Covina-Valley is a large area south of Arrow Highway, about 20 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles. The town is densely populated with modern amenities and several businesses scattered throughout. Renters have a large rental market with a variety of apartments and spacious single-family homes to choose from. Warehouses, manufacturing plants, and offices are situated in the northwestern corner of town while shopping centers are located along the main thoroughfares. Although the neighborhood is accessible to the big city to the west, outdoor recreation is abundant in and around town. Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area is north of town while the San Jose Hills are nestled in the southern portion of town. More great features just outside of town include California State Polytechnic University, Mount San Antonio College, and Brackett Field Airport.

Property Ratings at The Bahamas
My family rented an apartment at the Bahamas for 15 plus years and experienced a lot of negative changes in the past two years. The building faced two new ownership changes in two years and this translated into steep rent increases and no sense of loyalty to the people who are reliable tenants. Our monthly rental payment increased 200 all at once a year ago, followed by another 75 dollar increase the next year. The prices go up ever year and you don't get what you pay for. This past year they made ridiculous and menial repairs and then hiked up the rent for everyone the very next day and right before Christmas. It's really close to the metro train tracks and crossing and you do hear the train honk its horn day and night. It's a very busy street and you also hear car traffic all of the time. The windows do not block out the noise. I used to sleep with ear plugs and headphones. Tenants have been known to throw loud parties and are not respectful if they keep you awake. The building often smells like marijuana and some tenants can be found baking in their car. People often leave the front gates open and I know someone's bike was stolen last year. Trash is often overflowing in the parking area and they won't pay for an extra trash bin because it is too expensive. The building is outdated. The stairways very rarely get cleaned anymore and it looks dirty. They washing and drying units are outdated with smaller capacity washers so you have to pay more to wash. I rarely did my laundry there. We left because the rent was just too expensive and it's not worth it. This is the case for most of Los Angeles. The county needs better rent control. I'm looking forward to stop throwing away my money by renting and being able to afford my own house elsewhere. The only thing nice I can say is that I never had my apartment broken into or my car stolen and overall I felt safe living there.
