Property Ratings at The Aventine at Oakhurst North

Overall terrible experience. Everything seems good when touring then once you get in your place it all goes downhill fast! Moved in to a filthy apartment, floors were full of dirt and walls were not cleaned they just painted over them. Was dog hair in the paint and you can tell all the damage was painted over. Then at the start of winter they didn’t turn on our heat and then even better during the peak of winter we were left without heat hot water and electricity for a week. Then it took 2 weeks with hours wasted trying to contact management for the situation. The only reason it even got fixed after a week was because I had to call a city inspector on them and he saw all the city violations that was going on. Then after that we have had 2 pipes leak which are poorly repaired and they just left the stains on the wall. Not to mention all the other small things that have happened. ( I have have had a minimum of 20 maintenance issues in under 1 year of living here) and each time they happen I have to waste hours trying to contact someone to fix it. I can go on and on about how bad this place is and how awful the management is. Assistant property manager is very rude as well which is the only manager they even have working here.

Nothing ever got fix in are unit. And the unit above us always had a water leak issue that would leak into are unit. Garbage fee other fees water fee for both every month and you get charge for paying rent on the app and that’s the only way to pay your rent. They don’t take checks or money orders

Since Hayman took over. Please run from them as fast as you can!! Rudest management and office staff!! Charge you $30 non negotiable for garbage pickup. Seriously for $30 i will take out my garbage and all my neighbors garbage. Insane!! Dog poop everywhere and with too many to count poop stations overflowing no replacement bags ever!! Nothing but mud to walk your dogs in. Make sure you lock your cars. Break-ins and package theft inevitable!! And don't even try to get a maintenance problem solved. Think they recruit from day workers cause they have no idea how to fix anything. We used to have professionals. Not sure what you would call what they send out. If you hear nothing from this review…then dont even stop to inquire…save your self!!!

Highly unprofessional maintenance and Leasing team. It’s been 5 months I moved to this apartment, the stove is a pretty old one and causes problem frequently. Monthly creating 2 tickets and issues occurs. Simply the maintenance blamed the resident and even after showing video evidence to leasing office, leasing staff is sticking with maintenance person lies. Really annoying experience. Leasing Staff suggested alternative solutions to run the stove on our own.. Really scared to live with a Problematic Stove, and don’t want to stuck in any FIRE HAZARDS OR EXPLOSIONS....The Problem Continues..

There are many strengths to this complex. The apartments are wonderfully spacious, the grounds are kept, maintenance is quick to fix issues, the location is quiet and close to 59, and the amenities are fantastic. The indoor pool is one of the best draws to the units. Unfortunately, they are a bit pricey for the area. The water is a flat rate, up to $70 a month on top of the higher rent rates. I've come to understand this was a change that took place when the new company took over the property last year. However, it is way too much to charge for water/sewage/trash. On top of that, they are constantly inside apartments, though proper legal notice is given. Since I have lived here, every month, at least once, some excuse has been given to come into my apartment. This has gone from being an annoyance to invasive. I've never lived anywhere where this has occurred and it is making me reconsider living here after my lease is up. I value my privacy and these continual interruptions are not only problematic but also a security concern, in my estimation. While I would not say not to move to this complex, I would have liked to know upfront that my home would constantly be come into. They do report if your home is clean to corporate, as I was told by a maintenance worker. So this also leads me to wonder if they are "keeping a very watchful eye" on those residing here. While my home is very clean, it is something else to note before moving into the property.
Very clean and well lit at night. During the winter snow is removed quickly and all sidewalks are covered immediately with salt. Any repairs where done quickly and professionally. The swimming pools are nice and the fitness center is average (unable to control tv volume...not a deal breaker). Overall the community is great and never an issue with any neighbors. Rent is a little high but overall good experience.
Coming to the States from Africa was not an easy move. We hit Jackpot first time by staying at the Aventine. The office staff were pleasant .The apartments are well maintained. Any problems and they would attend. The rooms are large with large walk in closets. Quiet surroundings quiet neighbors. Nice gym and heated indoor pool. We tried to move but cannot find anything as good and clean as these apartments. It's our third year at these apartments and the proof of the pudding is in the eating! Pradeepkumar Chouhan.
We love our new townhome apartment. Staff is great also.
Wonderful apartments with spacious rooms, bathrooms and living areas. Excellent indoor and outdoor pool facilities and gym. Grounds are always well maintained. Ideally located in a top school district with easy access to the metro, shops, restaurants and mall. Its like being at home in your ideal vacation spot.
Clean, pretty well kept property. 2-bedroom, enough room. Have garage (leaks) but great place for storage. Very loud off the street, can't leave windows open. Stairs a little rough for older person. But again clean and everything works. Good management company.
We have been here for over a year now and overall have been satisfied with this property. The new management has been continuesly making improvements and upgrades. The amenities are better than most other complexes offer. Indoor and outdoor pools, decent fitness center, office/conference room and recently remodeled the clubhouse. Maintenance staff is diligent in rectifying any issues.
I've been living here since 2012 and have had a pretty great experience here. Pros: Apartments are really good size and I love that they have utility rooms vs having the washer/dryer in a closet. One of my faves about the apartment itself is the soaking tubs. They've just added a dog park, which my boxer loves. Cons: The parking is a bit of an issue. It's first come first serve and it seems like there are loads of contractors living here right now with their enormous trucks and trailers. The pool is crowded with people inviting their friends over. Makes taking the kids uneasy since the "adults" take over the area and tend to crowd the kids out with their diving football game of catch. Have to know what you're willing to put up with.
My husband and I are were new to the Naperville/Aurora area. When were looking for apartments in this Aurora area, the Aventine at Oakhurst North stood out to us instantly because of how visually appealing the outside of the apartments looked. We loved that the outside of the apartment looked more like a house rather than a plain apartment complex. We also were drawn to the fact that we have our own private entry way that gives us even more privacy. Due to the fact that we were moving across the states, we didn't have a chance to visit the apartment in person. We relied on photos, reviews, and phone calls with the staff. when we moved in, the apartment was exactly what we wanted and it was exactly how it was described. The staff did an excellent job with answering all of our questions and made us feel so welcome when we moved here. The apartment is just like new inside, and the layout is great! We put in a request for maintence for our shelving in the closet and it was fixed within the next hour! I would reccomend this apartment to anyone and if you are moving across the states like we did, find comfort in knowing these apartments are exactly what they say they are on the website and more. We have loved our experience here at the Aventine so far and are excited to be here!
I have been happy overall living here. The apartments are good sized and feel more like townhomes. I do pay an arm and a leg for rent though. Also the parking lot has a lot of holes that flood every rain which is frustrating when you're standing in a pond trying to buckle your child into their car seat.
