Property Ratings at The Bowie
I regret to say that my experience at this property has been utterly disappointing and unlivable. From day one, I encountered a plethora of issues that have not only persisted but worsened over time. Upon moving in last December, I immediately noticed significant problems with heating and hot water due to faulty gas pipelines. The gas company's inability to resolve the issue for an entire week left me without basic amenities. Although a temporary solution was eventually implemented, it felt sketchy and potentially illegal, but I had no choice as it provided me with hot water and heat. Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there. Shortly after, I experienced a major electrical issue that left half of my unit without power. While the maintenance team patched it up, the problem remains unresolved, limiting my access to electrical outlets in my own room. The most distressing issue, however, is the persistent plumbing problem in my bathroom. Despite multiple maintenance requests, the issue was only temporarily patched up after the third request, resulting in a foul smell and mold growth. Even after using the legal term "uninhabitable" and providing photo evidence, the response was inadequate, with maintenance only cleaning up the mold, exacerbating the plumbing issue further. Currently, my bathroom is unusable due to water seeping from under the toilet onto the floor and under the vinyl. Additionally, there's a leak in the kitchen ceiling, rendering my dishwasher unusable and causing further flooding. These conditions are unacceptable and render this property uninhabitable. I am left with no choice but to pursue legal action to terminate my lease and request a refund of my deposits. I strongly advise against considering this property for anyone looking for a place to live. No one should have to endure such extreme conditions.

Moving into my renovated apartment at the Bowie was a breeze, thanks to the outstanding service from my leasing agent. Their professionalism and friendliness made the process stress-free. The spacious, modern design exceeded my expectations, and the attentive on-site staff continues to impress. If you want a seamless move-in and excellent customer care, I highly recommend The Bowie.
I've lived at this property for around 6 years and seen it go through 3 management companies. This last management company has been the best, THOUGH their communication is very poor and they always have excuses. If you have a major problem expect to go back and forth for a good amount of time. You have to physically go down there angry to show that you mean business before action is done. I've experienced problems with mildew/mold in my apartment. It smells like a basement constantly and had all that I could be done outside of them tearing walls down or redoing ventilation (of course they are NOT going to do that, they only do minor temporary fixings). I could no longer afford to live in a 1 bedroom with my growing family so I did an early termination. HERE IS YOUR WARNING FOLKS!!! DO NOT MOVE OUT WITHOUT THEM ALLOWING YOU TO DO YOUR WALK THROUGH WITH YOU BEING PRESENT!!!! They will lie and tell you they can't do one due to "short staff", "it's late in the afternoon", "normally we don't do that" among excuses. But if you don't do it, they can blame anything on you and have you pay for it. I asked 3 times for a walk through and was not given one. I guess my husband didn't clean the fridge like I asked him to when we left so they decided to charge me for a cleaning fee. The manager gave me permission to have my own cleaners go in that day after I made a fuss about it because I didn't get my proper walk through b4 turning in my key. WE GOT IT CLEANED THAT DAY and they STILL charged me for cleaning saying there's no evidence of it being cleaned after! They were closed so no one could verify. BUT THEY HIRE A CLEANING SERVICE WHETHER I CLEANED IT OR NOT!!! SO YOU JUST BASICALLY HAVING US PAY FOR WHAT YOU WERE GOING TO DO ANYWAY!!!! So they left a REALLY bad taste in my mouth. It literally was a mildly dirty tub, sweeping floors and cleaning the fridge that had normal dirt not huge spills or anything like that.... smh. They must be thirsty for extra cash. I'm glad I left.

Thank you for your thorough feedback. We are sorry to hear that we had some issues with communication during your stay with us. In regards to the move-out charges, it is customary for us to charge a fee in order to return the apartment to an impeccable move-in-ready condition. Please feel free to reach out to our community manager if anything is still unclear via malsbrook@bridgepm.com. We are always looking for ways to improve so we look forward to connecting.
1. The ceiling creaks and there are popping noises throughout the apartment year-round. Heaven forbid you find yourself on a or lower level and you have an unruly neighbor who lives on the top floor and has questionable behaviors. Earplugs, white noise, management or police can't help you. 2. The flooring is uneven and damaged in some areas. 3. Lol the inside of the tub even squeaks. 4. The walls are thin. So that means your neighbor(s) hears everything. 5. Poor ventilation. little airflow, a musty smell and I've noticed several health issues with myself that I'm monitoring. 6. Dog waste and trash everywhere but its intended areas are an eyesore. 7. Management lacks communication, follow up and accountability. Overall I would not recommend this place!

