Property Ratings at The Cape at Grand Harbor
Where do I begin! The staff is wonderful, professional and super nice. The apartment I saw was very beautiful. The process was easy and they are very helpful and will answer any questions asked. I can’t wait to call this place home sweet home!
Love it! Beautiful place and the office staff is amazing! Recommend 100%
Terrible experience. They gave wrong information which made me submit an application. Then they stopped responding and changed the story when I showed up at the office in person. Manager never took any responsibility for their staff providing incorrect information and acted as if it was my problem and not hers. I pulled out and did not sign the lease at this place. They would not give money back...bad business practice but I decided to not to move into a place that does not have fair business practice and accountability/ownership. Parking at this place is horrible....even when I went to visit, they had to open the attached garage of the apartment to let me park there during the day when everyone is at work....imagine when everyone else come back in the evening... Stay away from this place
I have had an amazing experience at this apartment complex. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the maintenance guys are incredible. They are very present, and always kind. The grounds are well kept, and the apartments are tucked away just enough to keep things peaceful, but are also close to anything you would need/want! We do not have a problem with pests (thank goodness) and we have no problem with the amenities.
Apartment buildings are infested with roaches, they would come out of the electrical outlet when I dried my hair or unplugged anything. Was told by management that it was probably became of my dogs water bowl. Had them spray twice, my dog got sick from the spray. Management does not care because they don't live there. Never felt at home.
Today I decided to leave this review after coming back from the Easter breakfast hosted by the management team. It was, I believe, our first time going to an event hosted by the apartment just because we haven't found the time for previous events. But anyway, they set up all the donuts, fruits, pastry and beverages beautifully along with the Easter decorations, and it inspired me to write this review. This place is amazing. We moved in back in December 2016, and ever since then, we've never had any issue that made us want to move out or anything. The staff members always talk to us professionally, with respect, maintenance issues get fixed right away, we don't have to bring up the same problems over and over again, and they take good care of all the plants, pool, and parking lot around the complex. Of course, our apartment is beautiful, too! I've seen many people frustrated with their leasing office or maintenance staff in their apartment, and we used to be one of them when we lived in another complex, but this place is just so lovely. If you're hesitating, just talk to the office first and then go from there. I guarantee the staff will do anything to assist you!
I’ve been living at CGH for a few months now and despite some unattentiveness from one or two in years he office when I went to view before moving, a guy named Justin made it really welcoming. As a tenant now, I see the others work just as hard; however, Justin really listens and seems to know all the ends and outs. He ensures things are done correctly. When you get him, you never have to repeat a call or request anything twice. That’s what I like and enjoy and the reason why I’m still here. ;outside of the Nice floor plans and great location). Thank you Justin!
My best friend lived in these apartments (#202) for 3 years before she suddenly passed away last week. Her family discovered her body and the apartment staff were so hateful, rude and insensitive that they were immediately asking how soon the family could remove the furniture and vacate the apartment. WHO DOES THAT? The family was there, in shock, devastated and all they could do was focus on getting the apartment rented out as quickly as possible. My plan is to reach out to the state of Texas to make a formal complaint!
In the 10 months living at The Cape, the quality of the property management and residents declined significantly. The following occurred at The Cape: * The trash situation is and has always been a significant problem. Trash dumpsters continuously overflow, becoming an unsightly eye sore, not to mention a health hazard. Every time this problem was brought to the attention of property management, the answer was always the same. "We're working on it" After 10 months, the problem still exists. * Due to efforts to fill capacity of rental units, apartment rents were greatly reduced. The quality of residents suffered drastically. Residents wandered the property throughout the night, bringing loud conversations and music with them. * Several rental units, as well as vehicles, were broken into. * There was drug trafficking occurring on the property. * A resident discharged a firearm on the patio of his rental unit. * A resident committed suicide by hanging himself in his garage. * Property management made no efforts to curtail the problems. Instead, they were more focused on power washing the buildings and painting the lines for parking spaces. * On numerous occasions, the security gates to the premises were out of order from 4 days to over 2 weeks, thereby eliminating secure access to the complex. * Property management accepted lease agreements to be signed by parents to allow their children to live on the premises (whose children could not afford rent). * On multiple occasions, voice mails messages were left for property management, who never returned the calls. * Upon departing The Cape, a final Statement of Security was provided. There were a number of significant errors in the statement, overstating the amount owed by over $4,000. Three days after receipt of the statement, multiple calls were made (voice mail) to property management, of which none of the messages have been returned. In summary, if you're looking for an apartment, and come across The Cape, PASS ON IT!!!!!!!!
