It's reassuring to hear that things are currently going well, and we will do our best to ensure they remain this way. Do not hesitate to reach out if you encounter any other issues — we're here for you!
We've lived here for 3 years. It used to be a decent property, but in the last year it has become total trash. Literally...there's trash everywhere. The grounds are not upkept, it's July 5th and our pool still isn't open, we've had dirty water flood our bathroom twice...I could go on for pages. Save yourself the trouble and the money and look elsewhere.
I wish I would of read the reviews before I moved there!!! If I could give no stars I would! This place is trash, from cracks in the ceilings & walls that they just paint over (not to mention water leaks from those cracks). Apartment structure is put together all wrong, you can literally stick your fingers under the walls, because the carpet and walls don’t meet the correct way. Apartments are not insulated correctly!!! They have 1washer & 1dryer for 8 apartments to a building. People leave there belongings in the washers and dryers all night long leaving you unable to wash!! Leasing staff never answer the phone, they have an offsite office for what I don’t know, because they never can help & the leaseing office says they never receive there offsites office messages so at that point your wasting your time in calling!! They over charge for crap Apartments. No lights in the living rooms. Cheap closet doors. Drains always get clogged. Carpet is loose, lumps in the carpet. Holes under the carpet that you can literally feel with your feet. People don’t do a good job cleaning after there pets. If you have kids that like to play outside good luck! Because they don’t have a Park for children, but have one for dogs that doesn’t get used. The leasing office complains about everything, but they don’t complain about the things they don’t fix!!! Emily probably is the worse to work with. Jessie on the other hand is okay. Lawerence is probably the nicest/honest employee they have on payroll. They do multiple inspections but never fix anything during these inspections, honestly I think they just want to be nosy! Also im pretty sure they haven’t cleaned the ceiling fans since they’ve been installed. Walls are paper thin so you literally hear everything. You can hear someone starting there car outside from your bathroom. You can hear your neighbors water draining & running through the walls. No point in having a patio, because you can’t do as you please on it!!! The Only good thing about this apartment complex is that they keep the grass cut. They care more about Marijuana smells, then they do the leaks in your ceiling. They will tell you that they will fix it when temperatures are warmer, but Summer went by and they still didn’t fix people’s leaky ceilings.

Rude management and very unorganized. Shuts off water without telling residents, takes keys out of apartment before lease is over, and do not listen to residents complaints and issues. Do not recommend living here, everything is cheap, walls are paper thin, and always having maintenance issues.

If I can get just one person to reconsider moving here, I’ll consider my review a success. Warped floorboards, bedroom door doesn’t fully shut, closet doors that don’t shut, kitchen shelves that were filthy when we moved in. And there’s no locks on the front doors of each building, so whenever someone wants to knock on your door to try and sell you internet or religion, they’ll have no problem doing so. There’s plenty of better places in the area for the same price. Keep looking.

Moved in 3 months ago with them promising to fix things right away like our sliding glass door is so old that it bends and you can slide your hand from outside to the inside and unlock it... They said we’d have screens for our windows installed within a month and they haven’t even started the process. Many more issues as well, so no rent from here. You’ll be spending an arm and a leg for poor quality, it’ll just frustrate you just like it does everyone else here. Good Luck with your search for a place to live. :)

I really wish I would’ve listened to all the negative reviews before moving in here. The day I moved in, the neighbors below my unit were moving out and told me all about the mold/water damage in their unit. My floorboards are warped in quite a few places, there’s clearly water damage in the bathroom that was simply painted over. Management is incompetent and the model unit they showed me looked nothing like the unit they gave me. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that maintenance responds quickly to any requests. Seriously, there are much better places to rent from other than Atwood.

My newly renovated ground level apartment flooded within a week of my move in date of 3/1/18. Today is April 25th and I still have a piece of plastic hanging in my living room. They had to jack hammer the concrete in my hallway, remove part of the sheetrock and disassembled my closet I still have equipment and tools in my apartment and the closet is still unusable. It's been impossible to get a completion date from anyone and that's IF you can reach a human being after you spend an hour on hold. Their best offer to date has been to move me across the hall to a previously flooded ground level apartment...seriously??? On top of all of this I have to SCRUB the bottom of my shower every morning because of God knows what that is coming up through the drain everyday. I haven't even been able to unpack and it's been 7 weeks??? How can I fix this??? This has to be against the law. RUN...do not walk...away from this building.
I was in the process of relocating to Minneapolis due to my job. I make good money and thought that the Atwood would be a good place to start. Upon my arrival the individual at the front desk could not have been any less enthused that I walked in ready for a tour. After being interrogated like a child while the rep checked off boxes to make sure I was worth their time I got a tour. And despite the unwelcome visit I accepted the unit and was ready to put my application in following the tour. I was told that you can only apply for a unit that is available within 30 days. So If I wanted to rent a unit that became available in April I would then have to wait until April 1st to submit an application. I left the appointment perplexed at how pretentious the entire interaction went. But after looking at other properties (some much more expensive) I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and at least submit an application to have as a backup if I didn't fall in love with somewhere else. So despite everything I went through the application which was so intrusive that they wanted to know my banking account number and routing number prior to being approved. I get to the last page ready to submit the application and to throw away $40 for the application fee. However they asked for $240 and $140 of that is non-refundable for any reason and does not go towards a deposit of any kind. I called the Atwood and got the some rep who sounded like she would rather be doing anything else than be at work. I explained the situation and asked the rep why it was so high and how long the processing took. The rep then said "if you don' t want to pay it don't apply and it takes 5-7 days." I was shocked so I asked if they had any issues with this in the past because they could easily tell someone they didn't qualify and keep the $140. The rep then said, if you qualify then you shouldn't worry about that. The conversation went on but I eventually told the rep the entire situation about how I still considered living there despite the awful customer experience. That I didn't want to believe the other reviews out there but they are true. That the massive non refundable fee was on the principle of integrity but I was laughed at and she hung up the phone. This location does not care about potential future tenants so how can they care about current tenants. They can not be trusted, they can not be reasoned with, they do not care about you and only want your money

