Property Ratings at The Carter on the Park
Horrible experience here with the management both condescending and lacking in urgency when it comes to getting anything done. Takes days to get a response from anyone in the front office and when you do they are unwilling to work with to solve the issue at hand.
Management has no sense of urgency when it comes to anything important. On top of that, within our two years of renting here they went through 3 leasing team changes, each seemingly worst than the last. Which brings me to the current team - who completely ruined our wonderful stay here at the Carter with their ineptitude and lack of care when it came to keeping our residency as we wanted to resign and they made no effort to keep us. In fact it took them three emails and over 4 days to get a reply into our inquiry about resigning. On another note, They also rented the same apartment above us at a cheaper rental rate (newer tenants) than offered to us in any of our renewals. The property manager also condescendingly and rudely remarked about our potential new property as well just based on its age, extremely unprofessional. They truly do not care if you are a great tenant and do very minimal in terms of trying to keep you in the community besides raising rent when nothing is changing and the building is only getting older. Please look elsewhere in Redmond with all the new buildings and apartments coming out, you’ll be able to find not only a more competitive rate but also a friendly and more engaging office staff. One of the only positives about this leasing team is the maintenance staff.
I had short notice for a job promotion and admittedly I wasn't able to research as good as I would want to so I want to share this review for someone who is maybe out of state and can't go visit first. 1. Apparently it is "common" for floor plans in Washington to have all concrete flooring. Sure, you can buy some throw rugs but if that is new to you it is very cold and really makes the apartment feel incomplete. Throw in the 0 cabinets and you just have walls and concrete and that's it. Not the "premium" feel I was expecting. In fact, with the "energy saving lights" I felt like I was in a dog pound or the basement of a dive bar. Add in one window facing the next apartment building it was just over dark and gloomy and depressing little apartment. 2. My apartment was right above the parking garage, and it was faulty which caused it to go up and down constantly. For the 1 week I stayed I struggled sleeping with the noise from the garage. Mix in the noise of the city (this I knew about beforehand but just sharing for those who aren't thinking about that) and it was just loud all the time. 3. 0 service (had both ATT and Verizon phones) which meant I had to leave my apartment to make a call. 4. The office. I don't like putting down people as I get that it is their job to make sure that they don't say anything that could get them in trouble. That said, there was 2 people who worked there. One was new and I swear 4 different times I requested something (I need my mailbox key, what's the pin for the letting people in, parking spot etc.) she insisted she didn't know the answer and would get back to me. She never did I had to walk down and legit catch the other person working to get help. The main person seemed to just act confused as to why I didn't like the apartment and really couldn't be bothered with me. I never received a tour of my apartment or the amenities on arrival. Also, I had one interaction with their Maintenace guy and man is he creepy. I would not feel comfortable leaving a young lady in the apartment alone with him Overall, I tried one last plea to see if maybe I could at least switch apartments and she said, "I'll have to call and figure out what we can do". I really was just so fed up and tired of it all that I decided to break the lease. I asked if they could do anything but instead, I was left paying over 6000 dollars. Really the worse experience I have ever had with apartments.

Dear Kyle, Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback. We try hard to provide customers with the best support possible and apologize that this wasn't your experience. We shared pictures of the exact apartment home you selected weeks prior to your move-in, and we offer virtual tours to facilitate out-of-state prospective residents. We apologize for not meeting your expectations. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us for further feedback. Thank you, Alma Hernandez| Property Manager. pm.thecarter@avenue5apt.com or 1 425-463-6386
I've been a renter for 13 years, and have never had an experience this bad. Had to call multiple times to get a tour scheduled. Travelled 45mins to get there, and there's no one in the office. In the afternoon! No answer on any follow-up phone calls, and no one showed up even after waiting for an hour. Had a chance to speak to some residents who were also waiting for someone, since no one was answering maintenance phone calls either. Their advice... apts are nice, but experience with management is so poor it's not worth it. First time I've ever felt annoyed enough to write a review about anything, and that includes Comcast and AT&T customer support.

quiet, nice living space, no overly noisy neighbors, grocery store is a approximately 5 minute walk away, shopping mall is fairly close by. Overall an excellent atmosphere. Personally I would say great place if you want a quiet life or plan to raise/have kids, pretty nice city, and various restaurants nearby if you want anything "special." 10 out 10 review from me.

Hello, thank you for leaving us a review! We value all our resident feedback and are always making changes and adapting based on it. For any further information, please reach out to hello@avenue5.com
My husband and I moved from NC back in October 2020. We picked The Carter mostly because of the proximity to the downtown Redmond, grocery (Trader Joes, Kroger) and shopping (Redmond Town Center), but also the level of facilities and the ok pricing in comparison to all the other apartment buildings. To be honest, getting anyone on the phone for the weeks leading up to our move was a struggle that only added to a stress of moving across the country. I am still not quite sure why this happened, given that since we moved in everyone was absolutely delightful and very helpful! There were some issues with billing for the first few months, but nothing major and fixable on the spot once I came down to chat with them. I absolutely love our apartment and the little park that our window goes out to - perfect spot for our dogs to go and run around. We were not able to use most of the facilities due to the COVID restrictions, but everything looks beautiful and hopefully later in the year all of the facilities will open back up. Also, it may be the way out apartment is positioned, but we NEVER hear any neighbors. So they are either really quiet, or the walls are properly thick and isolate the sound well. The real star of the whole apartment building is the maintenance - instant response (less than 24 hours in my experience) and a great company! My dogs are absolutely obsessed with him and I wouldn't be surprised if they would start breaking things just to see Dan haha. Although started a little rocky for us, I am glad that we picked the Carter and am happy to give it 5 stars.