So, we moved in August of 2016, and we love it. Everyone in the office is so nice, and any maintenance issues are handled very quickly. I was a little worried when we got a new manager recently; however, Jennifer has turned out to be awesome! Soon we will be getting door to door trash pick-up and recycling. In addition, they are starting to re-stripe the parking area. All of this after she arrived. Also, it seems there are more community functions since she came on board. The only reason we'd leave is due to relocation or getting a house.
This is a great little apartment community. The new staff (2016) is awesome, like the last one was. They helped me figure out some lease things with another apartment community--just because they are really nice and wanted me to be treated well. The grounds are kept clean. It's mostly very quiet in my 2nd floor apartment. You do get the occasional obnoxious visitor who leaves his subwoofer turned up in his car. And you definitely see that people don't always pick up after their dogs. They actually repair things within 48 hours of reporting. I'm really happy with the apartment and the staff and have extended my lease.
Just off I-10 and convenient to many local shoppingvenues. Quiet with gym, pool, and good parking. Excellent responsive manangement.
friendly & welcoming manager; relaxing and refreshing pool; quiet and comfortable apartments; glad I choose Dolce Living Apts.
A great apartment complex that is near malls, dining, and easy access to major freeways. Brand new facilities that welcome pets, and the management team is very professional and the nicest I have ever dealt with. First class from the apartments, amenities, to the management team.
So far we have really enjoyed living here. At first there were a few hiccups with the Staff and one person in particular but she is gone now and the Staff here is Amazing. They go out of there way to make you feel welcome when you stop by the office. The maintenance staff is wonderful!! Any time we have a question or a work order they hop on it very quickly. The apartments are just as beautiful as the pictures and the pool is huge!! Our neighbors have been pretty great so far except for one and that was dealt with very quickly and appropriately. Parking can be a hassle but many of the apartments have garages like ours so its not to bad. We do hope that we keep having a wonderful experience with this place as we would love stay here.
I moved here last month due to a job relocation. The staff here went out of there way to make my move less strenuous. Job transfer, move, family is left behind, the ladies had me a beautiful apartment, gave me the name of a few companies to rent furniture from. I came home my apartment was set up and a beautiful basket was setting on my counter top. The card read you had your reservation on moving here do to the social media reviews, we thank you for allowing myself and team to show you what beautiful apartment living is all about. Thank you, for turning your cheek and giving us the opportunity to show that people talk and sometimes all is not the truth. Thank you. Management
I was super excited about the complex, it is nice to look at, nice layout, good location but management...listen up! You need to take a hard look at your staff and replace the snide, unfriendly females, there is one exception and you know who it is. There are a lot of individuals that would be happy to be employed right now and would likely pass the happiness onto your residents. Take heed, because they will be your downfall.
we have been inspected 4 time in the past 2 months, just received a letter in our door saying they are coming back for a "fire extinguisher inspection" and if we don't leave our door unlocked its a $75 dollar fee. the staff treat the place like its their own bathroom. they chain up the pool at their own will yet the staff who live here use the pool after hours when ever they want to. DO YOUR SELF A HUGE FAVOR AND RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. its looks nice but not worth the hassle. i cant wait until the lease us up, i'm getting a head ache now...
