Property Ratings at The Bristol
I've been living in the Bristol for a while now. I like it here, I think the apartments are nice and spacious. They are also a bit of on the older side or maybe it's just my apartment that was roughly used. I like it that it's right next to Park west village, and the apartments are not so close together. But there are some cleaning issues... I've toured a couple apartments this week and The Bristol has by far the the dirtiest buildings. They NEVER, clean the halls or breezeways while they will blow the leaves every week on the parking area... There are spider webs and dead bugs everywhere. Right now, a dirty diaper has been sitting right on the parking lot and I have no idea why. One time, there was dog poo and pee in the breezeways. When I complained on the phone, it kind of sounded like they didn't want to handle it. In the end they dealt with the poo somehow but you can still see the pee stains and honestly its gross. When it's the pollen season, you can't touch anywhere because the whole breezeway will be completely yellow. I mean, don't get me wrong, I still like the property... But These issues are making me think of moving since I'm seeing that other apartments in the area don't have the same problems.
Walked in for information about the community and a tour. Elizabeth was friendly and very knowledgeable. She helped me narrow down what would work best for me. The community was clean and welcoming.

Please don’t move there. Do yourself a favor this people even when you move out would try to charge you for a carpet that anyways they have to replace for next tenant. Their management team is not good you could also get kicked out of the office for confronting them about things They are all about the money not about the residents living Is overpriced apartment and not well made the walls cracked when I was living there everything is a fee. They would remove the bad reviews quick from every single place.

Our experience at the Bristol from initial tour to our soon to be move out has been great! The staff is patient and provides excellent customer service. The maintenance staff responds quickly and resolves any issues you may have. The leasing staff is knowledgeable and friendly. This community is very pet friendly. Your furry friend can even go into the office with you and get a treat :) There is a walking trail that takes you to the shopping center where the Bristol Connection card you receive gives you discounts at many stores/restaurants. It's been a wonderful being part of this community!

Was looking to see what other apartment complexes are out there and realized nothing compares to The Bristol! Awesome location - everything you need is within walking distance. Nice open complex with trails for walking your pet. The staff is top notch - both maintenance and the office. If you ask for it, they will get it done right and in a timely fashion. I've lived here almost 4 years and won't be going anywhere anytime soon!

My daughter and I moved in over 3 years ago. She was a freshman in high school at the time. I wanted to find a place we would stay throughout her high school career. We chose The Bristol and we are very happy we did. We loved the space and the view of the pool was very nice. The staff was always friendly and helpful as well as the maintinence department. I would fill out a request online the night before and almost every time it would be fixed before i returned home from work the next day. The community was wonderful and such a great place to raise my daughter. She got her first job at Kilwins beside the movie theater and we made a lot of friends at the local restaurants in Park West not to mention the great musical concerts all within walking distance. I want to thank you at the Bristol for helping me offer my daughter a safe place for us to make some very lasting memories. I was sad to leave but my work had me commuting an hour each way. That is the ONLY reason I chose to leave.

Living here for just under 2 years. A few weeks ago there were several large and windy rain storms and we noticed on one of the days water in the garage. We figured some water must have gotten in - not the apartments fault we moved some items off the floor and mopped up. Next day more water then we realized it was coming from the back of the garage and from up as boxes on shelves were wet on top. We call the apartments and the first thing they say is we should have reported it the first day. Um some water on a really rainy day (after several in a row) hardly warrants a call to them. Then when they come check out the water they eventually figure out the bath tub in the apt over the garage is leaking and getting increasingly worse as you can now see water spots on the ceiling. They tell us we have to file with our own rental insurance a claim for our water logged things ($500 deductible mind you) and they will "let us" move our things to an adjacent garage. When I ask if they have a cart or something to help move the wet boxes and materials to the dumpster I am told no (they pick up trash almost daily in a cart so I know they do). So we used part of our work day to hurriedly move all our items by ourselves. The way we were treated was unprofessional and clearly uncaring. They acted like they did us a favor by giving a new garage that was 10 steps closer to our stair well. I agree with previous reviewers too. The hallways are dirty and filled with spiderwebs. You can hear your neighbors in the hallways and below you (we are on the top floor) and they are constantly putting notices on your door saying they needing to come into your apartment for "checks" fire alarms, AC, Google Fibre which was mandated to be installed etc etc. Only positive is the location to the restaurants and stores nearby. Calls to upline management were unsatisfactory in resolution. We won't be renewing our lease this time!

We are disappointed to learn of your experience at The Bristol. It is important to us that we address your concerns in hopes of improving your opinion. We strive to provide excellent customer service at all times and apologize that you were left with a negative impression. As you mention, we have been in contact with you regarding the leak within your detached garage. We understand how frustrating this must be and assure you that we are doing everything we can to rectify this situation. Your patience and understanding throughout this ordeal has been amazing and we appreciate your willingness to work with us. Rental insurance is required at our community so that residents are protected from situations such as this. We do feel it is important to note that we do not have golf carts available for residents to use, these vehicles are for our leasing and maintenance team members only. In addition, based on your direct feedback, our team will be inspecting the breezeways for debris and trash. If there is anything further we can do for you at this time, please let us know. We look forward to continuing working with you!
First off, please know this is construction taking place behind the building across from the leasing office. This is an 18 month long construction project that can start as early as 3AM and continue on until 7PM (Monday through Saturday). This is extremely loud construction and makes it unpleasant (to put it nicely) to be in your apartment during those hours. Do not live here if you want peace and quiet. In addition, these apartments were poorly constructed, the walls and floors are paper thin with no cushioning in the cheap carpet. You can hear your neighbors conversations even when they're speaking at a reasonable level. If your neighbor throws a party, expect to hear every minute of the festivities. The residents here are a mixed bag. Mostly rude waspy types. I once stepped in pee in the elevator because someone didn't think it was important to clean up after their dogs. There are parties all nights of the week in the community which you can hear all over. The paint in the hallways is peeling off the walls. They recently updated the outside of the buildings but failed to get the paint sagging off the are bugs all over the hallways with spiders in/around the elevators. The few times I went to the gym the equipment was broken so I just gave up on that amenity. The appliances look nice here, but there are in fact very cheaply made. The walls are a weird texture that just didn't match the feel of the apartment. I wouldn't be fooled by the look of these apartments at all, you will get a cheap/loud experience at luxury prices. Also, don't expect any form of consistency from the office, the turnover rate is crazy. I could go on, but I just warn everyone that it's not as great as it looks.

