Nestled between Albuquerque's Old Town and the Rio Grande River, West Park and the surrounding area plays host to the Albuquerque Country Club and Albuquerque BioPark. It sits in the shadow of Downtown Albuquerque to the east and remains cooler and more verdant than other parts of Albuquerque because of the Rio Grande, which runs through it. Despite the area's proximity to high-profile attractions and downtown hotspots, the cost of living remains relatively affordable for the area, making for it an attractive option.

Property Ratings at The Beach
For several years The Beach Apartments have been my home and I hope to be here for many more! It’s safe, quiet, and affordable to live here (for such a city-central spot)and you can’t beat the location convenience —close to downtown, Old Town, the bosque, biopark, etc. The management staff is always available and attentive. Apartment maintenance is always completed well and quickly any time I’ve required it. Plus, they keep the pool in beautiful condition. It’s truly a unique place to live in Albuquerque.
I've lived here for seven years and have recommended these apartments to friends in the past but not anymore. Our old manager was excellent - she was a visible presence in the complex and she genuinely cared about the property and the people who lived here. Since she retired a few months ago it has really gone down hill and it's getting worse. The stairways are a mess; there's cigarette butts, old caution tape, ripped up wet paint signs, piles of dried leaves and bits of trash blowing around everywhere. The garbage is always piled up around the dumpster now, and I do mean always and at times it's a LOT of garbage that's there for days! In addition to the trash bags and loose trash there's been an old couch, arm chair and desk out there for over two weeks. It's nasty and it stinks! And it's right in front of the building too - so nice to come home to. People are having loud parties and unlike the last manager this one is doing nothing about it. And the neon lights on the front of the building are burned out and not being replaced - which means the parking lots are nice and dark and unsafe at night. The best part? They're raising the rent on people when their lease comes up for renewal - something they've never done. BTW, the rents they've got listed aren't even close to reality. I live in a two bedroom and I pay over $800. My neighbor pays almost as much as I do and they're raising his rent.
new manager is bad and people get away with breaking the law - stay away. Not safe, not quiet!
This is an incredible place to call home, nice apartments, great staff and a welcoming community to live in. I would recommend it to anyone.
Very well maintained, wonderfully situated complex within walking distance to Tingley Beach, Old Town, the BioPark, etc. Backed by the Albuquerque Country Club and with one exit/entrance, this complex is very safe and not too noisy even though it is right on the corner of Tingley and Central. One of the few complexes in the city to have in unit washers and dryers and the appliances are up to date. Maintenance is busy as he shares his time between two complexes but is attentive when needed. Management is on-site, friendly, helpful, and does not put up with shenanigans (problem tenants do not remain tenants here, period). Neighbors are typically quiet yet friendly and do look out for each other. While children are welcome here this is very much an adult complex and there are no on-site amenities for kids such as a playground, though there is a nice, large pool open during the summer. Also, visitor parking is limited and assigned parking is enforced. And, finally, the rents are excellent and stable; a lot of bang for your buck here.
We have lived at the Beach for over 10 years and love it here! The apartment manager is excellent and very responsive. Maintenance issues are quickly attended to. It's a little noisy from the traffic on Central, but living next to Tingley Beach and the Rio Grande Nature Trail makes it all worth it!!
