Property Ratings at The Brockman Lofts
Amenities are really bad. The pool is ugly and it could be easily changed and be more welcoming. The leasing office people should be nicer. There is no sense of community. But I love the location and the unit and in general is a really cool place to live. It would be nicer if the pool is made like a little oasis with much more plants and something that blocks a little bit the ugly building next to us.
Its a beautiful apartment, we love lofts. Mine has light wood floors which is great!
yes
the few improvements have not made my living experience more fabulous or better. Matter of fact hard to figure out what improvements we have really gotten.
Nice lofts - I would definitely live here if single. Perfect location, good value for DTLA. Since I am moving with a partner I'm still thinking about whether a loft is good for two people with schedule asynchrony.
Christian is the best maintenance guy this property has had

I wish there was always coverage at the front desk.

The units are beautiful, unique and fantastic. The area (DTLA) is getting a little rough with the homeless population exploding. The appliances (AC unit, dishwasher, washer/dryer) are really, really bad - they never worked properly for me, even after dozens of maintenance fixes (and even replacing the washer/dryer) - they are no where close the quality you would get in other apartment complexes. But the units are beautiful and one of a kind.

I would recommend this apartment based on the security aspect alone and also the quietness if the building and fantastic amenities. Of course, I wish it was a little cheaper.

Not having a dog run is a bit of a bummer just simply because of the need to let my dog pee on the sidewalk downtown. I feel like it really adds to the grossness of downtown. The aroma of pee in the area is not pleasant at all and to have to walk my dog around the block to be 'hit up' for a dollar at least twice in a few min does not make for a pleasant doggie relief experience AT ALL.
This maintenance interaction is one of very few things I like. Elevator saga is unacceptable, not a day goes by without something broken: elevator, spa, trash, etc.. Impossible for two cars to pass each other on way into garage as garage ramp has cars parked on both sides with one lane in/out. The alley is ALWAYS jam packed. Front desk is only there at night, never daytime. I would advise everyone I know to stay away from this property.
Living situation has been amazing. But all of the appliances/maintenance issues have plagued the experience. Have had non stop issues in the 3+ years I've lived here.
I have not recommended this property to individuals who have asked me about it. I have told them that you have to overcome a lot of things that are a given at other properties such as effective, on site management, poor routine cleaning and maintenance as well as value for your dollar. I also tell them you really have to love the architecture and space you will be living in, because if you don't you will never overcome what is missing.
Brockman is a gorgeous property and the quality is top notch! Having an awesome staff just adds to the charm that is this small loft community!
We have felt so comfortable and at home here at the Brockman. Every member of the staff is fantastic and it remains a great community of people.
The community is what stands out to me. The residents are respectful of each other, and they keep to themselves, but are also very supportive of each other. It's not a party building, unlike most of the buildings downtown, it's more like a little neighborhood, and that's what makes it special.
Every employee works so hard and are so helpful and pleasant. I just don't understand why they are so understaffed.
We are quite pleased so far.
This is a great place to live.
