This residential region will show you just why Greenville, one North Carolina’s fastest-growing cities, has become known as the Emerald City. Wide streets and gargantuan pine trees make a picturesque setting for the homes and apartments in this popular suburb. Southwest Greenville is also a retail hub for the entire city. 11 Galleria and the Greenville Mall have turned this tranquil locale into a shopping district, with plenty of grocery stores and big-box chains to check out.
This is a popular spot for families in Greenville. A large number of highly-rated schools serve the area, and they’re intertwined with a few moderately-sized Greenville parks like Guy Smith Park and Dream Park.
Southwest Greenville is bisected by US 13, making it the major thoroughfare into and out of the area.

Property Ratings at The Berkeley at Medford Pointe
I have been here a little over a year and the experience has been ok. However, the current property Manager is not that friendly. I will say the maintenance staff is prompt and relatively nice. They will nickel and dime you to get extra money from you. Now you have to obtain apartment insurance through their company where before you could purchase your own. Also, when paying rent online through the resident portal they charge you a small fee even if you are using your checking account. Finally, there are many dog owners in this apartment complex. Please be aware of the grassy areas behind and between the buildings. Some dog owners do not pick up their dog's poop when they walk them in those areas. It possibly could be the same person or couple of people again and again. This is simply disgusting and an ongoing problem.
Property Manager at The Berkeley at Medford Pointe, Responded To This Review
Hello, we’re discouraged by this characterization of our community and regret that your experience here has been anything less than exceptional. All potential fees and charges, along with how they are calculated, are clearly outlined within the lease agreement. If you have any questions about your current costs, please give the office a call for further clarification. We sincerely apologize that your experience with us has not been positive. We are always open to opportunities to improve our service and welcome you to our office to see if we can resolve any outstanding issues you've experienced.
This complex could be a lot worse but it isn't as great as they make it out to be either. It isn't worth the $$$ they are asking for rent. I've lived in more expensive markets on the west coast and had much nicer apartments for what they are asking here. I would give it a solid 3.5 stars if it was an option. The construction of the buildings is shoddy. I can hear *everything* going on with neighbors. If you live on the first or second floors you might as well just get use to hearing your neighbors walking around. Even the most light-footed individual would sound like Godzilla destroying Tokyo above you. There have been some problems with students partying at the pool (not enough to warrant more than one or two sleepless nights). There is the constant problem of dog owners not picking up after their pets. And the expansion construction has been annoying. Mosquitos are also a HUGE problem here. The complex doesn't spray to control the population, which means you should expect to be ate alive in the warmer months. I would also say that if you are considering this complex because of the "gated community" selling point - Look. Somewhere. Else. The gates have worked consistently maybe for half of the time of been here. The other half is just a free-for-all for whoever wants to come in. As for the positives, the staff is generally nice. Somewhat dismissive at times but nice and will try to help if you push them. The area is also safe (generally speaking) and the complex is mostly full of professionals. So this isn't a student-heavy complex. In general, it is nice and probably nicer than a lot of other complexes in the area, but I completely disagree that this is an upscale apartment complex. It is a very clean and very average complex.
We enjoyed living here and actually kinda miss it! Lived here for a year and no issues with apartment and management. Everyone was super friendly and so accommodating. Only reason we moved is that we needed a bigger space to accommodate our growing family. Even told them if they ever build 3 bedrooms apartments, we will be back for sure! Never had any issues during the year we lived here. The area was safe and love that they are pet friendly. Apartment was pristine when we moved in. And any maintenance we needed was done at a timely manner. Also loved the sparklers left at our door for Fourth of July and little thoughtful things that the management would do for their tenants! it's def a great place to live. Highly recommend living here! so much grass area for pets to run around.
Absolutely ~LOVED~ living at the Berkeley! I was sad to leave; however, my job took me to a new location! I lived at the Berk one year and loved everything about it - the staff, the maintenance of the grounds, the safety features, etc.! :)
I lived at the Berkeley for a little over a year and loved it. Ultimately I decided to purchase a home instead of continuing to rent, however if I was still renting I would definitely live at the Berkeley!! Management was always helpful, from getting maintenance to come fix any issues I was having, to picking up a package off my stoop and keeping it in the office for me while I was out of town! Yes, there was some noise from upstairs neighbors, but that is to be expected with the wood floors and living in an apartment. I would highly recommend this complex!!
