Property Ratings at The Carriage Homes at Wyndham
Beware and be warned. You might as well be living with no walls in-between you and your neighbors. If you are unfortunate to have loud neighbors, be prepared to listen to every noise they make. Screaming, yelling, banging and thumping. No disregard or respect for the other people that pay rent and have to call this place home too. Don't let this niceness of this apartment fool you, living here will only make you miserable. It's not like it was advertised to be quiet and private; How can it be? When your woken up in the middle of the night because your neighbors snores or when your neighbor is having a fight and decides to punch things. This apartment isn't for the light hearted. If it isn't enough that you are miserable because you can't seem to get any privacy or peace at all from your neighbors, you go to pull out of your driveway and almost get hit by a car. Yep, be aware that no one does the speed limit and shockingly no one in this complex is polite. Everyone is too busy in their own world. I am glad they had money to renovate the club house and put a fresh coat of paint on the buildings, but not actually fix the things that are needed. Like properly replacing stoves, washers or dryers when needed. P.S. the paint job that they needed to come back and fix, still looks like a toddler smeared paint on my door. Not to mention that we were told to leave the doors open, someone from management would be watching until the door was dried. NOPE, my door was left open until I got home. Way to protect my security. So you think you still want to be lured in by the Wyndham name? Well when your halfway through your lease and you just can't take it no more, be prepared to pay $3000 to break the lease. This is the worst apartment that I have ever lived in. I have moved around and lived in many apartments for over 10 years, and this by far is the most miserable place ever.
I love living here! I live in a 1bedroom home and it is the perfect amount of space. Yes, I can hear my neighbors above me, but lets be realistic - they are allowed to walk/live in their homes. The maintenance staff is amazing! I will put in a service ticket and within a couple of ours they are there to fix the issue! The office staff is great as well, they are always wanting to go above and beyond. Melissa helped make my move go smoothly and really helped me through the entire process. I would definitely recommend this community to anyone and everyone!
This used to be a good to great place to live however, if you happen to get a one bedroom and you happen to have or get loud neighbors above you.....your life will be miserable. People on the 2nd floor have no consideration for those underneath of them. The property "say" that they if you complain, they send out letters to those who is making the noise but I don't know if that it is true because the noise and the loud thumping continues. It's really ridiculous and it seems they don't care other than getting your rent money every month. So NO, I don't recommend this place for those who wants to live in a one bedroom. Your best best is getting a 2 or 3 bedroom apt.
I loved this property - 3 years ago. Since then it's been in steady decline. Grassy areas are now mostly dirt/mud with dog poo everywhere. Cars with dead tags double parked in common areas are left to sit for 8 months. The pool isn't emptied after the summer season, leaving it stagnant with algae and ick from Sept-May. Cars careen through the neighborhood at high speeds despite the fact there are kids playing and pedestrians walking their dogs (to which the leasing office replied that kids shouldn't be playing outside? They'd like them to stay in the "common areas" The muddy ones with all the dog poo, discarded muddy garments, and cigarette butts, I'm assuming that means? Not sure what they'd like the adult pedestrians like myself to do, since I've nearly been hit more than once.) One trash compactor we pay nearly $30/month for that is a disaster area of trash and furniture on a weekly basis. The maintenance staff is slow to respond and rarely does a thorough job. Astronomical rent increases you have to fight every year. The latest property manager is all talk with a lot of promises but no follow-through. The community is in steady decline and yet she's proudly talking about redecorating her leasing office and getting new pool furniture. Please don't be fooled by the name Wyndam they're leveraging - this property is not a part of the community association or subject to its standards. It makes me sad since, again, there was a time I truly loved this neighborhood. Can't imagine staying longer than I have to, at this point.
I was a resident for four years and recently ended my lease. Each and every year I renewed was a fight with rental increases which would always start out as laughable....finally had enough this last time. Received a notice my one bedroom unit rental rate would increase to $1,025... However, if I renew today they would deduct $25. What a deal! The same exact units were being advertised for almost a $100 less! Wow, a company that cares about its renters! Also, if you decide to move in document everything. When I moved to a one bedroom unit two years ago, I found a small crack in the bathroom vanity and called to report it. It was never fixed but that was okay, it was a small crack. Now, UDR Corporate charges me $267 for a replacement top. After trying to have a conversation, I gave up stated a few choice four letter words and hung up. Back to the complex, the community trash receptable will overflow and look like a trash dump.....if you are in a one bedroom, you will hear every creak, moan, dog barking, conversation of your neighbors to the left, right, and above you.....you will begin to experience crawling bugs, I did have my apartment treated, but they still emerge from the hiding places. Wait, there is more.....be willing to support your neighbors in the monthly payment of the community water bills! And like the idea of paying A $5 fee for the apartment complex to so graciously provide you a community water bill. While I believe all apartment complexes have some issues, any UDR apartment complex is just not going to be worth your effort and hassle.....check out UDR on the web and see for yourself...
This place has been wonderful for myself, my husband, and our two year old daughter. There are plenty of play grounds around, people are friendly, and it is a safe neighborhood for the kids to play.
Overall, and not considering the money, the apartment is okay-goodish. The actual apartment itself is pretty nice inside. The kitchen and design is pretty modern and living room is nice. Beyond the looks however, everything is downhill. Let's start with the trash disposal. Depending on where you live, dumpster is either near by, or a 10 minute walk. And most of the time the machine is either full, doesn't work, or disgusting or all of the above. Apt. Comes with a pool, gym, and "club house" which is really just their front office. Gym is small and is great for people who doesn't know how to work out, but otherwise you might be better off going to to an actual gym. Pool is sometimes really crowed and is rarely cleaned. There's always leaves or some form of dirtiness I'm there. They have free computer for use which is actually pretty nice. The worst thing, however, is their maintenance service. After reporting something, it either takes weeks or never gets fixed, unless you have the time to continually remind them about it. Overall, it's not bad if you don't care too much about the commodities, and only about the apt. Even then, I'm in a two bed room, and it's 1600 a month, so I don't think think it's worth the money. Maybe if it was around a thousand, this place would be great.
This complex had been exactly as it was advertised. The office staff is extremely friendly and helpful, maintenance is quick to respond and the upkeep on the complex is great. There is plenty of play grounds in the area and on the complex for my 2 year old daughter to play, and the pool and grill area is beautiful. I would recommend this complex to anyone looking for a high end apartment/townhouse.
This is a great area to live in and the complex offers quite a bit. It would be nice if they did more things at the clubhouse, but they do have a fitness center, business center, pool table, nice pool, grills and tvs for us to use. They do a good job clearing the snow. There are tons of kids that live here and it is right across the street from an elementary school.