This property is terrible and the only redeeming quality is that they have Google Fiber. I don't know why, but i'm just moving here and there are multiple problems. People just throw trash outside the trash compactor, (maybe because it's broken, i don't know, but its been like a week, so fix it!!!!). Everything in my apartment is rusty and old. The morning I was to move in, i was told my toilet didn't work, so they were going to fix it before I moved. As soon as I move, toilet doesn't work. They also only have two maintenance staff, so I have now gone days with a broken toilet. They have lights connected to power switches (which I don't even understand why power is connected to light switches), but I can't have power in my room unless the lights are on. The front office is really unprofessional, even when I was applying to move here there were problems. If it weren't for the fact that I really wanted Google Fiber and this place is affordable and near my job, I would leave this place in a heartbeat. DON'T MOVE HEAR, YOU CAN DO BETTER.
I have been here 7 years And maintenance as never responded so fast as they did to day and then the manager is better than anyone has been here since I've been here so all thumbs up this is good
This place is a cockroach ridden mess! Maintenance is unreliable, and office staff will tell you one thing, and you'll get fees for doing what they said. If you make the mistake of renting here, get EVERYTHING in writing!
I called this establishment on Monday. I spoke with a woman named “Jen”. She was very helpful and funny and I felt like I finally connected with someone and was eager to see these apartments. She promised she would send over an email outlining all the 1 bedroom options and various fees associated with such. She did tell me she was having issues with her email so if I didn’t receive the email that day to call and let her know. I received no email. So, the next day I called and asked to speak with Jen. Another woman said Jen was busy but took my name down and told me she would remind Jen about the email she promised me. At about 11 pm that night I received a run of the mill email telling me they were sorry they missed me and to schedule an appointment. What ? Day 3- I called the property again to inquire about the email. A man answered the phone without telling me his name or where he worked for that matter and I asked to speak to Jen, again. This man said, “there’s no Jen here”. I asked if maybe he knew her as Jennifer. He said no. He was very unhelpful and pretty rude. I told him I only wished to get some numbers on a 1 bedroom and he assured me he would email me. Shockingly, I have revived no such email and I am over reaching out to a complex when I am the one who would be expending money. They could use a lesson in how to talk to people and exercise some damage control instead of scoffing and acting like I am wasting their time. I will happily spend my money elsewhere.
I was really excited about moving here. I loved the size of their apartments and the price! It seemed really great. When I drove through the community it looked cleanish, except the pool, which had a tree in it, and the trash was broken. Either way, I was still excited. I went immediately home and applied. Two days past and no word from the community, so I called on Friday (I applied Tuesday, June 19th). The person answer the phone told me that I was approved, but that the manager had to be the one to get me more information and that I should hear back on Monday/Tuesday. Those days came and past with no word, so I signed onto the portal and saw there was something to fill out, so I did. Then, I messaged the company to check-in. The next day, I saw you could text the office, so I did. No response. I called them the following Friday and the guy told me that the manager wasn't there and that he understood I was frustrated, so he would leave a message for her to call me immediately. Nothing. Didn't hear another word from them. My move-in date was supposed to be next Friday (July 20), and I didn't have an address to get utilities set up, no lease, no idea how much my deposit was going to be. So, after nearly a MONTH of no word from them, I emailed their parent company, who got back to me on Wednesday, July 11th with an apology. ONLY THEN did I receive any information from the apartment. The manager emailed me apologizing and told me if I was still interested she would give me all the information I needed. It was too little too late. I took the refund of my application fee and moved on. I just feel like if you're going to ignore me when you're trying to get me to live there and pay you money, how much will you ignore me if something breaks in my apartment? People may have a better experience than I did, but this was BY FAR the worst experience I've ever had trying to get an apartment.
Currently my woman who has been staying for the past 3-4 years been having issue after issue. The most recent issue is that her neighbor has passed away and the body is still there. The body is decomposing and it is now drawing a foul smell, flies, and maggots. I feel that she is being lied to about the entire situation.
The application and move in process was a breeze, no hassle, no issues and they are very friendly and respectful. No complaints.... just moved in they are preparing to renovate the entire community and can’t wait to see the awesome changes!
When applying for apartment the staff were very friendly and you can feel they really want to make your leasing experience a good one. All my questions were answered in a timely matter and I was updated about everything needed by me. Im very impressed.
I enjoy living here. Just moved in. The area is close to GA 400 exit and local shopping. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood, nice for walking or runnjng outdoors.
This is a very good apartment to live at they are very reliable and work with you on prices.
