Property Ratings at The Cedars
2 years ago I would've given this place 4 - 5 stars when Brian was the property manager. Once management changed, it pretty much started a slow roll downhill. We have seen management change at least 3 different times and we have not had anyone close to as good as the first one. Me and my roommate were at this property for 4 years and had no problems until this year. First annoyance was with the extended outage of the call box, which was down for several weeks before we got any acknowledgement of this inconvenience. Second irritation was the moveout experience, apparently no one checks their email or keeps a record of it. Management was not aware that my roommate had already moved out two months prior and failed to acknowledge my moveout date until I happened to visit in-person as a reminder **one week before my moveout date**. Final straw was the lack of cooperation and compassion when my unit was broken into and trashed in my absence. (I had already migrated most of my stuff to new place, but had lingering items that were going up for donation) Avoid this property, you will not be acknowledged and your emails and calls will be ignored.
These apartments are very comfortable and cozy with some modern upgrades and some outdated downfalls. The lobby, elevator and hall ways could use a face lift. It's a little grey looking. Carpets need replaced, they appear a bit dull and dirty. The paint is dull and outdated. The elevators are a bit old and slow working. Once inside the elevators it's almost the feeling of being in rundown inner city New York apartment building like what you see on episodes of Sienfield. The Concier could use an upgrade in personality. But the View makes it all better.