I lived here for 9 months, and I could not wait to get out of there. When I moved in the staff was nice and friendly and the place seemed to be on track...not so. They hired a manager that was not up to par (she later got let go), other staff started to leave because of the poor management. Apartment itself is nice, but you can see how they have cut corners. The amenities are okay, when you can access them. For the longest most amenities were not ready for use yet, but we pay rent for it! Parking is horrible if you come home after 8pm. The randomly started converting some space to handicap spaces (which I am sure legally they have to) but there are no thought behind where they put them and not by any entrance ramps (smh) Construction going on every morning starting as early as 5-6 am. If I had been told there was going to be a phase II built by my building I would have picked an apartment on the other side of the complex. The rent concession offered does not come close to cover the noise and inconvenient. This property has potential once construction is complete and they get properly trained staff but at this time I do not recommend anyone to lease there.
Today I came home and was presented with an Eviction Notice. Goes back to the lack of people in the front office (person I worked with is no longer here) that follow through on contracts. I was floored!! The weak links are gone and it is changing to be a positive place. Honestly though I really like my place here and renewed until March of 2015. It is just frustrations that I had from day 1. Although at the same time new people are changing that negative feedback and this property is on the right track. Keep this property in consideration when looking at others. It is nice.
We've been here for about 8 months and absolutely can't wait for our lease to end. The construction noise is an absolute daily nuisance. 7AM even on the weekends, but seems to calm down just in time for office hours and possibly for the purpose of prospective resident tours. THIS IS A NOISY RESIDENCE! Until construction is complete, I do not recommend. The $50 concession is in no way in my opinion makes up for this inconvenience. The apartment walls are thin. You will hear your neighbor on a regular basis. Maintenance requests generally take more than 3-4 business days to be resolved. Not sure why. Staffing seems to have a high turn over. Parking is a nightmare if you have more than one vehicle. The gym is tiny and inadequate for workouts. If you're a person that works out daily....keep your gym membership....you'll be bored within a week. The apartment utilities are very inefficient. We run out of hot water after one 10 minute shower. The water utility and electric cost is 60% more than my utilities for my {larger} 3 bedroom home. The office staff is very professional and kind, however it does not make up for the noise, inconveniences and community issues.
We have been here for 3 months now, the leasing was a long process, got offered a special, but told it did not apply to unit, so on, so forth. Mostly training aspects with there agents. We gave them a punch list of items that needed to be addressed before we moved in, since it was just finished being built. NONE of the items we looked at over the week. We still do not have window screens. Manager is Nice, but just to your face, be very careful of theese people if you rent, its like a day care drama center up there.
I moved in the apartments when they first opened. I like the apartments a lot! The staff is really nice too--especially Dina the Manager. I do think it's a bit overpriced--I mean come on it's Katy and we live by cows. Not exactly prime location... The apartments itself are gorgeous. It has stainless steel appliances, faux wood pretty much everywhere, full sized washer and dryer (they're pretty great too), crown molding, beautiful lighting, garden tubs, framed mirror in the restroom and a gorgeous pool area. Their workout area is a little obsolete. I mean I would never go there... Also, the really don't have an office area, which is super odd. They don't even have computers or printers for the residents... not even WIFI. Now, this could be because it's still new, but I doubt it. I mean I like living there and I'm pretty darn hard to please. I'm that costumer/tenant! It's far from... EVERYTHING, but I like the quietness of the area. Plus, there is an availability to all the necessities, for example, groceries, police station, banks, shopping, etc. Maintenance service is great, in my opinion. I had a sugar ant and silverfish problem when I first moved in, but that was probably because of construction. I mean we did mess with their habitat. Also, one time I saw the biggest snake in the complex I've ever laid eyes on that wasn't in a zoo or tank. I mean it was huge! Again, this is the country and snakes are everywhere and we built apartments on their home, so I'm expecting to see another one some time soon. I'd suggest it to my older friends because they would love it. I'd say, it's not really apartments for those who are in their twenties or like to be in the "happening spot." Then again, who really wants those tenants. They're loud and don't pay rent on time Ha!
Property Manager at The Cape at Grand Harbor, Responded To This Review
What's sad is my experience has been a carbon copy of your's. I just moved in recently (Sept) and still waiting on things to be done. HORRIBLE SERVICE HERE!!
