Living at Beacon Clarendon has been a fantastic experience. The modern, well-designed apartments offer spacious layouts with high-end finishes that immediately make you feel at home. The windows provide an abundance of natural light, and the views of Arlington are incredible, especially during sunset. The building’s amenities, like the rooftop pool and lounge, state-of-the-art fitness center, and coworking spaces, are top-notch. Another highlight is the location—Clarendon is a vibrant, walkable neighborhood. Having easy access to shops, restaurants, and the Metro makes commuting to D.C. or enjoying a night out very convenient. The community events organized by the building management are also a great way to meet neighbors and feel part of a community. While the rent is on the higher side, the overall living experience at Beacon Clarendon, with its luxurious features, convenience, and community vibe, definitely makes it worth it.

Maintenance is very fast and knowledgeable. Package system is well run. Gym is nice. Rooftop and club room are great perks. Location is perfect, no lights to 66 and quiet enough for being in the center of Clarendon.

Hi there! Thank you for your feedback on your experience at Beacon Clarendon. We appreciate your positive review and the five-star rating! Warm regards, Marcuita Sweeting, General Manager
The building is excellent and I love my apartment. However, the music noise level from the Clarendon Ballroom outdoor rooftop (and sometimes Don Tito’s) is egregious and unconscionable. It is living inside a nightclub every weekend with the bass reverberating across the indoor walls of the apartments , at least three days out of the week for 5 hours at a time. With great sadness and frustration I now have to seek alternate housing, against my wishes.

Sapna, We are sorry to hear that your experience with us was negative due to the noise from nearby bars and restaurants. We would be truly saddened to see you leave, so we would like the chance to speak with you and explore the option of transferring you to another apartment within the building that is away from the noise. Please let us know if you are available this week to talk, and we will be happy to provide you with information on the available apartments. Sincerely, Marcuita Sweeting, General Manager
Leasing office is very helpful and the front desk helped out a lot with my move in. Lobby’s nice, unit is nice as well. Great location in Arlington.

Great apartment, friendly staff! The only negative I've had so far is: almost every early morning, except on the weekends, I hear very loud beeping and throwing of things from what I think is the loading dock and garbage truck. It is quite frustrating as it is early in the morning, and not just once a week. It is also very loud and can be heard by others on my work calls! Wish there was a way to change the timings or frequency, to later in the day.

The staff here at The Beacon is incredible! The best concierges, so friendly and professional. Shoutout Tiana and Rahel! The maintenance staff are quick to respond and have fixed all my requests in less than 24 hours, and usually in five to ten minutes. Nia in the residence office is so nice and helpful as well. We love living here. So pet friendly as well.

The apartment complex is in a really good location. There’s grocery options walking distance, the metro is right outside, and there are lots of popular bars and clubs nearby. At the same time, it is far enough away so that it is still very peaceful.

I have lived in the Beacon Clarendon for 3 years. The maintenance staff is always very responsive and helpful, as well as the front desk staff. Some negatives I have encountered are the ever-broken elevators in the building and the high turnover in the leasing office.

I’ve loved living at The Beacon for over a year and a half now. The location and amenities are great. They are always very helpful with any maintenance request and Monica is an amazing front desk manager. The only complaint would be the construction, which I know is out of their control

