I have lived at the Benton for almost 2 years. I love it here. If there is every a problem or concern it is handled very quickly and professionally. I just got new blinds in my apartment because I had a problem with the old ones. I only had to ask once and they were replaced. The resident manager Michael is very professional and always helpful. I give the Benton 5 stars because I love the location and it is a very safe environment. The staff is always helpful and very friendly. Great Place to Live!!!

I have been in contact with Mrs Fredrick for more than 60 days before moving in. She is my contact at The Benton and has been great. Her customer service is outstanding from answering my calls and emails to returning them within an hour. So, I signed my lease and I am looking forward to moving in very soon. I will give another review after I move in and I’m sure it will be 5Stars.

My kids and I have been living here at The Benton's since 2012. It was called Chapel Park then, but when they got sued, the changed the name to the benton. I am a government employee and have been effected by the government shutdown that's happening right as I speak. My employer gave us a letter to give to our landlords and creditors explaining that we are not getting paid. I took it to the rent office and gave it to nice lady there and let her know that I will be late on my rent because I don't know when I will get paid again, due to the shutdown. She told me that she will give it to the manager. A week or so later, the manager called me and said he need to know when I was gonna pay my rent, because its past due. I said I don't know because I'm not getting paid because of the shutdown and didn't you get the letter explaining that? He said yeah, but there's nothing we can do about that. But he will call the contact the corporate office and let them know but he's has a gut feeling they're not gonna do anything about it. He calls back and say yeah I spoke with the corporate and unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this situation because of our policy. It's funny because they have specials all the time where people move in and get half off on their first month rent and then throughout the year, they sometimes have drawings where if your name get pulled you may win half off on your next months rent. But here I am with kids, only 19 days late on my rent, an almost 7 year tenant who's job is all over the news showing that we are not getting paid, my employer even called and spoke with the manager hoping they will help me and all I get is "there is nothing we can do." A few days after my employer spoke with benton manager, I get home from work (working with no pay) and there is an eviction notice on my door. I say this to say. These people do not care or help their tenants in anyway all they want is their money. They want to kick me and my kids out so they can renovate my apartment and increase the rent so they can get more money from the new tenant that moves in. I have no money to move or stay. They don't care. DO NOT move here! If you do, God forbid you have a unexpected life crisis that's out of your control, they will kick you out. Oh and I almost forgot. If you are late on your rent, they charge a $100 late fee depending on your rent rate plus $10 per day for everyday that you are late.

Unfortunately, we are unable to grant extensions or reverse late fees as these policies are outlined in our lease agreements. Not only would these actions be a breach of contract, but they would be a direct violation of federal Fair Housing laws. We must uphold all federal, local, and state laws equally for all residents, regardless of the circumstances. As a vendor on this property I have been witness to many changes.From upgrades to the units themselves to the recent exterior painting of the entire property.Management has been a very Competent partner in our duties to provode the best product we can deliver.With the location so close to everything Hoover has to offer I couldn’t recommend better place to call home.

No AC, broken for 5 months. They put in a portable AC that ran my Alabama power bill up to $400 a month. Bugs everywhere, I wish I could attach a pic. Sinks don’t drain, pool closed all summer, loud late night party’s in common area on weekends. Truly the worst possible living conditions in Hoover

BEWARE of this place! They advertise as a luxury apartment but they are not. Old buildings and facilities layered in paint to spruce it up. The rent seems reasonable for what you get until you pay over $70/month for the water bill and $180/month for the power bill for a 1 bedroom apartment with 1 person. Multiple inquiries into the high utility costs were ignored by management. The employees are very helpful and friendly until you sign the lease, but then customer service significantly diminishes, unless it is related to your contract or payment of rent. Be mindful of clear communication in writing (or emails) as they will not be flexible or honor previous verbal conversations. As a professional businessman who has leased many apartments I could not in good faith recommend the Benton to anyone. For your sake, you may want to consider looking elsewhere.

This is a good property but the problem is that its too old to accommodate any more renovations. I have been killing almost 100 roaches a day which means 5200 roaches a year. multiply that with 100 units. My values are that when I pay my money as a tenant I should b treated with respect. I have lived in this property and I loved the previous managers. The current manager at Benton is soo disrespectful rude and stupid. We cant call this place home anymore because we live as squatters.
My experience at this property (The Benton formerly Chapel Park) is horrible. The managers are rude, disrespectful, and evil. She will not let the kids play outside. They feel like prisoners in their own home. She wants them to go to a place that is not safe to play, away from plain view were everyone can not see them. I don't feel like I should have to leave my apartment to go watch my child play when I can stay in my home were I pay to live and keep an eye on them. If that's the case, I will take them to the park, The plumbing is bad, the pipes are all dry rotten and old. Sometimes the water is BROWN, we have to go and buy water just to cook with so we don't get sick. They are to sorry to come and fix anything, but they want their rent on time.......?????? They are trying to fix up the place, but the only thing that they upgraded was the office, everything else is total garbage. I would not recommend my DOG to live at this place.
