Potential new residents, please be very cautious when leasing here. I lived at The Brickyard for a year and I could have picked better places. The trash room is always a mess, bags and other things are constantly littered and the smell that comes with it is worse. The mailroom is just as bad. Packages are constantly left out for everyone to see. As a person for personal privacy, the last thing I want is someone touching a package. Can't forget about the multiple times I never received a package and the front desk did nothing about it. To top things off, I was falsely sent to a debt collector for move-out expenses that I paid and have proof that I paid on the resident portal and bank statements. Stay far away if you don't want the hassle that comes with this apartment complex.

Unreliable internet. Don't move here if you work from home or enjoy constant internet disruptions. You don't get to use your own equipment. Also water pipes inside the wall are noisy and sound like someone is knocking on your wall. Walls are so thin you can hear every conversation your neighbor is saying.. Maintenance does not have staff to handle emergency after hours
Just moved here recently, and in addition to loving the complex so far, i want to aay that Zia from the leasing office & Kenny from maintenance are awesome!!!!!
The construction across the street is very loud (construction begins at 7am). I was told that you could barely hear it and that the apartment is well insulated, which was a LIE. If you are a light sleeper I would not recommend signing a lease here. When I went to see if I could get my room changed they said I would have to break my lease and pay a ridiculous amount of money. Not only do you have construction that starts at 7am but there is also a train that goes by in the middle of the night and blows its horn. I expected the management to be more understanding because it is pretty expensive to live here but they were not. I am giving this place 2 stars because the complex is nice and the apartment has nice amenities.
The area is beautiful but overall, I wouldn't live here again due to these reasons: 1. Management/employees are almost never knowledgeable, and always says "Someone else will get back to you." There are a few good eggs but I feel like some of those never stay on long enough. 2. The trash areas are the most disgusting I have ever seen in my time at shared living. 3. The amenities were nice, but the upkeep is near non existing. 4. The areas are not cleaned. Dirt, spider webs, wasps nest, etc. 5. Pre-paid parking spots are never enforced. 6. Security is not an issue to them. 7. They don't accept packages for safe keeping. 8. Moving in and out are hassling as they do not allow trucks around the back path to make it easier to move if you do not have a convenient apartment location. For what we paid for, we didn't get in return.

Noisest apartments of my life. Management is terrible and unresponsive. I have obnoxiously loud neighbors pounding on floors, slamming doors, and blaring tv at all hours. Even though it’s after hours and I’ve jumped through all of managements hoops, they have done nothing to enforce their own rules. When I asked to break the lease because I can’t take the lack of sleep was told they will charge me over $3,000. This place is aweful. Terrible construction quality and terrrible management.
I had to shorten my review to fit here, fyi: 1. The entire time I lived there, it was a dusty trash heap. We were told when we moved in that there would be another few months of construction, WRONG, it continued for ONE AND HALF YEARS. construction dust covers everything, anything on your patio is basically ruined, and your car will be covered in filth as well. Every morning, around 8 am or earlier, I was awakened by a loud BEEP BEEP BEEP of construction vehicles. It was MADDENING. 2. This place is lawless with pets. No one enforces any of the grounds rules regarding pets, so tenants think they can let them roam free with any regard for other tenant's safety. I have a dog that is aggressive with approached quickly by other dogs and have had to scoop him up to avoid dog fights on numerous occasions due to a dog running up out of nowhere, basically putting myself between two dogs biting at each other. And if you say something to another tenant with a dog off a leash, they will be extremely rude. I felt unsafe every time I was outside with my dog. 3. When we moved out, we cleaned the unit with in the inch of our lives. It was spotless. There were pretty standard holes left from screws in the walls, but I guess not b/c we were charged $40 for those. And our $250 refundable pet deposit? GONE. Apparently the $250 NON-REFUNDABLE pet deposit you pay in addition to that does not go toward cleaning the carpet. NOPE. apparently the company that "assesses" the state of the carpet after a tenant leaves just takes one look and decides whether it can be cleaned or if it needs to be replaced. In our case, they decided it needed to be replaced, didn't even try and clean it. We didn't even wear shoes inside, and our dog was only allowed in the bedroom when we were sleeping. So after a year of literally just walking lightly on a carpet, we were charged for a total replacement. They kept our deposit and charged us another $300 for the carpet in the bedroom. That is just unbelievable. We even took photos of our carpet before we left, it showed carpet that was slightly depressed from walking on it, that's it. Even with this proof, they made us pay for it, how is that okay?? Basically, DO NOT RENT FROM HERE, and if for some reason you still want to, either don't walk on your carpet EVER, or rent a carpet cleaner before you move out and clean the carpet yourself, b/c they'll probably make you pay for a new one if you don't. But really, just don't move here, it's awful.
I would not recommend living here. I signed my lease over 2 months prior to my move in date and didn't hear a word from anyone. I go to move in and they are asking for all of this information and verification of insurance and what not. Well it would've been nice to have a courtesy call prior to moving in so I knew what to expect. I felt like they didn't even care about a new resident. The office staff are not helpful at all. There is a train less than 100 yards away that is very loud and blows the horn at all hours of the day and night. The construction for phase 2 is also very loud and starts before 8am every day. I have a townhouse with a yard and was told I would be fined if I let my dog go to the bathroom within my own fence. Well what is the point of the yard anyway? The apartment itself is nice-ish. The townhouses do not have a pantry so kitchen space can get tight. The walls are painted with a matte white paint that will scuff if you even look at it wrong. The location is not very good either and you have to drive a ways to get to any decent food places or a good grocery store. Most of their apartments are priced way too high for the value, don't be fooled.
I'm moving out after a year. The location is really close to PGBT and 635 intersection (Northern Irving and NorthWest Dallas), which is nice. Apartments are brand new and a great value for size/price. Wood floors, marble tops, new appliances are really top notch. They even have Dwello so you can remotely unlock front door and possibly control other home devices; not sure, since I never set mine up. I lost power to my apartment for about 5 days and Rockie and her maintenance staff went out of their way to correct with Oncor in a difficult situation. It was only my unit that was affected from a damaged meter somehow. Lucky me! But, the management team and staff are top notch and it really showed in that situation. I only gave 4 stars since there were some occasional noise issues like high pitched noise from nearby warehouse buildings, and maybe 2-3 train horns per week around 5-7am. The noise might also just be my unit location - far north building by creek/woods. The apartments host lots of weekly events - free food, parties, etc. I'd renew my lease except I need to get closer to work. --Brian S/#4137
The Brickyard Apartments & Townhomes is an awesome place to live with a unique style and quiet environment. I've been here for about two weeks and the townhomes are really nice with state of the art appliances and hardwood flooring. The staff is really friendly including my new neighbors. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a new place to live.