Great management and great location. I really like this place.
I lived at the Beacon for 2.5 years and it started out great. The previous management was fantastic but it has gone way down hill from there. The current management is completely unresponsive or useless - from multiple emails about the grills not working on the roof (took over a month to take care of), to an email asking if they could require the fob to get on each floor/stairwell in building 2 (there is no doorman and we got MULTIPLE emails about a man who attacked a woman at a building nearby and to be "safe" yet nothing was done upon request), to no response when I emailed asking what steps needed to be taken before move out, which resulted in a FAT move out bill -- even then when I tried to ask questions I didn't receive a response until I sent another email to follow up!!! The majority of the front desk people are worse - facetiming friends while you stand there and wait for them to be done to get your package, one creepy concierge wiggling his eyebrows asking you what's in the package, multiple instances of missing packages only to be found the next day, and so on... The units are nice enough but missed some basics like no fan in the bathroom, no hand towel holder in the bathroom, windows don't really open, the sink in the kitchen was AWFUL and never drained from day 1, and the gym mats were never replaced in all 2.5 years I lived there - yuck. Units are small for what you pay and management is terrible - the only real perks were location and the pool.
Pros: The location is central and the units look nice. Cons: The quality of the furnishings is a bit wanting. The windows are poorly designed, such that (1) you cannot open them more than about 2 inches (there is a rubber stopper preventing opening further), (2) if you try to close the window when the latch is locked, it will jam up against the edge and warp the rubber frame. When I moved in, the previous tenant had apparently had a lot of trouble with this, and the window frame was all mashed up, but the management did not replace. The laminate on the floor (not real hardwood) is peeling in places and can snag on a broom or vacuum cleaner. And the walls are thin, and you can hear your neighbors. There was a change of ownership about one month after I signed. They are cold, unaccommodating, and it really feels like all they care about is extracting as much money from you as possible. The new property manager, Greg Uy, is an unpleasant and unfriendly little ogre. Example: I was going outside to smoke (because smoking is not allowed in the units, and also because I don't like my unit smelling like cigarettes), and as I'm going outside with an unlit cigarette, Greg gets in my face and says, flexing his petty authority, "Smoking is not allowed in the building. You can't smoke in the building!" I show him the cigarette, inform him that it's unlit, and that I am going outside to smoke, to which he brusquely replies, "I know. I'm just telling you. Smoking is not allowed in the building!" He's like a mall cop. The doormen when I first signed the lease were pretty friendly and personable. After the change in management, it seems they are paying poorly, because the doormen (or... "concierges") are cold and bored, sometimes sleeping at the desk, and they rotate out very frequently. I don't think there's been anyone working here more than a month before they quit. So don't expect the doormen to know your name, because they'll quit before they can learn who the residents are. Also, although they advertise 24 hour "concierge" service, there's almost never anyone working the night shift (security?). Other than that, it's near the bars (which you may or may not appreciate), which means that you can hear loud music booming through the walls at night, drunk 20-something douchebros wander around all evening on Fridays and Saturdays. I have on multiple occasions had the displeasure of witnessing wasted douchebros urinating on the building.

If you are going to live in Arlington, Clarendon should be on the top of your list and the location of this building is perfect. The on site staff are very attentive and helpful and having a concierge that takes care of packages, dry cleaning, reservations for common spaces etc. is awesome. The gym has everything you need if you are not a power lifter or cross-fit junkie. The pool is a bit small, but come on, you have a pool. Also the rooftop deck and grilling space is top notch - great place to have friends over and cook. I moved in when the building was first delivered so there have been some minor problems from time to time and there were certainly a few design challenges that I chalk up to poor execution. There are no fan's in the bathrooms - which is absurd - I don't care if it's sustainable or whatever justification they use, it's just not practical. I also have one cabinet that opens into a light fixture (but I am assuming that is just a lazy contractor not measuring twice). It can get loud on the weekends in units that face the street - but you did choose to live in an urban setting so get a white noise machine if you are a light sleeper (not a problem for me after the first couple weeks). CONSTRUCTION COMING NEXT DOOR: The building is surrounded by Red Top cab on both sides and that is going to be developed starting early 2017. It will be interesting to see how the building does when there is massive construction on both sides so if you are looking at a lease here during that time frame make sure to bring that up. Overall, I love it here and it fits my life perfectly. It is hassle free living in a very safe neighborhood. You can walk to anything you need and metro is literally a three minute walk.
This apartment building is a great place to live. The staff is extremely friendly and service requests are fixed in a very timely manner. The location is great, as it is within a very short walking distance to the metro as well as numerous bars and restaurants. The rooftop has great views and is a wonderful place too enjoy the pool and the grills in the summer. The building is brand new and the apartments are clean and equipment is great. I would recommend this building to people of all ages!