The team is responsive and attentive to any request we have put in. Despite the current pandemic, the maintenance team and office is still available and attentive. Dan and the new Maintenance Manager are great. The location of this property is wonderful. Close to our favorite stores and parks. We highly enjoy living here.

Hi, we are so happy to read such a great review about The Carter on the Park! We're glad to hear we delivered such a great experience. If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help!
The Carter on the Park is a very nice apartment complex with modern amenities. We love the location as it is at the heart of downtown Redmond. Very convenient, walking distance to everything you need (supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops and retails). The Sammamish River trail is only minutes away. The staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. The property and the facility is well maintained. Common areas are tidy and clean. Dan the maintenance man is awesome. He knows this facility inside out. He is very friendly and gets his work done right and fast. I would highly recommend this apartment complex for modern living and friendly neighbors. In my time living at The Carter (4 months, but my partner has been here several years) I have always felt safe and comfortable. The apartments are nice and well-maintained. The leasing office staff is helpful and friendly. The maintenance staff is responsive and helpful as well. The grounds are very pretty with lots of walking trails around (walking distance to Marymoor Park!) and easy access to downtown Redmond. I’d highly recommend!

Hi, we're happy you found our staff to be so supportive during your experience here at The Carter on the Park. Our team strives to deliver an excellent experience, and are glad you found this to be the case during your visit. If you have further needs or questions, please reach out!
The support staff, the apartments, and the location is great. No doubt. However, you will live (as of Aug. 2019) live right next to at least two big apartment building blocks that are under construction 24x7 (even the weekends noise is unbearable unless you hermetically seal your apartment). Two big constructions sites. Visit during the weekdays to assess it for yourself. Multiple residents are moving out because the management: 1. Will ask you for extra $ to move you a quieter apartment 2. Display zero empathy even if you have: toddlers, elderly, and health issues. This place is a huge disappointment. There are other viable options without the noise and with zero downgrade for quality of life. Look elsewhere. Stay away from here.

Well decorated very new apartment complex. Staff is always onsite and everyone is super friendly. Units are spacious and have modern appliances. Great unit layouts. Outdoor courtyard and Upstairs balcony area are fantastic during the Summer. Great community events.

People are friendly and the building is modern. The free coffee bar in the lobby is convenient. You can go to the town center by foot in 10 minutes. There are Trader Joe's and QFC close to the apartment. However, the road where you go into or get out of the parking garage is narrow, so you have to watch out if any cars are coming.

I am so happy with my decision to move into The Carter Apartments. My place is perfect for my needs and the finishes are better than I could have expected in most apartments. The dog friendly nature of the building along with the amenities offered have made this transition from a house to an apartment very easy. The location is fantastic and has good walkability to most of Redmond. And to top it off the staff goes above an beyond anywhere else I have lived.

We appreciate your positive review about your recent experience with us!
We moved to the Carter in February! We had an amazing experience so far. The building was built with artist edge, the common spaces are wonderful and we love the trails around the building. We bike ride every evening with our son. The building is very kid friendly and dog friendly. The staff really has made it the best experience overall they have down to earth energy, always helpful and they host lots fun social events. This building has helped me feel more connected to Redmond community!

I've been here for about three weeks and so far everything has been great! Move in was smooth, and they even let me have my bed delivered a few days in advance to my apartment. The maintenance guys are prompt and polite with what few small issues I had. So far I've heard almost no noise from the people around me. Would highly recommend!

Hi, we are so happy to read such a great review about The Carter on the Park! Thanks for sharing with us, and let us know if there is anything else we can do to improve your experience! :)
Pros: nice new place with amenities (fire pit, gym, common areas to hang out with friends, high tech coffee maker). New stainless appliances, quartz counters, hardwood floors throughout apartment. Overhead lights in the room Cons: no overhead cabinets in kitchen so little room for storage, improper overhead coverage on deck when raining(water goes through deck). Expensive (like all of Seattle these days Overall: nice place if you can afford it

I have lived at the Carter for nearly a year and it has been a good experience. I love that the building is energy efficient so my electric bill is low. There are many fun things to do close by and when I want to stay home, there are many places to go in the building. The management plans resident events so many neighbors know one another. The Carter is a great place to call home.

I've lived here for a little over a month now and I LOVE this place! The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. I have an 80lb Alaskan Malamute and this is one of the very few apartments that will allow large dogs and that breed. I also love that they have a 24/7 package pick-up room. No more having to stay late for the leasing office to open or leave work early to get your package before the leasing office closes! It's also walking distance to Redmond Town Center, Downtown Redmond, Marymoor Park, etc. I literally just walk everywhere these days cause it's so convenient! Lots of biking trails too. My nieces and nephews when visiting believes that I am staying in an expense hotel with all of the amenities available. Everything is kept really clean. In fact, they have a cleaning person there every morning to (that I always say hi to each morning when I leave for work) who basically comes in early and starts cleaning the lobby, elevators, hallways, glasses, counters, etc. EVERY morning!
