Property Ratings at The Birches
I recently had the pleasure of living at The Birches Apartments, and it has been an exceptional experience. From the moment I moved in, I was impressed by the attention to detail and the quality of amenities offered.
We moved in thinking it wouldn't be that bad but everything is absolutely terrible... they don't want to fix or replace anything. I have never lived in an apartment that had roach problems until I got here, I guess it's a first time for everything. Everything is extremely outdated and nothing was finished before we moved in. They just want your money. They do not want to fix anything or replace anything because they try to save as much money as possible for end of the year bonuses. DO NOT MOVE HERE. It's not worth the stress or money
Very affordable, clean, and safe. Maintenance is always avaliable fast. I’ve been here over 2 years and love it.

My family lived here for one year and we knew we would not be renewing our lease. Day of move in we released there was so much stuff not done to the apartment prior to us getting the keys. A lot of stuff they didn’t fix and the stuff they did took couple weeks. Our ceiling had water damage from a bad storm took 2 weeks of me calling to have them come in and spray over the water stain. Water pressure was low the whole time we were there. For the money, wasn’t worth it at all!

I lived there for two years. Management are nice in office and easy to get ahold of, but is horrible when trying to get items replaced. Out of date appliances, my stove was full of mice poo and they refused to replace it.

Been here for three years now and honestly it isn't as bad as some of the reviews make it seem...at least for us. It isn't a brand new place or super updated; however, you can make it nice. Maintenance has been out day of any time we've ever needed anything. The landscaping and pest control is well maintained. I think what you are paying for with these apartments is the location (any and everything is around here) and the amount of space. I am in a two bedroom and find it to be relatively spacious for the price. *Remember you are living in an apartment complex, so you will have to deal with some typical things like a loud parking lot or hearing your neighbors walk above you.* My only semi-real complaint would be (with respect) the office staff. Generally the employees are super friendly...maybe just not the most organized/fail to follow through. I usually have to reach out a few times... which is fine if you just know that's what is to be expected. If anything I would blame the manager for not making sure the employees are following through/not following through herself. Other than that...it is dog friendly, a beautiful area and somewhere we have enjoyed to live. As long as you aren't expecting anything fancy it's a great property and overall I would recommend :)

Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your comments. We are diligent about resident communication, especially when it comes to maintenance requests. We will be more conscientious about follow up moving forward. Thank you!
I moved out due to it being managed terrible and the safety in the complex has gone way down since i moved in. It is not kid friendly or family oriented. The price is way to much.
Terrible place to live. Mold growing in the walls, ceiling has leaks and caving in, neighbors smoking in their homes and due to poorly maintained complex the smoke seeks in through the walls. Awful place to call home. Do yourself a favor and find a complex that provides a nice, safe place to live and where the front office doesn’t treat you like trash when you try to get things fixed in your apartment.
Moved into the Birches thinking things here couldn’t be that bad since I was moving from the Green Run area. I was wrong. Everything I HATED about that area is also here, if not worse. My apartment smells of marijuana throughout the day, management has called the neighbors, patched holes, problem is still there. I hate to call the police, but my newborn will NOT be around the odor. Management (excluding Jordan) is very rude when making complaints, which is very unfortunate. These aren’t the nicest apartments in the greenbrier area and are a little overpriced, which seemed fine before moving in since they’re tucked away but still close to everything you could need. Down stairs neighbors are loud and rude, generally at night. Complaints, politely knocking, nothing fixes it. You hear the entire parking lot none stop. Do your research and find something nicer for the same price. Save yourself the irritation of dealing with the leasing office and awful neighbors here.
The property manager is rude and condescending. The spaces are small. They do horrible maintenance. The rent is too much for what you get. Don’t come here
I been living at the Birches for almost 4 years now... I absolutely love it here, so peaceful & safe. Especially the office Manager Melissa she's awesome from day one she always been so helpful I just LOVE HER... Jordan as well is very nice, maintenance is A plus
Jordan was great. Answered all of our questions. Made us feel welcomed to be there
The staff is seemed nice at first but that was short lived. Unresponsive and rude when they do answer. I would never wish a friend or family to have to live at this place. Neighbors complain of roaches and pet waste outside. For how much you pay there are simply better options.
This place seemed great until we put in an application. Suddenly we have to remind them that we're not signing a lease until we see our actual apartment. They wanted a security deposit before we saw the place and said we would not get it back if we didn't like it. Was told that's how they do things and to go elsewhere if we didn't agree. So we went elsewhere. I suggest you do too.
