Stretching north from Allentown along the Lehigh River to Spring Street, Whitehall is a family-friendly township with terrific shopping and a fascinating history. Along MacArthur Road, Whitehall’s “Golden Strip,” you’ll find the vast Lehigh Valley Mall, one of the region’s largest indoor malls, as well as Whitehall Mall and several strip plazas. This is also where you’ll find a variety of restaurants, from local favorites like Whitehall Diner to popular chains and mall staples.
Formed in 1752, Whitehall was supposedly named for a hunting lodge in the area. Lynford Lardner, the lodge’s owner, painted it with a whitewash and although the lodge was named “Grouse Hall,” everyone referred to it as the “white hall.” One of the historic landmarks in Whitehall, the Helfrich Springs Grist Mill, was built in 1807. Today, it is owned by the Whitehall Historical Society and is open to the public for special events, scheduled tours, and monthly meetings.

Property Ratings at The Brooke by OneWall
I lived in this community for 3 years, and have positive and negative things to say about my experience. Positive: the townhomes are spacious and have a great location (near Jordan Creek Park). The community is relatively quiet, and well kept. I feel that maintenance was good and responsive to any needs that I had. Negative: The management operation DOES NOT CARE about its residents. -our move in (which was scheduled for 9AM) was delayed until 3PM as we sat with our movers outside the apartment in the summer heat because of a pre-move-in maintenance scheduling mistake (with a 2 month old baby) was the first in a long line of communication missteps by this leasing office. - although the leasing office is quick to put out community-wide messages about dogs and parking problems, important information like changes to the amenities and communication from the town regarding garbage/recycling pickup were never addressed. Even after repeated emails, phone calls, and messages in the property management app. - the yearly updates to our lease provided significant challenges for the rude and unapologetic leasing office, and even when we pointed out contractual errors that prevented us from signing our lease updates we were told “I don’t know what to tell you, just don’t re-sign your lease then,” by Marie. - our security deposit, which by Pennsylvania law was required to be returned to us within 30 days of successfully surrendering the property, took 76 days to refund. This was after 3 emails to the management organization (including the multi-site manager, Sarah), 2 voicemails directly to the leasing office which were never returned, and threatening a law suit to the corporate office, which finally produced some action. I would highly recommend thinking twice before signing a lease with this company. Their unscrupulous business practices and failure to communicate with residents makes living here a real challenge.
The apartments are spacious and a lovely community however the management and their lack of communication, lack of action in getting things done, and overall demeanor makes this place miserable to live in. You have to wait months for things to get fixed and are not informed at all. The maintenance for the apartment is not done in an efficient way-if it snows you may be stuck because they don’t plow the roads for a few days. The lack of professionalism really taints a beautiful place. Also, they charge too much for dogs. Tread lightly!