We are disappointed to learn of your experience at The Bristol. We would like to take this opportunity to address your concerns in hopes of changing your opinion. It is understandable that the construction noise can be frustrating; however, it is only temporary and will soon subside. Living in such an up and coming area has it’s perks but with that comes new businesses and construction, which is beyond our control. As you know, our team has been working with you in order to alleviate these concerns; this includes offering an on-site transfer to another home where the noise is not as prominent. Through our discussions, we were able to identify areas of concern (such as the hallways) that may have needed a little extra care. We have since hired a professional cleaning service to address these issues. Your feedback is very much appreciated, as we are always looking for ways to improve. We encourage you to let us know if there is anything further we can do for you at this time. We look forward to working with you and proving to you that our community is a great place to call home!
I went to The Bristol to tour earlier this week and had a wonderful experience with the leading staff. I believe Jordan was the woman who guided me through the whole experience and it was great! She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the floor plan. The inside of the apartments are beautiful and so is all they have to offer. I can't wait to apply for an apartment!

The complex seemed nice at first. It looked lovely, but it was a front. The place is poorly run. The office staff was misleading, unhelpful, and deceitful most of the time. The staff is constantly changing. It took 3-4 visits over the course of two months just for them to believe that we had a water leak. The AC broke numerous times in July. They lied and lost parts of the leasing paperwork, tenants became leaseholders and our end date got moved from August to next April without our knowledge or consent. Plus when we found mold growing in the apartment (mainly coming from the locked heating unit room) we were blamed and yelled at by office staff. They basically became bullies to us. Literally threatening us. The place looks nice but stuff is made of cheap material. The floor dents from having furniture sit on it. You are better off fixing things yourself unless maintenance knows exactly what the problem is. Even then, it might be done quicker and better if you find a way to fix it yourself. On the plus side it is close to quite a few things and has good parking.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of The Bristol. We apologize for any frustration caused by the AC leak within your apartment home. With leaks, it can sometimes be tricky to identify the source of the problem and may require numerous visits to fully repair the area. As you know, our team worked closely with you in order to resolve this matter to your satisfaction. In addition we take moisture related concerns very seriously, which is why we visited your home within 24-hours of being notified. Our team addressed this concern and offered tips for preventing moisture buildup in the future. If you continue to experience any problems, please reach out to us as soon as possible. Our team would very much like the opportunity to sit down with you in hopes of improving your overall experience here. At your earliest convenience, please contact us. We look forward to working with you!
Like somebody else who mentioned it here, problems started after we left. The office folks are friendly, very prompt in maintenance, have regular social events and such. However, beware when you leave. We had one sticker that said "Yay" that I left on one of the kitchen cabinet. BOOM! $160 to replace it. We have some wax dropped on one portion of the carpet. I am sure any professional worth his salt could have removed it. We had pictures taken and I didn't see any reason for it to be a nasty stain. $360 for replacing the carpet. These guys are ridiculous. They will then "do you a favor" and give you a 20% discount if you pay in full. I wouldn't recommend this place purely because of the attitude of the management company based out of Richmond. If you take up the complaints to the office folks here, they will pretend like they have nothing to do with it and ask you to deal with the Richmond folks. The Richmond folks would recommend dealing with the office folks. Tired of the extortion, one would just pay up and leave. I have lived in 4 apartments prior to this and never had to pay for cleanup or any damages.

We are disappointed to learn of your experience at The Bristol. It is important to us that we address your concerns in hopes of changing your opinion. When a resident decides to leave our community, we strive to make the move-out process as easy as possible. Any move-out charges are based on estimates and suggestions from professional service providers. We encourage residents to schedule a walk-through inspection prior to moving out, so there are no surprises. We consider move-out inspections to be a very important step in the move-out process and document all damages and take photos for verification. In this particular case, the carpet had damages that required a more extensive treatment. If you would like to discuss this further or view the move-out photos, please contact us. We wish you all the best in your new home! Sincerely, The Bristol Team
Horrible construction. At first we thought it was just the foundation settling, but now we have realized that this is just poorly and quickly constructed. First and foremost the Toilet paper holders were placed to close together so you can't even put a roll of TP in it. There is a vertical crack above every door frame, and only two of the doors in the apartment latch when they are shut. The bath tub make a clicking noise when you step in certain spots, and you can feel it move and give. The apartment staff had to come in about 8 months after we moved in to add anchor screws to the cabinets, because they did not during construction and people were having cabinets fall off the wall. If I could give zero stars I would. The Bristol markets itself as luxury apartments, but these don't even hold up to affordable college apartments I lived at in Rocky Mount and Wilson. I pay over 1,000 dollar a month for 800 sqft apartment that is maybe worth 850 a month. STAY AWAY FROM THE BRISTOL!
