looks good from the outside but when you live here, you will be scared. There are break-ins every now and then where there will be no action taken by the management. Your car will be stolen at 7 p.m. in bright light from a secured garage and the response form the management team will be that this is happening everywhere and they can't do anything. Sorry.

The management in this "luxury" apartment complex is non-existent. To say it is poor would be a gross understatement. Car break-ins are rampant, as are the break-ins into storage units. Unauthorized people roam the building freely with as security is non-existent (call a toll-free number which is very unhelpful). I've seen a disinterested security guard a handful of times who is unable to help when needed (literally said they couldn't call 911 since they had no network in the garage and they are not allowed to hold the criminals so had to let them go free). Unauthorized cars are parked in the garages but when flagged to the management, the cars are never towed - this despite residents paying a separate annual fee for garage maintenance. The management does not communicate with the residents on any one these issues at all, ever. Despite efforts by groups of residents to remedy the situation, management has shown little interest in changing the status quo. Sure, the amenities are great and the maintenance team are quick to respond to requests - for which one pays a premium to live here. But if you want peace of mind and not constantly worry about your belongings/car being broken into, please stay away from this terribly management apartment complex.

There are some areas of concern that need addressing. Security has been an issue during my stay. External people seem to have easy access to the premises, leading to incidents of theft and unauthorized individuals using common areas like the pool and coworking spaces. This has affected the overall safety and sense of security within the community.

I have been living at the Asher for nearly 2 years and have noticed a remarkable declines in both cleanliness and condition of facilities. I have also experienced 2 major incidents of theft, a vehicle being stolen and a storage locker being broken into. The security is a joke at the Asher and I would heavily consider this when looking to move here. The management do nothing when you bring it up to them and are often rude in response. The facilities are poorly maintained and the rent is the highest in the area, if everything was working clean and safe it would be worth it but it is far from it.

This apartment complex needs better management staff. Management do not care about the safety of their residents. Recently break-ins to cars and storages are in a rise and their response is “Contact your insurance there is nothing we can do”.

I want to give this property five stars- it is absolutely gorgeous and it should feel like living in a resort. Unfortunately, more and more, I feel unsafe and uncomfortable living here. Break-ins into cars and storage units happen every week, despite being listed as a secured property. I've submitted multiple tickets for a malfunctioning fire alarm in my unit and it remains unfixed. The doors from the garage have card readers but are not actually locked. The excuse offered from the office is they are emergency exits, but they're not signed as emergency exits, nor do they actually provide egress- the merely provide unfettered access into the living areas of the property. This, in turn, has led to break-ins into storage units inside the buildings, use of the amenities by non-residents, and vandalism. Twice, people have opened the fire stand pipes, causing the water pressure in the fire suppression system to drop and evacuating the building in the early hours of the morning. The amenity spaces are regularly taken over by 50+ people on the weekends who blast music, let dogs into the pool area, and push out residents-- and these parties are not always hosted by residents. Guests and residents park in any space they want and, despite Asher charging us a fee for parking services AND charging for spaces, they do not enforce the parking rules. Dogs are allowed to run around without a leash and when owners are reported, the office says they can't do anything about it. Owners are also not cleaning up after their dogs, and we regularly find urine or poop on sidewalks and inside on the carpet or floors in hallways and the clubhouse. The property team also does not enforce quiet hours, and the security number for after-hours assistance provided by the property team doesn't connect after hours. I feel unsafe in my home. Until Asher makes an effort to enforce their own property rules and repair access control features to the building, I wouldn't recommend anyone live here.

Security is serious issue, there are no cameras, cars are broken into daily, noise and burglary. We are not renewing our lease and will leave soon.

Great apartments but security and safety is terrible. Car break-in is a regular occurrence and parking entrance lacks proper security measures allowing anyone to access it. Once someone enters the parking, you can access all apartments easily as there no security measures from parking to apartments. Strangers knock on the door asking for charity and looks suspicious. Management has shown poor response to the complaints and has failed to take any action. We moved to this expensive apartment by looking at the amenities but now, we are regretting our decision each day. We won’t recommend the apartment to our friends unless management improves the security around the apartments.

