Pool has been closed for a month, tennis court to be taken out , trash is not picked up when supposed to be but still forced to pay, forced to pay to prove you have renter insurance every month.

I love living at the Ashlar, it feels like home! I love the way they keep up the property, the buildings look beautiful and they have added new grills to the community, it always looks nice! When anything goes wrong they are right on it and keep communications with the community to know what is going on. The maintenance staff is awesome and fix things the first time. The office staff is amazing and professional. We appreciate the events and all that they do!

Me and my bf had toured Ashlar a little over a week ago. We toured with a lovely lady. I believe her name was Cheryl. She was very friendly and welcoming. We loved the apartment size and layout. The tour was also great as we felt a warm welcome to the community but decided to stay where we are due to the prices. Once prices go back down and my current lease is up I will most likely come back.

We have only been here a month and we love our cozy apartment. Who would of thought that right off of Daniels road is a circle of paradise. Our apartment has a balcony with a lake front view with a lighted fountain with birds and ducks. We go outside everyday and just sit and admire the peace and quiet. We have nice neighbors everyone is polite and no loud noise or ruckus. We don’t have any bugs in our apartment, which is saying a lot for Florida bugs. We have a nice size apartment with a lot of natural sunlight. Ashlar has two dog parks, one small and one a little larger where my puppy can run free without a leash. We are so happy and blessed with our beautiful apartment. Our living room has a large window/ door and we can watch the sunrise right from our couch. We are so happy that the Ashlar is the apartment we selected on our apartment hunt.

I paid for an “upgraded” apartment but all you really get is linoleum floor instead of carpet and a few updated light fixtures. All other finishes are very outdated including white laminate countertops and white appliances that are at least 10 years old. They increase rent every lease renewal pretty significantly which they said was “based on the market” however with each renewal you are paying much more than what they are asking new renters to pay. The complex is very nice, gates usually in working order and they do have a beautiful pool area. Neighbors were very quiet and polite. People in the office were courteous enough until it came to my last renewal when I told them I could not afford the price jump. They said they would work with me and offered to reduce it by 20 dollars a month which I felt was kind of a slap in the face. They are not exactly interested in keeping good tenants that always pay their rent on time apparently. I was basically laughed at and told “we are at 95% occupancy” as if to say they didn’t need my money. I found a much nicer apartment for a better price that was completely updated. If you are looking to stay for a one year lease then it might be a good choice but if you plan on staying any longer I would look elsewhere.

This property is beautiful but lacks (majorly) in many areas when it comes to the ladies in the office. They seem to know very little when asked questions. And not to mention how many times I call in for problems in my apartment and they always seem to forget to put my request in. So now every time I call in, I now know to wait a couple of days and call again because even the property manager can’t remember to put it in and is the most disrespectful here. The maintenance guys are always nice and do a good job once they finally get my work request. I’ve been here almost 4 years and never been treated like I have the last 8 months or so. And not sure why she’s started acting this way because she wasn’t like this when she started here about a year or two ago. And the landscaping here is HORRIBLE! There is weeds everywhere, grass grown up around the trees, dead grass, tree branches hanging over the sidewalks, broken water sprinklers that flood the parking lots as well as spray all over the windows & sidewalks, and most of the sprinklers face anywhere but the grass like the streets and ponds. Oh and don’t walk in the grass anywhere here because the fire ant beds are like bombs and are everywhere you look. They must have a new landscape crew because it’s continued to go down hill this last year. If it wasn’t for ALL of that, this place would be wonderful!

This is the ABSOLUTE worst place to live. The office staff are extremely rude and not willing to help. The maintenance team does absolutely nothing and when they finally get to your problem they will make your home a disaster and walk around your carpet with their dirty, mud covered shoes. The nightmare started the day we moved in. Our a/c was broken and not fixed until days later. We drove in from NY and got to Ashlar at 2 a.m where we were told our keys would be left in our freezer and door unlocked so we could begin moving in, but instead we found ourselves locked out of the apartment and the office staff did not even add our names to the front gate to get in (which they said they did). After nearly two years of mistreatment we decided to move, but right before we moved out we were left with a broken a/c unit once again, which was left untreated for 2-3 weeks which left us miserable in the Florida heat, once they finally got to it, countless items of our property were destroyed from the plaster patching they needed to do in the ceiling when replacing the unit, our carpets were a mess and that is just the start. We are so thankful to have moved out but now are being charged ridiculous amounts that make absolute no sense (considering their maintenance team is the reason for any carpet stain or wear and tear left in the apartment.)

