Property Ratings at The Cavanagh 55+ Apartments
I am a current resident at Cavanaugh apartments. I have lived here for roughly 4 years, and the price has continued to increase every 3-4 months. It it more expensive to live here than it is a condo in downtown Minneapolis. On top of that, they have the worst management I have ever seen. The contractor/handyman in charge of fixing up issues with the apartment never shows up even after speaking with the office many times, and when/if he does he absolutely does nothing. It's always "Oh, it's supposed to be like that." Oh so my fan is supposed to not work and make a loud clicking noise until I flip the switch 4-5 times? My car was also towed from the parking lot because they were plowing, without any notice or warning at all. Then I call the towing company just to find out I now have to pay $295 to get my car back and it hasn't even been an hour since it was towed. I spoke to the office prior to this, asking them to contact me if they decide to plow as I need to contact my roommate and have them move my car since I am at work during the day and can't walk back to my apartment to move it. They never contacted me, even after agreeing to do so. They are greedy, dishonest, and do not care about any of their residents. Be wary of this apartment complex. If I could give these apartments zero stars, I would, but unfortunately I need to give them at least one which is extremely generous.
After going through a very difficult year and needing to move, I found the Cavanagh. I liked their website and decided to give them a try. The application process was easy. I was able to move in August first and have to say it has been the best move for me. The apartments have many amenities and has a friendly staff. I love my apartment and have no thoughts of ever moving again. It eases my family's mind that I have found a great place to live.
