Having built itself up as an economic powerhouse thanks to (you guessed it) the refinement and sale of sugar, Sugar Land has become one of the most affluent and desirable suburbs in the Houston region. Although the mighty Imperial Sugar factory has been shuttered since 2003, the local economy is stronger than ever, the public schools are exceptional, and the crime rate is among the lowest in Texas. On top of that, it’s an ideal community for folks with active lifestyles, with the governor’s office having recognized Sugar Land as the fittest city in the state numerous times in recent years.
Sugar Land residents enjoy a mostly quiet suburban atmosphere, filled with large homes and attractive apartment complexes. A thriving shopping and dining district at the center of town revolves around the swanky Sugar Land Town Square, and the landscape is filled with big, beautiful parks and lakes.

Property Ratings at The Aster Sugar Land
The apartment community is very quiet. There could be an opportunity for the management to upgrade. If I choose to renew, I hope that they will upgrade the apartment.
Everything was smooth and Everyone was so nice. Maintenance is great and fast. They get the job done. Parking is also great. So far, I love it here!
Apartment is warm and friendly. Community is quiet. Just wish people knew where to enter and exit from. Happy the pool is open now and that we have a doggy park.
I have love living here. All of the staff is incredibly kind. They are quick to fix any problems. I love my home and they are continuously making the property better.
It’s a safe environment and nice place to live. We can still pay attention to have a better control on garbage collection and control on bugs and roaches
I just moved in today and the apartment is very dirty. The living room doesnt have light or fan whereas i was told my apartment would be same as the model and model home has a fan and light. When we asked the management, theyre giving us a very lame reason that the plan that was approved by city of Houston does not have the light and or even a connection. If they were to give us that they would have to request a permit from the city of Houston and do it in all apartments. My question is then how come you have it in the model home if it wasn’t approved?
I’ve been here for less than a month but the move in process went smoothly. Rebecca was really helpful. I love the dog park and new wash station and my apartment was given to me how i toured it.
Love how our apartment complex is gated and has a dog park now! The complex is really nice and I appreciate them taking care of the landscape and inside our units. The only reason I did not give it a full 5 stars is because the pool has been closed for some time now and I don’t like when people try to exit out of the entrance gates or when individuals mess with the gates to keep them open.
While I’ve enjoyed living in this apartment community, there’s a serious safety issue that needs immediate attention. The right driveway at the T-intersection has become extremely dangerous due to drivers not only exceeding the 10 mph speed limit but outright speeding through the area. I’ve personally witnessed many incidents where drivers have taken sharp turns at high speeds, narrowly avoiding collisions. This is especially concerning because children frequently cross here. As a parent, I find it unacceptable that this continues without any measures being put in place to prevent potential accidents. Installing speed bumps at this intersection is crucial to slow down traffic and prevent reckless driving. While the community is otherwise well-managed, I strongly urge the management team to make this a top priority. Speed bumps would significantly improve safety for all residents, particularly for families with children who are at risk from speeding drivers.
I have been living at Aster for a little over two years & my experience has been sometimes pleasant. I definitely want to thank the maintenance team for their prompt response. The only concern is trying to get management to get things done, especially when we’ve made certain requests numerous times.
I love my apartment. It’s quiet and people are friendly. Backing up to the green belt is a huge plus! The dog park is also great! Nice and large!
For some reason I have had issues with my payment method. Besides that, it has been a pretty good experience. The fact that the pool was closed for the entire summer was pretty bad as well.
Staff is super helpful and friendly. We love everything about the Aster and would refer to friends and family. We appreciate everything they have done for us.
The apartment is full of Cockroaches? no matter what you do, we spend a lot of money to buy things to fight them, but they are useless, I am finding a new Appatrmet now.
I’ve been living at Aster Sugarland for 3 years, and overall, it’s been a positive experience. The management team is responsive, and maintenance requests are usually handled within a day or two. The amenities are well-maintained, especially the gym and pool, which I use regularly. The location is great, with easy access to nearby attractions, and I appreciate the quiet, friendly neighborhood atmosphere. The apartments themselves are spacious and modern, with plenty of natural light. However, there are a few areas that could use improvement, such as parking availability and occasional noise from neighboring units. Despite these minor issues, I would definitely recommend Aster Sugarland to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to live.
It's been okay. The property has potential for growth and expansion. I am happy that we have the new amenities of the gym, which has been a benefit.
These apartments are ok for the price. Wish gym was bigger and they had a closed area for dogs. People in the front office are nice for the most part.
Neighborhood is so good calm and very helpful and careful . I suggest who move to Texas come in Aster sugar land. Good Appartment . We just moved from newyork everything is so peaceful here.
After 10 PM there is almost no parking in the complex and they will tow anyone including residents if you are not parked in your designated covered parking that you even pay extra for. The have a tow company tow during the night that according to a manager that works there the tow company is allowed to take 3 vehicles a night. If you like to have visitors after 7 PM or at all for that matter, you do not want to live here. My car has also been broken into on a couple of different occasions.
Property Manager at The Aster Sugar Land, Responded To This Review
Jason, Thank you again for your honest feedback. We sincerely apologize for the frustration you experienced at our location. Please call 1 281-564-6700 to speak with someone from our team with any new concerns. Respectfully, ASL Management
I chose to live in the complex because it is a mid size community. The second reason is because they are pet friendly. The third reason is the office staff. They are awesome. Friendly yet professional and quick to respond to issues. They know me by name and love my dog and they keep doggie treats on the main desk. I have been here since 2014 and just signed another year lease.
The model is beautiful and clean. Once you move in, the apartment is a disaster. Everything is cheaply made. There is pieces of baseboards missing throughout the entire apartment. The tubs are yellowed, I've found a roach the first few days when I moved in even though there was literally no food in the house. The staff offered assistance at first and said they would repair each of my requests but that was not the case. Once I decided to invoke the 30 day satisfaction guarantee, I received an eviction notice for non-payment even though I spoke with Management and arranged a date I was to pay the full months rent in its entirety knowing I would not stay the whole month. Now the management office is non-responsive, will not return emails. Look elsewhere!
The upgrades in these apartments are outstanding! Marble counter tops, great grey paint, and plank floors. The staff is amazing!! If you are looking for an apartment look elsewhere, but if you're looking for a home this is the place to be!!! Ask for Alexandria, she's the best!
These are bad apts. The upgrade is not an upgrade plywood boards nad just painted over. the tub cracks after 1 month and the paint peels and the cabinets buckle and the cabinet doors are just painted over and doesnt shut good. The management team is awful but they are quick to file evictions and charge you outrageous fees. beware do not move there!!!!
The upgrades are only on the surface. Once you settle into the apartment you realize that baseboards are actually cardboard material and under the toilet tops are blackened fill-tanks, and the cupboards don't open/close well because they just took paint to the originals from when the place was built. and open the utility closet and you'll find a giant hunk of junk from decades ago that is not only ugly, not only holding moldy water, but also is absolutely not energy efficient. Our personal experience went horribly wrong, staff was willing to work with us, but I would have preferred a nice home from the beginning.
Amenities are nice & include a cool pool. But access on/off property is hazardous w/ it being on a State Hwy. Mgmt is slow to fix & quick to charge! Close proximity to Constellation Field.
Arcadian at Sugar Land apartments are very nice.. Staff could be more helpful and friendly but overall a good place to live. The countertops are real marble and paint colors are very nice! Love the modern look in the apartment.