Lived here for 6 months. Location is great, right next to Bell Tower. The property grounds are kept nicely landscaped and are for the most part is quite. The staff is friendly and promptly fixes issues I have had in my unit.
First, let me explain the fake reviews. About 6-7 months ago they held a contest for a free month of rent. All you had to do was review ashlar on different apartment review sites. Don't believe any of the 5 star reviews. Most were for free rent. Now, on to my experience. I lived here for a year. Went on a tour and was extremely impressed. Moved in and it's a different story. We had a list of maybe 25 things that were broken or needed fixing. It was reported the day we moved in and 3 months later it was still not fixed. In the lease, it states that if it's not fixed within 48 hours, you get a $25 discount. We reported that it wasn't fixed nearly every week and finally after 3 months, they came out and fixed the issues. But, we didn't get anything off our rent like the lease claimed we should. Next, the bugs. EVERYWHERE. We had an impeccably clean apartment. We cleaned and vacuumed every other day. We had roaches. Lizards. Ants. Spiders. You name it, we had it. All over the apartment. We asked pest control to come out. They did. Nothing changed. Absolutely disgusting. The staff is terrible. They don't care about the tenants and only care about their jobs. One of the times I went to the front office and was talking to someone to just have him stand up and go get lunch at Jimmy John's and left me sitting there alone. They always said they couldn't solve any of the issues and we'd have to wait for upper management and then upper management never came. They do allow pets here but if you have pet that media makes out to be bad, forget about it. A tiny dog that's known for being the most aggressive breed? Perfectly okay. Big family dog, nope. Forget about it. Not that big of a deal, but just letting people know they have restrictions. Lastly, they illegally tried to renew my lease without my permission and not only that, they tried to increase the rent too. Extremely sketchy. The only positive thing I can say about this place is the location is beautiful and the club house and pool is great. The only problem with those is they close at 5 pm so forget about using it if you work or go to school. This is honestly the last place I would recommend to ANYONE and I highly suggest you avoid if you want to avoid the struggles I had.
Pet friendly community. Our apartment has a beautiful view of the lake. It's located near Belltower, Target, and other great stores. Couldn't find a better place in Ft. Myers!
The new management company is not great - but we LOVE the location and the area. Everyone is really really nice in the neighborhood. The management company is not really great about getting in touch when you reach out to them and are rarely in the office when we do go to see them face to face. Other than that we love walking to the movie theater and our favorite restaurant Cru in Bell Tower Shops.

I love my apartment don't get me wrong but they are a little over priced for the style and the floor plan. Although they aren't the best looking apartments for the price they are probably the nicest ones in Fort Myers. Everywhere else I looked that was maybe a couple hundred cheaper were all dumps.

After 4 years I have no complaints. I appreciate that This community has an amazing team in the front office. They provided exceptional customer service and treated my family like we were truly at home. Any issues I had were promptly fixed by maintenance and I enjoyed my stay here. The pool is nice, the property is developed and it is a convenient location to shopping, eating and a great bike/walking trail.

THE WORST place I have ever lived. The front office staff are rude and could care less about your concerns after you sign the lease. I have maintenance problems at least once a week, from appliances breaking to LEAKING from the ceiling... Good luck actually getting them to fix anything. The fast maintenance request services that they claim to offer are LAUGHABLE at best. Save yourself time and money and rent elsewhere. It's outdated and gross and looks nothing like the apartment model they show you.

Unfortunately, I wanted to live at the Ashlar apts. My first encounter was with roaches, I finally bought raid at the grocery store and they were gone. My second problem was the mold and mildew in the walls of the apt. The management is trying to blame me. Its been a terrible experience. Please help.
I have been living in Ashlar Apartment Homes for 5.5 years. I love it here. I cannot say enough good things about the management staff and the maintenance crew. There has never been a problem that was not address in a timely manner to my complete satisfaction. It is quiet, visually beautiful (lake with fountains, ducks, all kinds of birds, beautiful trees and people just relaxing), close to shopping and entertainment. It is just a great place for me.

Ashlar is an amazing place to live. The most awesome location, a hidden secret of beauty on a preserve, but close to everything you can imagine needing or wanting. A safe and secure gated community that feels more like a home than a temporary place to reside. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, offer many great amenities and the property is immaculately maintained. I'm glad I chose The Ashlar Apartments.
So my quest started for finding the right apartment, eventually I ran out of time. My last go to was Ashlar Aparments. Once we were in we discovered our A/C was broken, and all the drains were clogged. The counter tops are cheap, as well as the crown molding and everything else in the apartment. There is a disgusting mildew like odor that is almost impossible to get rid of coming from the carpet. Everything is old and outdated only to be painted over in off white to make it look new. For the price you pay you'd figure you'd at least get granite counter tops, unclogged drains, and a fresh carpet. However the management team is very educated and nice. They fix your problems as fast as possible and are great all around. It's in a nice area, just not worth the price you pay.
Outdated and overpriced / Channelside apartments will be opening soon if you can wait to move .
