Property Ratings at The Bay Club
When I moved into my apartment at Bay Club, I was immediately greeted by a kitchen sink full of maggots. The gate to the property was turned off by management one week into my tenancy due to an impending storm and was not turned back on after the storm passed. This allowed the local homeless population access to the property where they would rummage through the dumpster and leave trash throughout the parking lot. This issue was especially bad at night and left me with an extremely uneasy feeling when I went to sleep. On my second day at Bay Club, I witnessed an ambulance on the property caring for a person who had overdosed on some sort of drug in the parking lot. The odor of marijuana surrounds my apartment most nights and I have witnessed people walking down the sidewalk smoking joints. I addressed the issue with management and wanted to terminate the lease but their response was I could either fulfil the lease payments or have a broken lease placed on my credit report. I would not recommend Bay Club apartments in any capacity.

I moved in shortly after the property went under new management in 2020 and have loved living here. The office and maintenance staff are so incredibly helpful and timely. Every single time I've had a question, they have gone out of their way to answer it. Any time I've had an issue that maintenance has had to deal with, it's always been fixed within the day (one time they came 20 minutes after I put in a non-emergent request!). I know they may not all be 'luxury' apartments (although some are close with the new renovations), you can see the effort they are making to bring improvements to the apartments and property. As a single gal, I feel very safe within this community here.

I honestly hate living here. I have to detail clean the kitchen every single night so the roaches won’t come out. As soon as they smell food it’s a war zone! It’s very disgusting and I feel uncomfortable making food for my family. I have a 3 month old baby and even found roaches in her dirty clothes one time. The apartments (at least the cheapest one which I’m in) are pretty much all carpet and the roaches LIVE in the carpet. I have to vacuum every day in order for it to feel moderately clean. I can’t put my baby down for tummy time in fear of the roaches touching her. We will be breaking our lease because we just NEED out. I’m sorry I really wanted to like these apartments as it was our first one as a family of 3. I normally wouldn’t right a review but it really is as bad as it seems.

A/C has been broken for 3 weeks now. They knew about the problem the day that it happened. I've walked into that office every day since BEGGING for some kind of update of which 9 times out of 10 they have none. Today I walked in for the millionth time (at this point both the women in the front office now who I am) to ask what is going on and one of them had the nerve to ask me what I wanted to know about it. I want to know when its going to be fixed?!?! I'm paying a fortune to run the little a/c that I DO have in the hot Texas summer and they don't seem to care in the least. By the way, this happened literally the DAY that I moved in. Texas is hot in the summer. I understand because of that, A/C units are in high demand this time of year and I am sympathetic to that situation. But that doesn't change the fact that they have zero sense of urgency when I am paying TRIPLE what I should be for my electricity, nor does it change the fact that it took them 2 weeks to figure out what the problem even was in the first place because their "maintenance crew is understaffed, we only have one person for the entire complex". Sounds like your problem, so why does it feel like its mine? Unbelievable. Won't be renewing and I'll be telling every single person I can find that's looking for an apartment to not move here unless they enjoy living, sleeping, and eating in a sauna.

I have lived at Bay Club for over a year. It has been a good place to live, especially for the price. Recently, the staff have been making improvements to the property (not just restoring hurricane damages). The improvements have really made a difference. The staff have always been very helpful but the job they are doing now really stands out. Knowing that the staff and management really care about the property and the residents is so great! If you are looking for a lower cost apartment complex, I really recommend Bay Club. The staff are great at maintaining and repairing anything that needs improvements, in a timely manner, and are always friendly. When comparing other complexes in the area, with similar rent ranges, I am happy I choose Bay Club. I would rather use the onsite laundry facilities and go without an onsite gym at a place with staff who really care about the residents and property than have in unit washer and dryer connections and a tiny onsite "gym" at a location that has unmotivated management.

The worst apartments I have ever lived in! This place is roach infested horribly! Felipe is scum! He is so rude and condescending! He should NOT be running an apartment complex! for every complain you have, call NORTHLAND COMMUNITIES and complain to his bosses! Trust me, your issues will be resolved through them! I cannot wait until my lease is up so I can move out! Felipe, if you're reading this, take a long look in the mirror if you need to know why your complex is running itself to the ground!!!

