Property Ratings at The Austin Apartment Homes
The staff is so sneaky and incompetent it’s literally a joke in that office. Not to mention it’s always flooded and full of trash. You’ll pay way to much money only to have the office trick you into downgraded apartments and they’ll raise your rent every 6 months unreal. Wish I could’ve put ZERO stars
Property Manager at The Austin Apartment Homes, Responded To This Review
We're sorry, and disappointed, to read this. We obviously fell short on the service we strive to provide. We'd still like to make things right. Please feel free to visit the Leasing Office at anytime.
Office management is unpleasant. Appliances are cheap and washer doesn't wash anything bulky. Unfair move out charges!!!
We’ve lived here for over 2 years. The community is well maintained, the units are amazing, and the amenities are top notch. The property management is responsive and truly cares about their residents.
Recent follow-up - Same issues as stated below. Keep hearing “we’re working on it”. Smoking prohibited on patios. Residents below me chain smoke all day. Caused a severe asthma attack and needed emergency treatment. My entire apartment stinks like cigarettes. Have to constantly run my air conditioner. $$$. The property manager finally refused to address me, and the issue, directing me to her supervisor. Neither he or his boss responded to my requests to talk either! Yet they’ll respond to this by saying “so sorry to hear this. Come to the office so we can learn more about your concerns”. Hahaha People keep entering the pool area and partying all night. Management tells us to call the police. The police can’t do anything because no notification was made to the residents that they can’t be back there. Finally, 8 months later, they send an email out. It took 8 months to enforce a safety issue? Originally, the property manager thought it would be a great idea to chain the fire exit door shut. See other comments below about “rude and condescending!!!! It’s time for ownership to evaluate who they have managing this place. For years, there used to be a waiting list to move in. Not anymore. Has anyone ever wondered why??? Property littered with dog waste, used condoms, broken glass and drug paraphernalia. Apartments always get scotch-taped repairs. Amnesties broken or not available at times that would be conducive to the average person's schedule. Only one concern by management and that's profits. Can't move out quick enough!!!!! Now we're being told that we cannot access our apartments for 8 hours because they're painting the breezeways. If you're home, you have to stay home and if you're out, you have to stay out. What about pets or kids returning from school? The previous management company did it in pieces to not inconvenience the residents. Everything is done on their schedule and timeframes without any regard for the residents.
If you look at the pictures and say "oh cool, such a nice place and decor," it is all illusion. If you read the reviews before me, they were all generic written by office staff. None of the units look like this. In fact, it is an over priced place with poor staff manners and poor maintainance. If you look for a decent place, well that is not here either. First of all, the place is very noisy. Every time someone slams a door, the whole building shakes because of disquality materials used during construction. So, the whole building must wake up at the same time. Secondly, there is never enough hot water, which makes living here almost unbearable. Other than that, the maintainance is extremely terrible. There are a few guys who are nice, but for most repairs, they hire the cheapest contractors. As a result, each repair takes at least four to five visits. If you are OK with creepy visitors, this is the place for you because they sometimes hire really scary looking guys too. Moreover, the trash cans are always full and you can never recycle. There is a symbolic recycling container and it's always full. If you have a problem, the office manager can be very mean and once you sign the contract they act like they can get away with whatever. They neither care for you or the environment. The entrance of the building is almost always filthy and there is always some sort of leakage problem going on either within the unit or at the entrance. Most of the time, there is construction going on. The rent is very high and unstable (they raise the rents whenever) considering the low Deptford NJ house prices and environment. Overall, I'm running away and recommend you do exactly the same.
This apartment is a great and very spacious. I love the area it is very convenient to go to work. My neighbors are really friendly.
I can honestly say that The Club at Locust Grove has a community like no other. First of all, our 3 bed/2bath apartment with a loft is really roomy with the vaulted ceilings. The gas fireplace, gas stove, and the deck are also extremely underrated amenities. The apartment itself is a perfect fit. However, what's a place to live without the community and neighborhood to go with it? The neighbors are friendly and close with each other which makes everything that much better. The last thing that really impressed me was how well the pool and fitness center are maintained. I feel like I'm living in a resort.
I've lived at the club for many years and enjoyed my time here. Great neighborhood, convenient to major roads and shopping areas The rent is in-line with many other apartments in the area. The staff has always been helpful and responsive to the few maintenance requests I've had over the years. Great neighbors, nice place to live.