The new owners ( Trinity) took away the community room, the grills (and ability to grill) opened the pool 3.5 weeks after memorial day, still no pool furniture and it's mid July.....They installed lighting in the parking lot that is so bright, we have to have our blinds shut or we would could do shadow puppet shows.... They attempted repainting the exterior even though it was painted 2 years ago, by choosing the most outrageously ugly colors possible, the painting job is simply the worst, clearly not done by professionals.... but somehow stopped mid process without any explanation. They haven't done a single improvement to my apartment (other than replacing a shower head in order to GO GREEN! with a shower head we bought when we moved in to replace the disgusting one provided, but are raising our rent for the second time in the two years we have been here. The current increase would put us at about 50% more than the rent we agreed to 24 months ago. We were told via a note taped to the outside (not my actual apt)door that we have to establish an email account to get any further communications, but I cant enable an account...I have called numerous(more than 5) times to the office during business hours, when the laundry breaks down, and have never received a call back. They completely failed at this transition. This used to be a decent inexpensive place to live. I cannot wait to get out of here.

This is a typical, average place. Recently it was bought by a big California developer, along with a couple of other EP properties. They are "upgrading" empty units with inferior products and raising the rent by several hundred dollars for new renters. They want to compete with other complexes in the area but don't have the amenities or quality to comparable. The current residents all have had their rent increased by anywhere from $100-$200 without any upgrades, or incentives offered, so we are assisting in paying for the upgrades. Your welcome. The new management does not care about you once you rent. They will only care about you until you sign. Please insist on looking at the WHOLE property before you rent, not just the one unit they take you to!! The amenities are ridiculous for a complex this size. 1 filthy, non-functioning grill, filthy, cold pool that is only opened when the one person on site feels like it, and a "fitness center" that has 2 functioning machines and is very unsafe to use. They only clean the areas they will be showing prospective renters. They have decided not to have full-time cleaning staff and the rest of the buildings are filthy. Owners don't pick up after their dogs of course. Kids are running in the streets and screaming and playing in the small yards all summer long. There is no place for them to go. Be prepared to pay for EVERYTHING when you rent here; water, sewer, garbage, pest control, gas, electric. All but electric are a "shared cost" with a formula they derive themselves. They also raise these costs whenever they feel like it. They will also lie about the average cost of electric to you. Unless they upgrade the old furnace/air conditioning units, you can expect to pay appx $150 - $350 a month during the cold/warm weather to keep these apts comfortable.. You will get to see a lot of police here, very often.
DO NOT MOVE into these apartments. They contain BLACK MOLD. I lived there for several years and never felt good. I was always getting sick. So, I asked the Manager of the apartments to have the building tested for BLACK MOLD, but she never did. She never did a thing when she was at the apartment. The owners (Tycon Industries) and the manager of the apartment are horrible. I also had ants on the third floor, which means they were in the walls. I asked to get my apartment sprayed to get rid of the ants, but it never happened and I had to go out and buy my own ant killer. Back to the BLACK MOLD, I asked the horrible manager to have the apartment tested for BLACK MOLD, but she never did. Now, after me living there for many years, I finally moved out. They found BLACK MOLD under my bathtub. They are trying to blame me for the
Pretty sure the walls are filled with bugs on the inside, within the course of 2 months we've had an infestation of wasps and bees. Out of the air vents happen to come out water bug centipedes and flies. When management was told about this several times, they didn't send anyone out until after a few more months. When moving in we were promised a repaired microwave and a fixed kitchen floor (the floor was cracked and starting to rot). Here we are 8 months later with no progress. The icing on the cake is their inability to keep track of your rent payments and do basic math(if you move in, keep receipts and track all of our payments, I did and I am very glad for it)
Moved into phase2 building 3 months back and good so far.
