A tree-filled Vernon Hills -- with its winding lanes and period light posts -- resembles a rural community more than a suburb of Chicago, but this terrific city is about 35 miles from Downtown Chicago -- a one-hour ride on the Metra. The Vernon Hills Metra Station is located on the south side of the city, near Hawthorn Club Park. Take Ranney Avenue off Highway 45. If you find a Vernon Hills apartment within biking distance, you'll find plenty of bike racks at the station.
Vernon Hills is considered a shopping destination for much of the surrounding communities; it features several popular shopping plazas and the Hawthorn Mall. The mall is located near the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Townline Road. Several restaurants, bars, movie theaters, an ice-skating rink, and a bowling alley are also in this area.
With its beautiful setting, residents of Vernon Hills have access to a variety of parks and lakes.

I love the cleanliness of these apartments, my apartment will never be as clean as when I first received it. The hallways are always taken care of very well and the property looks pristine. The maintenance staff and office staff are both amazing people to work with. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for somewhere quiet and calm to settle down at.

The Atworth has amenities for tenants and pets alike and is located steps away from shopping, dining and groceries. Met a lot of great people living here. Pool is great when open. The other amenities are average. Overall, in my opinion after living here for over 2 years, the cost exceeds the value. A potential renter may want to look elsewhere until rates become reasonable again. This will likely happen once the new apartments open across the street at Hawthorn Mall.

We have lived in the Atworth for 3 months now and could not be happier. We love our apartment, the quality of the appliances and finishes, and enjoy the location. The management has kept the amenities very COVID safe and the residents on a whole are very mask compliant. The thing that has absolutely been over the top is the responsiveness of property management to maintenance and upkeep. Since we have lived here, they have replaced all the hall flooring and are constantly working around the property to keep it looking nice. They are also super quick to respond to any issues (which have been very minor things like fixing a blind) we've had within our apartment. I mean within hours of a request, things are taken care of. They even helped us hang pictures. Everyone who works here is very polite and friendly. They are VERY dog friendly here. They have a great dog run (which is cared for on a daily basis) as well as bags and drop stations around the property. They are also very responsive to snow removal so dogs have a non snowy place to go. We have gone out EARLY in the morning after a snow and places are already cleared. It is very impressive. I highly recommend this property! We are extremely glad we chose to live here. We are empty-nesters with a dog. This is a quiet, well kept, and convenient place to live!

I've had a terrific experience being apart of the Atworth community! The floorpans are so well designed and my unit is very quiet considering it's a multi-family living space. Love the convenience of the location too!

The atworth are amazing apartments to live in. Everyone is very professional and kind. I love how new and clean the atworth are. Everything is cozy and can very easily be called home.

The Atworth is in a great location that allows you to feel like youre living in the suburbs, but with additional benefits like close proximity to restaurants and stores. You could walk to many of the plazas right here on the better weather and thats a positive for me. There is plenty of parking available inside the garage and outside as well.

The cleaning lady does an excellent job as does the maintenance staff. The pool is very enjoyable during the months that it is open.

"We moved in a couple of weeks ago and couldnt be happier. The front office has been wonderful to work with from our first visit, to answering questions prior to move in, to being responsive to our needs in the first few days after moving in. Our place is in great condition with very nice finishes and appliances. The maintenance staff is quick to respond and very helpful. They helped us hang a few things and could not be nicer. We are also impressed with the amount of overall maintenance throughout the complex.
