Property Ratings at The Beaux Arts
Pros: great doormen (24 hour!), acceptance of basically all packages, deliveries, dry cleaning, etc. Very clean premises (I have seen a roach one time in one year). Good if you want to live someplace where you don't have to worry about anything. Very safe. Gym in the sister building across the street. Big laundry in the basement. Great location (near buses on 1st and 2nd aves and GCT). Cons: Near UN so physically moving in/out (no service entrance) and basically no parking. Building management is slow to respond to maintenance problems (building staff is fast however) which are annoying due to old age of building. I love the windows (French style) but require professional AC installation.
The apartment building is located right by the UN plaza. It is perfect if you want a super clean building, attentive management, friendly doorman, super safe neighborhood. Possibly the safest street in NYC, cops are always there. Walking distance to Grand Central makes this even more appealing to those who have to commute in and around the city for work or to Weschester county and Stamford. You won't like this building if you have a car and prefer to park on the street. During the day, it is impossible because 80% of the street is reserved for diplomats. All in all, a terrific place to live.