The apartments themselves are nice but that's where the nice ends. The staff is friendly and makes you feel like they care about you as soon as they get you to sign a lease thats it. It takes forever to get any issues handled, I notified them of problems on move in day and was told they would be taken care of immediately, nearly a month after moving in and many phone calls asking for them to do my requests later I finally got my service. Bugs in my apartment before I even moved in and then more appeared after moving in and they blame me for it. Every issue I have I get the run around that they have to talk to the manager that they will get back to me but it never happens and I have to call back. I regret moving in here I have never received such poor service in an apartment complex before. Oh and to top it off if you need help after hours for things like oh I don't know getting locked of the complex don't even bother trying to call the after hours line it just hangs up on you.
the complex is very nice and yes construction is in abundance, but you get a true luxury apartment the master bedroom has a tub and shower combo, double sinks or a single sink and lots of counter space, (*depends on unit) they have stainless steel appliances package Refrigerator, Stove, Dishwasher, Built In Microwave there is also a Full Sized Washer and Dryer, the staff is very kind and patient, they can only do the best that they can while construction continues, I and my husband while searching in Katy for an apartment, we applied online and got the apt in 3 days, so service is swift, the kitchen layouts are an example of the space being used properly; I'd give them a try. Yes, I recommend them, construction will end soon!
Unfortunately must agree with other tenant review. We have had the same problems as well in regard to promptness of handling maintenance requests (at the moment there is only one maintenance person for the community) our own issues took more than 5 business days. Getting answers as to when issues will be handled from office staff has never been met with a professional definitive answer. Other problems are in regard to dealing with daily construction noise at 8am every single day, even weekends. Trash bins are not set up in locations, so trash is left everywhere near what will eventually be a bin location, but is not yet set up. Apartment home walls are very thin, which allows us to hear vivid detail of conversations as if they were in same room at times. The apartments are absolutely beautiful, but if you're looking for privacy or a quiet place to reside, personally its just not here. When construction is complete and a full staff is in place and amenities completed, perhaps the quality of living will live up to the apartment name "Dolce Living", but as of now, its absolutely not.
People don't typically take time to write a review unless they are upset and something is wrong. This being the case I thought I would give my opinion at this point. I have been living at this complex for nearly 5 days and working with the staff for almost 2 mo. while waiting for the building to be completed. Since my arrival the managers office doors have always been opened when I wonder into the club house. The primary leasing agent is almost also at her desk when she is not touring around the complex. I had two small issues on first move in and a maintenance request was submitted within 1 hr. by the leasing agent I have been working with. A maintenance person was in and out of my apartment within 3 hrs. of the request. While the work was not completed I cannot hold the entire staff/complex at fault. The grounds are so far well maintained and the dumpsters have not been over flowing on each of my visits to them. I felt very safe walking to the grounds after dark and have never been treated rudely by the staff or any other residents. Parking so far has been great however this could be tougher as the complex fills. All in all I am very please I made the choice at this time and look forward to many months here. There is still some construction (the contractors have made whistles at female residents in the pool) and the cabana furniture is still not in (nor the pool table) however it will come with time. I hope to be able to leave the same kind of great comments and review after my first 3 months of life at this complex.
I just moved in here a month ago! It's horrible! You only get one or two week "construction" concession depending on the lenght of your lease. Pool is not ready yet, fitness center only availalbe during office hours. They are building the complext too quickly and they don't care to come back and fix the things that are wrong in your apt once you move it. There is not enough parking, that trash dumpster is always full. I have yet to meet the manager or the assistant manager. They are in their offices with closed doors to scared to come out and say hello. This can be a nice complex, but not yet. Wait 6-9 months before you decide to check this complex out
Property Manager at The Cape at Grand Harbor, Responded To This Review
I'd suggest it to my older friends because they would love it. It's not really good for those who are in their twenties or like to be in the "happening spot." Then again, who really wants those tenants. They're loud and don't pay rent on time Ha!
