Southside Flats is one of two neighborhoods that make up Pittsburgh's dynamic Southside. The primarily residential neighborhood is located at the base Mount Washington, Southside's enormous hill. It also sits right under the Southside Slopes, the other Southside neighborhood, which runs precariously up the hillside. Residents of the Flats have convenient access to the hottest shopping and nightlife district in Pittsburgh, as well as riverfront trails and parks.
The lively neighborhood lies south of the Monongahela River and south of East Carson Street, known as the "Great American Main Street." One of Pittsburgh's major commercial corridors, East Carson Street offers 15 blocks of Victorian architecture, boutiques, restaurants, bars, art galleries, theatres, and live music venues.
Southside has experienced a residential renaissance, as older 19th-century homes, abandoned factories, and mills are being renovated into modern houses, apartments, and luxury lofts.

Property Ratings at The Brix at 26
This property is deceiving. From the initial move in, the apartment was not clean and the washer and dryer were broke. It took 3 weeks for maintenance to determine that replacement appliances were needed. In 2024 there has been an issue monthly. One of the 2 elevators for the entire property was down for almost two months. This year alone there is an issue every month. May the storage area in the basement was flooded with significant damage to my items and other residents. June there were electrical issues with entry into the building. July 5th, there were electrical issues for entry/exit to the garage that is an additional $175/month. July 7th there was another flood. This time it affected residents on the 4th-6th floors, causing damage to residents on the floors items. For the amount of money that is paid for rent, there shouldn't be recurring issues. Hudson management does not immediately address issues that inconvenience residents. Nor do they deduct from monthly rent. For the second flood in July, there were huge fans/humidifiers placed in my apartment to remove moisture from the flood. The fan was extremely loud. I was not given a hotel voucher for a place to stay during this inconvenience.
This apartment building is wonderful. The staff is amazing. It has every amenity you could ask for and the location is great.

Thank you for your review! We are pleased to hear that you like our historic complex and our staff, and we do take pride in our beautiful Brix building and making our residents feel at home!
I have a fourth floor apartment that looks out at Carson Street and love the high ceilings, it makes my apartment feel so much larger with the huge windows. Everyone is always helpful and friendly, especially the concierge, he helped me with my move in.

Thank you for the review, and we are very happy to hear that you love your apartment! Enjoy the views!
The apartment itself is top notch, but the service coming from management and staff what sets the Brix apart from everything else. The staff takes a lot of pride it keeping the building well maintained and are always open to feedback from residents. They are always hosting great events like craft beer tastings, live musics, and complimentary coffee and doughnuts on the weekends. Derrick is the concierge assistant at the property and is always bringing my packages directly to my door or letting me in my unit if I ever forget my keys. The service is what really makes this place awesome to live at.

We definitely are always open to resident feedback. We do hope to continue to host events, albeit with social distancing in mind now. Derrick is an asset to our property and beloved by many residents! Thank you again for your comments!