I have lived at Legacy Key for four months now. I love that I can walk to the stores, QT or down to the river. It is right on a bus route. My son actually picked out the apartment, comparing it to others in nearby locations it seemed to be the best in regards to price, location and size. We could also get Google Fiber. I would like to thank Alexander (the Leasing Consultant) for the time he spent sending me information and for staying late when we arrived at the end of the day. We had problems in our bathroom after moving in, we reported it to the staff but they had been unable to get back to us before the movers arrived at 7 in the morning! I ran down to the office, only to realize that it wasn’t yet open. Marcus (the Maintenance Supervisor) found me there and came immediately to resolve the problem. It did take a couple of days to fix but he kept me notified of what was happening. I found out later that he had just started at Legacy Key. I was amazed, he had been so calm and professional, I was sure he had been here for years. The laundry facility is working and the pool was still open for swimming in October, that was a surprise to me being from the north. I walk frequently around the grounds and now know most of the maintenance staff by name. They are always busy in the morning cleaning up the yards, streets and mowing the lawns. The neighbors are friendly and all the dogs I’ve seen have been leashed. I have had a couple of small maintenance issues since I have been here and Marcus has had them fixed quickly and professionally. I am glad I signed a one year lease and would gladly recommend these apartments.
I have been living at Legacy Key for about a year and it has been a nightmare. From the beginning of my lease till the end there has been one issue after another. I didnt have air conditioning in my apartment for the 1st 5 months and when I orginally made the maintenance request the technician lied about the air conditioner working "differently" because he was too incompetent to actually make the repair. During random inspection members of their office and repair staff came into my apartment they put their feet spread sand and mud on my sheets to slight me. When I went to the office to understand how something like this could happen they refused to give me the identities of the members of their staff that "inspected" my apartment. After all of this, i spoke to the manager of the of the property and she asked if i was going to extend my lease i said no. At the end of my lease I came by to ask if there was anything else i had to do before i left. She said that even though i spoke to her about ending my lease it doesnt count and i would have to stay an additional 2 months and pay additional penalities or else they would destroy my credit. Listen there are a bunch of negative review for this property across multiple websites dont be fooled like i was and think that they cant be possibly that bad because they are actually worse. Just find another property to live in and spend your hard earned money.
If you ask anyone in the community their opinions they will all tell you the same thing. The place is a dump! Nothing works. The "two pools" they say they have have not been open in a year. The "wonderful new grilling area with two brand new stainless steel grills" is ridiculous. It looks great from the outside but the reason the grills have stayed brand new is because they haven't hooked up the gas connection yet, leaving them unusable. They set out a 3 foot high portable charcoal grill for residents you use; however, someone stole it on Labor Day. The "security gate" in the back is broken and always open. Not safe as all! However, it's a good thing it is because they have given me four gate buzzers so far and none of them work to open the gate. Our refrigerator was broken when we moved in, they assured us it would be fixed the next day. Two men came out, scraped some gunk out of the ice maker and left. It still doesn't work. The "self-car wash" has been broken for 6 months. Our building always smells like marijuana. We have seen and killed a dozen roaches and last night there was one crawling on my leg while I slept in my bed. No one cleans up after their dogs. There is feces all over the grounds. Save yourself the time, everyone in the leasing office lies and nothing is every fixed. It's the little things.
These apartments are the size of moderate house! . My small unit is 1000 square feet and they go up to 1400. This is a Suburban location and everything I need is within one block of the property. Amenities consist of two pools ,laundry room ,business center and fitness center. They are currently in the process hiring a night Security Guard Service. And last but not least the new Management company has been here one year and they are fantastic ! This Honeymoon is not over ! Patti D. Atlanta , GA.
I have lived at Azalea Park since my senior year in college, 2011. Not a bad place and not the best either. I haven't had any issues so far. Maintenance is fast , Leasing office is very responsive. Gym is a Joke, Neighbors are nice , community is kept clean. I am moving this year because there was a shooting next to my windows . The first time I ever saw or heard something like that in the complex. The gates works pretty well and there is a security patrol some days. Very convenient location and the price is reasonable. About bugs, i noticed some roaches when i first moved in but as I started cleaning well , I haven't see that much in about 2 years. Cats do run around and sleep under cars and in patios. But as a person whose top priority is security, I felt quite safe over there and my experience has been good so far so I give 4 stars
This apartment complex is excellent for the Marta bus and train. You will be close to banking, grocery stores, near great resturants, etc. Great Leasing Agents, very helpful with our needs. Quick Trip on the corner, you will be close to the 400 highway.Great elementry schools and North Spring Charter High School. The area is very quiet, I love Sandy Spring area!!! Pool and tennis area are nice and clean. A great community to raise your children. Deborah B, Atkanra Georgia
Great space and location not great setting someone recently got shot and killed
