The neighborhood of Cudell, with a mix of single-family homes and apartment complexes, sits several miles southwest of downtown Cleveland. I-90 provides residents with easy access to downtown, and numerous bus stops along both I-90 and West Boulevard make using public transportation a simple task.
Residents of Cudell browse for groceries and other essentials at Good Earth, Denison Food Market and Hage Food Market. A community favorite, the year-round Westside Market, houses nearly 100 vendors selling fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, baked goods and more.
Lakewood Mini Park, a small paved brick park on the corner of Madison Avenue and West 117th Street, beckons visitors to just sit and relax. The recreation center at Cudell Commons provides a weight room, game room, gym, and swimming pool to residents. A short drive north takes locals to the shores of Lake Erie, where beaches and boats abound.

Property Ratings at The Brick Lofts at Historic West Tech
Your electricity bill ranges from 400-900 $ a month. One window out the of whole unit opens. Management including the property manager, Sada acts like they care when they don't. Your issue will get resolved in a cheap fix or you'll have to wait weeks for it to be fixed. Multiple cars have been broken into and even someone got robbed in the garage which they pay money to keep safe. I can go on and on the place smells like dog pee and smoke everyday. Location is great but save your money and find a better place.

Awful management, I don’t know why it says they offer internet access on here because they do not, they aren’t upfront with their prices, terrible plumbing, it’s hot as hell in here and the ac has never been turned on in my apartment even though maintenance requests have been put in, when I moved in the ceiling was falling apart which they never told me about until they were moving me in, I’ve lived here for 8 months now it’s still never been fixed, the microwave stopped working and hasn’t worked in forever, one of my toilets is no longer working, I have a room that is supposed to have a glass window it overlooks the living room, if you aren’t careful you can definitely fall out of the window and get seriously hurt, they scam you out of money, they started charging 45+ for parking in the surface lot that was previously free, it’s always dirty and the laundry room is in the depths of the building, my apartment got broken into back in March and they said they would put a bracket on my door and never did, they’re constantly renovating stuff but can’t fix anything inside the actual apartments, and even when they renovate they never finish what they started

Honestly the worst place I ever lived. I've been here 6 weeks - stuff has been stolen- my car window was broken and my car was ransacked- today the building had it towed from a parking spot in the lot. The unit is damp and dark - the maintenance department has been telling me they were coming for 3 weeks. The dog area is disgusting, the halls are dirty and this is not a cheap place to live. I thought I would feel more secure in a building - boy was I wrong.

Though we are sad to hear that you didn't have the best experience at our community, we are thankful that you have shared your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your vehicle. Sometimes things outside of our control can take place and we agree that it is very frustrating. We have had some contractor work going on in the community and sent out communication regarding areas that would need to be free of parked vehicles so that this necessary work could be completed. We do our best to keep common areas and amenities as clean as possible and any help that we can get from our residents, whether it be by picking up messes they make or by reporting others that are in violation, is greatly appreciated. Our team is trying hard to meet and exceed expectations which is why we greatly appreciate you sharing your experience. If you'd like to discuss any of these matters further, please reach out to residentservicesOH@monarchinvestment.com.
I love the Brick Lofts. It's very close to downtown area and basically in the middle of all the major areas needed for commute. The new management is amazing. The workers here are so helpful, nice, and Karrisa does a great job at keeping all areas clean. Corie, Devyn and the leasing manager all care about their tenants and ensuring that everyone's experience is top notch. Although the area isn't the best-it doesn't take away from their 5 star treatment to the community.
The location is great! You’re near major highways, Ohio City, Downtown, Lakewood and major store plazas. Units are roomy and they have free parking lot.
The apartments are spacious and the staff are very friendly! The maintenance works usually get job orders done within a day or 2. There are the occasional bad tennants that clog the trash shoot/ not picking up after their dog poop due to no doggie bags being provided.
The building is suffering from years of neglect and poor management. Every section is disgusting. Trash is thrown all over the building. Maintenance is unresponsive and couldn’t repair a tinker toy. It’s truly in a sad state of affairs Mold and pet urinre fills the air. Crime is intense ... broken security doors and one guard for a massive complex. Just look elsewhere. It’s a money pit.
This is the worst place to live. It is very dirty with trash everywhere, management is awful, there is no security during the day to run the drug addicts off, the electric bills are out of control, they nickel and dime you for everything such as trash, water, sewer, and a bogus admin fee. Heed my word “save yourself the hassle” I have to call nearly every week to have the halls vacuumed and the still leave trash. On the weekends the trash area in the basement overflows to the point I am afraid it will attract rats. My apartment is beautiful on the inside which was misleading and made me not notice how awful every other aspect here is. They told me when I looked at the apartment my light bill would be around $150 if I keep my heat low. I kept my heat on 67 all winter and my average bill was $550. I will not be renewing my lease at this nightmare of a place.

It is a great place to stay. I can only speak bad about the neighborhood, but everyone that works in the leasing office tries.
Apartment is relatively updated, very spacious apartments. Large hallways, easy move in. Industrial style on the inside , not what you would expect when you consider it used to be a school. Pet friendly , nice washer /dryer units on site. Surrounding neighborhood not great but areas directly outside the apartment are nice. Parking could be better, the lot does not have enough spaces to accommodate the majority of its tenants.
Love the unique character of the apartments. Apartments have exposed brick and oversized windows which I love. Also nice to find a place that is clean and pet friendly. However, gym is a joke. Has a couple machines and is so hot that I can't even work out there. Neighborhood and parking could be better but overall not a bad place.
I currently live in a three bedroom three bathroom. While the structure is nice ( 1 bathroom, laundry room, kitchen, and 1 bedroom on the first floor; 1 bedroom living room bathroom on 2nd floor; master bedroom master bath on 3rd) the utilities plays a big role in one of the many cons of this building. The building is brick, making it hard too keep the apartment heated. As a tenant you are only required to pay electric, however everything is ran off of you lights. Heat, cooking is electricalmaking an average light bill of 350/month. They offer the option of renting a washing machine for 60/month on top of paying a 75/month for underground parking. While underground parking doesn't seem like a necessity, parking is very limited. If you get off after 4, you can forget about it. All of this glory for 1285/month. The walls are so thin that I can hear my neighbors alarm clock. Need I go on?
I've lived at West Tech for almost two years, and I can't say I'm happy with my choice. I chose West Tech for the reasonable prices and large space. But unfortunately that's all they have to offer. The pet friendly apartment has a yard that is constantly littered with dog feces and trash. The halls are regularly littered with trash after hours and on weekends when the cleaning lady isn't working. The fire alarms go off at least once a month without notice, and that doesn't include the regular fire alarm testing that they do. The hallways regularly smell of pot. Our neighbors smoke both pot and cigarettes causing our upstairs bedroom to smell of them as all. The maintenance requests can take weeks to be completed as long as you keep on them about it. Otherwise it may not get done at all. Lastly before i move onto the apartment itself, is the parking lot and security. The parking lot is consistently littered with vehicles in disrepair, despite the warnings displayed that threatening towing. Several vehicles stolen out of the parking lot and parking garage due to lack of security and the constant foot traffic by non residents on the property. The apartment itself is spaceous. The walk in closet and huge master bath with his and her sinks is awesome. However apon moving in, I was very disappointed what I saw. The carpet was stained, the cupboards needed a significant amount of touch up painting done. 2 of the light globs were broken, walls still needed painted and the some of the appliances were usable but in disrepair. In summary, I would not recommend this place. There are better units around Cleveland for around the same price.
