I moved in summer of last year and love it. It's an older building but the views are amazing and where else can you find a pool in Detroit?! It's walkable to pretty much everything and my apartment gets great light.
I've been living here about a month and so far I love it. Building is clean and very quiet. The management company is doing lots of repairs and maintenance to the building. Any issues always seem to be resolved quickly. Both of the double doors to the street lock and I always feel very safe.
I have lived here for 2 months now and love the location. It’s walkable to campus and the views from my apartment are amazing. Looking forward to using the pool in the spring! :D
I toured this past weekend and loved the location! It is walkable to everything in midtown. The units have amazing views and brand new kitchens - Overall the building seems super clean and the pool area looks amazing!
All cement floors, your ELECTRIC BILL will be $300 - $600 in the winter. NO HOT WATER on weekends. Elevator breaks daily. Modern City Management tries to manage the building through the internet, they are never around. The recent good review was done by the manager to fill the building up, just so you know.
I've lived here for four years while attending grad school and into my first job. The new management has been a complete positive 180 from prior ownership and the renovations are starting to make huge difference in the look AND FEEL of the building for the better. They were long overdue and worth the limited dust and noise they have caused.
When I started working for The Belcrest, it was back in 1994. I had no experience in property management, but learned fairly quick. I went from being a Leasing Consultant to Assistant Manger. We had tenants that had lived in the building since it was a hotel and they survived the change over to apartments. Ruth, the manager at the time, had worked as a switchboard operator before the hotel was transformed into apartments. We had the typical plumbing issues, hot water issues and elevator issues. There was NEVER a dull moment at work. There were laughs, tears and yes, arguments. But, in the end, we were all family. The community, then, was such a pleasure to serve. The local restaurants owners were also like family as everyone knew each other and looked out for one another. Many of us have passed away while others have moved on. I have many fond memories of The Belcrest and I miss my old friend. One day, I will return-Brea
I just recently moved out of the Belcrest Apartment because i finished school. If i wasn't planning on going back home after school was finished I would have definitely stayed here longer. I just wanted to bring some light on all the negative comments. A couple months before me planning on leaving I went down to the office to talk to Lauren & Stephanie about how I would get back my security deposit and they explained in great detail on what i should do. I made sure i followed majority of the instructions and within the 30 days after i moved out of Belcrest i DID receive my deposit. I chose not to have my carpets professionally cleaned so there was a charge for that but they did warn me beforehand and i completely understand the charge. I never once had a bug problem in my unit. Before moving in they did an inspection and also another one when i renewed. EVERY morning when i would leave for school I would always see maintenance and the girls in the office cleaning the lobby/building. The building is a very clean environment to be in. Also, I made tons of friends while staying here and enjoyed going down to the pool. Maintenance was always VERY helpful whenever I stopped them and asked them random questions. Instead of ignoring me they followed me up to my apartment and fixed the problem (garbage disposal).
