The Brownstones at Englewood South

I give the community 5 stars due to the great staff of the leasing office and maintenance staff. The apartment/townhouses would be a 4 rating as there are areas that could be improved, such as the carpet, would absolutely love and need a bigger pool. The pool is too small especially when the adults are trying to enjoy the pool among the numerous children present. Overall the pool is too small to accommodate the amount of residents.

The community and apartments seem nice at a glance but these apartments are far from luxury even though the rent prices are pretty high. All materials and fixtures used are very cheap and fall apart and breakdown frequently. The maintenance team cannot keep up with all the issues of the apartments and repairs are painfully slow. The apartments are also poorly insulated and electricity bill is always high. The street adjacent to the building, Nordhoff place is rather quiet on the weekends but during the weekdays, there is surprisingly high traffic including large trucks. If you work remotely, it will drive you insane if you have an apartment that face Nordhoff. I really hate living here and cannot wait to move out.

I've recently moved here and so far; it has been extremely pleasant and welcoming. The staff is great and helpful. It's also very clean. The convenience of the shops locations is also great.

Peaceful environment. Maintenance is amazing. Any issue I had with my apartment, my online request was quickly managed and fixed within hours. Landscape well kept. Concierge staff very friendly and so accommodating. I needed my package picked up but I was unable to do so because I was working during the concierge hours. I called the concierge and he delivered and left the package at my door.

The staff are very friendly and I feel like the apartment facilities are well maintained, so I am completely satisfied. One disadvantage is that there are not many outdoor parking lots, so if you arrive late, you have to walk around for a long time to find a place to park.

Love it here Laura is amazing great amenities and activities. Can’t explain how happy I am Loving here at the brownstones. Especially moving from another state.

I’ve been living at the brownstone for almost 5 years now and my personal experience is that leasing personal are very attentive and most the know your name which is very helpful

Great community: overall atmosphere is inclusive and friendly, quiet, yet sociable as there are often events on the grounds, including movies nights during the summer / fall months. A great deal of effort goes into finding ways to support a community experience for all! I stand firm in my statement that this a great community for individuals and more importantly, families. Do consider, calling it your new home!

Good luck getting anything handled. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of the office staff. There is dog poop everywhere. The new “lifestyle fee” should be used to powerwash the sidewalks so it doesn’t smell like dog urine everytime it rains.

Nothing in life is perfect. With that being said. Outside of the things that we have no control over, the property is great. Whenever you bring up an issue, the maintenance crew handles as soon as possible. The management staff is friendly, respectful and very responsible with issues. We have had a lackluster management staff prior the the current staff. Hope this crew stays as long as possible. The management company has made many improvements to the property. Since moving here about 5 yrs ago, the atmosphere here has dramatically improved. Thank for all you do!!

Office staff are very attentive to any issues that arise and always available. Other tenants are nice and very respectful of everyone else living here.

Great place to live! Love the community gatherings. Great staff and maintenance crew. We have been here for over 8 years and don't want to leave.

Though everyone has been friendly so far, I'm disappointed in how small the apt is. We never got to see the apt and only saw the model apt. The apt was misleading. Would like more space but it's not worth the money

Great location, the grounds are beautiful, staff is awesome, and the property is very well set up with different places to relax/entertain/play games. It's really nice living here and it was important to me how dog friendly the community is.

It has everything you need. They do cute little events every month which is nice. The apartments are a good size. They’re on top of their maintenance which is good when you need help immediately.

Very nice community. It is a very clean community as well. Very nice people and very friendly pets. It’s very quiet as well I don’t hear much going on at all noise wise. Also, the only downside is They will hold your mail or send it back if you’re late on rent for whatever reason.

More lights in the hall way please. Very scary at night and looks like a factory when it is dark. It will be really nice if we add more lights.

The leasing office, concierge, and maintenance crew are all amazing to work with. Everyone is very helpful and anything you need is taken care of right away. The community is immaculate. All the neighbors seem pretty laid back and friendly too. I love it here.

There is poor communication between management and tenant, including the regional manager who never followed up on my concerning email . The community itself is beat up and maintaince here takes no partake in fixing the garbage room that falling apart or the walls in the hallway that have major water leak damage now for 5 mon. Was really embarrassed to have family over ! The carpet in the hallways have stains and missing pieces .

I’ve had a good experience living in the brownstone in Englewood. The neighborhood is vibrant, with a mix of things to do and eat near by! The staff is also very nice and helpful.

The Brownstones at Englewood South are in an excellent location with easy access to restaurants, retail stores, and healthcare. The complex is very well maintained and the staff have been very attentive to any questions or needs. The gym and pool area are well kept and you have access to secure parking for a fee. The complex is also pet friendly, which is great. So far it has exceeded our expectations and we are happy to recommend the complex highly.

Very nice community overall, neighbors are friendly courteous and respectful. Best feature for families / pet lovers is the open, unrestricted courtyard for play / relaxation. Enjoying our new residence thus far.

Neighbors could be a bit nicer but that doesn’t bother me much. Parking is challenging for my guests. But maintenance is great and answers quickly.

We are on our third lease and can not say enough good things about this place! Communities continually change and this one is change for the better for sure. The staff is great too, from management to maintenance.

Community is peaceful very clean and loved newly renovated pool amenities.

The residents are very nice it’s very clean. Neighbors with dogs are very clean as well and considerate of other residents without pets. The staff is cool. It’s like a place you’d see in a snow globe because it’s like a little world of its own. I like it here and my family like it’s here.

Friendly and clean community . Leasing office is fantastic!! Just moved in on Friday so have not been able to do much . The ALUM ALUM was great and the juice bar was also great !

We love living here and will stay as long as we can. Staff and maintenance crew do have us never wanting to leave. Everything is well taken care of and the hallways are very clean. Lovely flowers abound making it a pleasure to walk around.

The concierges and maintenance staff are excellent but office management are at times less than helpful. Otherwise, I enjoy living at The Brownstones.

It’s truly a great community to live in. From the leasing office all the way to the employees who tend to the building all have great energy and a smile when greeted. Love the technology and ease to request service, receive notifications , to entering maintaince service is a 10!

Once I found The Brownstones as a well reviewed pet friendly community in the area I made it a priority in my apartment hunting journey. My leasing agent Franklin was quick to respond, friendly, helpful and easy to get a hold of. The unit is in great condition, spacious, and well priced. Everyone is friendly and the community is well kept. Incredibly happy with my choice.

We are here almost 8 years. We have enjoyed the community feeling and the various gatherings. Most residents are friendly and respectful of other people and pets. We look forward to spring to get outside again.

The Brownstone South is a great place to call home after a long day of work. The management team and maintenance staff are always eager to help or finding creative solutions to one's needs.
