Perched on the edge of the ocean, Downtown Long Beach merges the urban lifestyle of Los Angeles with a distinctly laid-back beach town vibe. The local dining scene is full of your next favorites, especially if you love seafood. The East Village Arts District cultivates the neighborhood’s creative side, and numerous specialty galleries and performance venues abound.
The city celebrates its diverse population with an eclectic roster of cultural festivals, attracting folks from all across the region throughout the year. The coastline is immensely popular among visitors and locals alike, with Alamitos Beach and ShoreLine Aquatic Park providing excellent venues for hanging out and soaking up the sunshine.
Unlike much of the LA area, Long Beach has earned recognition as being exceptionally bicycle-friendly, giving folks Downtown the ability to easily get around without a car.

Property Ratings at Onni East Village
Terrible experience ever since signing the lease. The "resident services" part of leasing office appears chronically understaffed (or simply ignoring residents after they sign the lease?). During the weeks leading up to our move-in date, we could hardly get anyone to reply to emails asking to confirm simple details and logistics. No-one picked up the phone either despite multiple attempts. On move-in date, we had to wait for 15-20min before anyone would acknowledge us and give us unit keys, since the leasing agent that was duty "doesn't deal with move-ins". We also did not get parking allocation on move-in date, despite clearly signing up for parking in the lease - it ended up taking 5 days to finally get a spot, and even so, first spot we were assigned turned out to belong to a different resident, and had to be corrected. Best for last.... our AC has hardly worked since moving in, and effectively completely gave up a couple days into the lease. It has now been two weeks since formally logging a maintenance request, power to the ac has been turned off by maintenance, and it has been 80+ deg and close to 80% humidity in the unit.
The leasing staff are rude and seems like we are bothering each time we bring up anything. The dog park inside smells like pee. The small fridges break all time and th sliding doors in closet. They promise $80 parking spots but fail to mention they are compact spots and big trucks park in the compact spots blocking traffic. Random fire alarms at like 2am making us all evacuate. Enter for maintenance with short notice. Internet is always down. The elevators were broken for months. Getting your packages after 6pm. Cars in the lot get broken into.
I love my time so far with ONNI. It’s centrally located and close to resources, shopping and public outdoor spaces. All the staff is genuinely kind and welcoming. Neighbors are respectful, views are incredible, public spaces are always spotlessly clean and the elevator will make you forget you live in a high rise, you’ll be on your floor within seconds after selecting the destination. Quick favorites: - The temperature controlled pool!….and giant hot tub! - The front desk that accepts your deliveries and saves them from porch pirates or multiple delivery attempts - The staff - The high speed internet across the building - The offices and work spaces available to those who work from home Not a favorite: - Tiny fridge - Extremely sensitive smoke detectors and poor cross ventilation
Great place with an even greater community! Been living in the Onni for almost a year now and hands done best apartment complex I’ve lived. The amenities are a 10 out of 10 and the staff is always hosting events for the people that live here. We’ve been working with one the leasing agents Garrett and even after signing our lease he’s been a text or call away for anything we need. Would recommend this place to anyone and ask for Garrett he’ll for sure take care of you.
It's a nice place to live, always clean, the staff it's so friendly, gym and pool amazing. We were looking for a good place in Long Beach and Onni was one of the best options, Garret helped us with our process to apply, he was patient and kind.
Beautiful building, great amenities, and the staff is great including Garrett. Garrett really sold us and made it feel like home! Best decision thus far!
Garrett was incredibly helpful during the move in process! We were moving across the country and couldn't see the place in person however he went above and beyond and very out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and confident with our choice. After moving in he and the rest of the staff have been helpful and there at every turn! Thank you OEV staff and Garrett for everything!
We have had issues with management since day one. None of these people seem to know how to send an email. If you submit a maintenance request, they take weeks upon weeks to respond to it. On top of that, when they finally do show up to perform repairs, it's always unannounced (I've not gotten notice once). We've also had several run-ins with bad/aggressive dogs, once where our dog was bitten and left with puncture wounds on its side. Management did nothing about it and the dog still lives in the community. Follow up emails about recurring run-ins with bad dogs go unanswered. Management and guest services don't care about the safety of its tenants or the pets that live here. We will not be renewing, and I encourage anyone considering this "community" to look elsewhere. You can get a lot more for a lot less, I wish we had looked more before signing here.
I've been looking for an upscale , clean, respectful place to stay while working as a Physician at the Long Beach VA Medical Center. Onni East Village is above and beyond my expectations . Garrett has been absolutely wonderful in finding the right apartment for me and assisting with the move in. He deserves more than 5 stars for being so professional, kind ,considerate and helpful. OEV is the only place that I've seen that rewards health care workers with a concession towards rent /expenses . I'm so grateful for that! I'm really looking forward to settling into my new beautiful apartment and telling others about OEV .
tried to believe it was just growing pains.... but every day it gets worse..... I wanted to love this place so much... now I wake up sad every day
Me and my boyfriend just moved into the OEV and we LOVE it. Tyler was our leasing agent and he made everything a breeze. Moving can be stressful but this one was NOT. Thank you Tyler :)
Yes, the apartments look nice and the amenities are great, but I put in a maintenance request when I first moved in 2 months ago, and the issue is yet to be fixed. I don’t need a sauna as often as I need a working shower. Also, the $80 “premium” WiFi is garbage.
