Property Ratings at The Barton Apartments
I do not recommend this place. While the highway is close with easy access, the road noise is extremely loud. The A/C noise is also loud throughout the year. Especially on the higher floors, you will hear a humming sound all year long. The parking gate often malfunctions, and I have been unable to go out on few occasions because of it. There is a huge leak on garage floor, which makes garage very uncomfortable. While most staffs are kind, some staff members, in particular, are extremely unfriendly. When I asked a staff to address the issue of the downstairs neighbor playing the TV loudly all night, the staff only replied, "I will." But there was no change afterward. It was really killing me because the neighbor was playing the TV loudly every day that I cannot get asleep. When I asked multiple times for more than just a response of ‘I will’, I requested that they actually speak to the downstairs neighbor and ‘then’ let me know what steps had been taken. However, I only ever received the same response: "I will talk to the unit". I was never informed of what the staff said to the neighbor or how the neighbor responded. Honestly, if they had spoken to the unit after several requests, they could have told me how did it go, right? After moving out, additional fees that were not in the contract were charged. When I sent them the contract file, pointing out that such fees were not in the contract, they claimed I had to pay based on an 'addendum' that I had never received. I don't understand why they only provided us with the main contract and not the addendum. Additionally, I sold my car during my stay. I informed them in advance of the sale and asked for a refund of the parking fees after the car was sold. The staff said, "I can work on that," but after I moved out, the person asked if I had any evidence of that conversation or written proof, and refused to refund me. Despite me mentioning it at least three times and receiving a verbal promise on the day I moved out, they say, "Do you have proof in writing?" I was speechless.

We had an extremely disappointing experience. Despite numerous positive online reviews, my husband and I were excited to apply to an apartment. Upon contacting the staff, we proceeded to apply online and were charged $200. . I encountered technical difficulties on their websites when attempting to make payments as they were supposed to charge $300 instead. Shaunna told me to not worry by saying " the apartments is yours. Regrettably to our surprise they allocated the apt to someone else while still charging us a $200 application fee. When I addressed this issue to Morgan, she stated, " we gave it to another party who paid on time" I strongly advise anyone to exercise caution and avoid wasting money on an application fee.

I just moved in and I already know I’m going to love it. The day I moved in there were 3 other people moving in and I could tell the office staff was really busy but they still took the time to sit down with me to go over important info, answer my questions, and make sure I felt welcomed. Taylor is really nice and friendly and Ariel seems to know just about everything there is to know about the property! The property manager even came out to introduce herself to me when I was moving in. My apartment is awesome and I have a great view! Very happy with my decision to move to the Barton
The ladies in the leasing office are always super friendly and helpful. They communicate with the residents about important things happening around the building all the time, and they are always willing to answer any questions I ever have about anything. They really make each resident feel special, and they all seem to know EVERYONE’S name (and our dog’s names too! ??). Ariel and Taylor are always smiling even when you can tell they are crazy busy. And the new manager Amy seems really nice and even came out of her office to personally introduce herself to me! The amenities are great and always very clean and well kept. I’m really looking forward to the pool opening soon!
This place has gone downhill fast. When I moved in I really was happy here but the management company is awful and have excuses for everything. Recently the FBI, DEA, and Homeland Security were here for a raid. Still haven’t heard any formal communication from the building owners (Covington) or the management company (Laramar). Currently we have no access to any of the amenities, services, or maintenance we were promised when we moved in. People are leaving in droves.
The management is not responsive. The pool and surrounding area are closed to residents and there are no answers as to why the doors are locked and pool not accessible. Look elsewhere for your residence.