If you are thinking about living here, please read my story. I moved to Texas from Michigan back in August 2015. The Bay Club had seemingly good reviews online and so, I signed a lease without seeing my apartment. This was a big mistake. The apartment I moved into was roach infested. There were hundreds of roaches in my fridge and in my kitchen. I contacted the leasing office and they has pest control come out each week until I moved out. However, all pest control does is put a little gel on the floor. The problem did not improve and I was still seeing hundreds of roaches each week. I was spending my evenings fighting roaches with spray I purchased myself. I couldn't eat in my apartment and my mental health suffered due to anxiety. After a month of sending emails and maintenance requests, I submitted my letter stating I was going to terminate the lease because they had not taken care of the problem. They AGREED and let me out of the lease without any trouble. By agreeing to let me out they are stating that they knew it was a problem and they were not taking care of it. This is the shortened version of my story but these details are enough to share how terrible my experience was. Since terminating my lease I have moved into a different complex. In this apartment I have seen 2 roaches in the last 4 month of living here. Please do not live at the Bay Club and experience what I did.

When you drive through the gates at bay club apartments, it can look quite nice. But living here is another story. Not only are you paying for the deposit either 350 refundable or 150 non refundable or maybe you'll pay both because you have no credit. Not to bad, right? I paid both on top of the 400 each animal which In my case I have two. So already that's 1300 just in deposits. But you can't forget about the 10 each animal every month for pet rent, so if you have animals it's going to end up costing you a fortune. I had a huge roach infestation problem for months they sprayed weekly but they just kept coming back. My problems kept on getting ignored or just lost because they couldn't keep any agents around long enough to fix the problem. Management and agent communication could be better. Maintaince around this place hardly ever gets done, the gate in the front is constantly broken. So anyone can get in. And there's been a few break ins. Late at night when your walking your dog or getting your laundry don't be surprised if you see the local homeless in the trash cans or taking a bath in the pool. Make sure you keep your pepper spray on hand ladies. You never know when your going to need it around here. Half of the dryers and washing machines are always broken and by the time they get one fixed another is broken again. They only have one laundry room 14 washers and 14 dryers for this entire complex. That's roughly 600 people, so good luck with trying to get a machine. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The communication between management staff could be better. Our move-in day was delayed due to them not changing out bad carpet that was pet-stained. Walking into the apartment to complete the checklist, the carpet was in extremely poor condition. We immediately went back down to the office. They then apologized and stated that they were unaware of the condition and that it was worse than expected, so they prorated us some days and rescheduled our move-in date to a monday rather than the weekend we had planned out. This caused us to reschedule our work days and having a loaded truck-full of stuff with nowhere to go. Other mishaps include giving us the wrong gatecode to enter the complex and forgetting to give us the key to the laundry room. Management staff could use some inprovement in handling certain situations.

Don't be fooled by the clean exterior from the front gate to the office , OF course that is kept up , the property and staff here aren't that great,they are very nice until AFTER you sign then lease , then they are very rude and unhelpful, things go unfixed for days and weeks,and sometimes large things go unfixed for months!! If your AC isn't working then be prepared to bake for a few days until "we get to it " , I know several residents here that all say they have had similar experiences. They have had many apartments vacant for awhile due to this and many other things. Its against the lease to have a window AC but yet several apartments have put them in, and the management does nothing , its also against the lease to use your balcony as storage,only outdoor furniture and plants, and again the management does nothing , its also a violation to have anything but blinds showing to the exterior but you guessed it , many apt's have foil, blankets,and other things hanging in windows and the management does nothing . They do not treat the exterior for insects as many complexes do , so its over run with fleas,ticks and roaches. As to interior, Pest control is often seen just knocking on doors and when no one answers the just move on rather then entering and spraying as they are suppose to , as a result even if you have your apt sprayed and neighbors have problems but dont get sprayed then those problems become yours,other places we have lived always have a employee accompany the pest control to insure apts and being sprayed NOT here. Also dont be fooled by "Gated Access" 90% of the time its broke and wide open , and even when it works people can and do just walk through the people gates. Cars get broken in to a lot , and one friend said there apt actually got broken in to . Could be a decent place but the staff apparently would rather sit in their AC (by the way the office is ALWAYS a cool 72-74 when we have gone in ) while we sit and bake in our apt for days, or getting out on property and giving lease violations to those who break it , or picking up the trash that sits on the grounds for days and weeks sometimes. I WILL NOT recommend this place to a friend and cant wait for my lease to be up to move!!

These apartments are not very well-maintained at all. The parking is sufficient , but has potholes everywhere. The laundry mat works about half the time . Lots of change in management and staff .