The apartment amenities look nice but the staff and management do not express the abhorrent lack of safety for the residents, to any new resident who receives the 1 hour tour of this location. The cars get broken into daily since June 2022 and no additional security measures have been applied. Kids Bikes get stolen from the patio and packages are always opened by strangers. There are not enough cameras and whenever some theft happens, the management doesn’t actually do anything about it.

The Asher is a public property accessed by all outsiders freely and very frequently. The cars are broken into almost every night and all the access doors are mostly open to general public despite you paying heavy rent for the amenities and security. I was chased by a creepy guy till my apartment door this week and it was way scarier than anyone can imagine. Use ur money wisely. DON’T rent here if you love your family and care about your assets. Never renewing here!!!

The community is beautiful and very well maintained. However, the apartment has no security. There is a break in everyday. Almost 100 cars, 20 apartments, and many bikes stolen. Management has turned a blind eye to it. Unfortunately the current situation makes it insecure to live here.

Its a beautiful looking apartment, however security is terrible. Car & storage room breakins are everyday affair. Suspicious Strangers are hanging out in the common area all the time, you feel unsafe to open even your apartment door after evening or go to terrace.. management is totally unresponsive!!!my new car was broken into last month & i personally know 30-40 residents whose cars have been broken into it or bikes stolen.. Please talk to a current resident before making any decision.

The Asher staff are very helpful and attentive. The Asher grounds are very well manicured and clean. The maintenance workers that fixed the apartment washer were kind and efficient. Other apartment residents that I have met so far have been kind and helped me when I got lost in the hallways trying to find my apartment.
Terrible Place to stay!!! 1. Garage break in. 9/5. 2. Package stolen 9/5. The manager will LIE to you. DO NOT believe what they said, nobody will take responsibility on the less security. 3. Upstairs running all the time, You CAN hear every single time they close and open the door.
If you like to live in a new, quiet, secure, clean and good looking apartment in a prime location in Fremont, CA, The Asher is the place to go.
As an apartment, The Asher is one of the best options available in Fremont especially because of the location, amenities and the friendly maintenance staff.

Apartments are flimsy, your walls will shake if your neighbors start running and the register box and bathroom doors will vibrate loud unless you add something like cloth or paper in between. Also you will hear every appliance your upstair neighbors use (we have very good appliance tho) and apparently its ok to use them after midnight. There is either no safety or other residents will steal your packets. Management cannot help you most of the time. I’ve never been so miserable in my life as the last few months, I cannot sleep more than 6 non consecutive hours a day, my upstair neighbors like to run well after midnight (I’ve accepted that I won’t have peace after 6pm when they start running, but not having peace after 11pm is horrible), I’ve contacted management and nothing changed, I would say things have been getting worse since then.

Asher is a great community that offers beautiful and modern living space. Asher includes a large selection of amenities that make the resident experience very pleasant. The office manage McKinna is extremely helpful and is a great person to work with on the leasing process.

Excellent leasing process experience, our leasing manager Eric was superb, he understood our requirements pretty quickly and lined up viable apartment choices that helped us make our decision quickly. We were relocating from New York to Bay Area, hence short on time to research apartments. So we are super thankful to Eric for making our experience painless and quick. This place looks good. Amenities are really nice. Easy rental process and responsive team till you move in. From outside it seems like it has good security but we hear every now and then that people break in to the security system (Source: Resident Portal Asher). Specially with bikes and cars it has not been safe (Talking about almost a month of our stay here). Management is difficult to reach out on e-mail after you move in and you have to go to the leasing office for them to respond. Maintenance team is sometimes very quick but the other times they don't even show up for two days even if you put that request in emergency (Toilet blockage issue). Fun fact: even though they don’t show up in time, they update the portal with a backdate fix so that the records are clean . Think well before you plan to move here. This morning we observed loud trash noise issue with has been killing our sleep as early as 6 a.m. The utilities will come out to be double of what we were informed

We barely left the property since we moved in. Our toddler and dog love roaming around in the free community spaces and enjoying the lovely swings. We have also enjoyed the amenities like the grill and the pool a lot. We find the shared spaces to be well maintained and clean. Thank you to the team.
