Steeped in history and unique culture, Baltimore is among America’s most culturally-rich cities. Centuries spent as a major port city have contributed to a diverse mix of influences, resulting in the eclectic range of food and art found in Baltimore today. The relatively compact layout of the city makes life a bit easier for pedestrians and cyclists — it also means that, even though the city is home to over 600,000 people, it retains the feel of a much smaller community. The city’s neighborhoods display a huge degree of variety, ranging from rowhouses to high-rise apartments to charming suburban subdivisions.
It’s an excellent city for sports fans, with the Orioles and the Ravens representing Baltimore in the big leagues. The arts community is quite active in Baltimore as well, largely thanks to the Maryland Institute College of Art and the huge Artscape festival that draws thousands every May.

Property Ratings at 8 Howard and The 305
First off - this property is in a great location if you are working at UMMC or UMB. There is a ton of things to do within walking distance. The Eutaw street building has beautiful apartments with high ceilings. The other buildings are pretty regular apartments. The price is lower than other comparable buildings in the area, so that's a plus. The downside of this property is that the property is falling apart. One of the buildings went without an elevator for over two months. The Tower building has had water shut off thirteen times in the past year and a half. One of my neighbors didn't have a working shower for over two weeks and the property manager wouldn't even respond to her. The maintenance department cannot stay fully staffed, so repairs are slow. I'm not a super picky tenant, but I moved out over these maintenance issues. If the management was better, this property could be great.
Been living here for almost a year now and don’t have any complaints. There is only a ten minute walk to the inner harbor and other surrounding night life. The commute is definitely made easy due to the amount of public transportation. Also, living downtown is a hotspot for uber and lyft. As far as the staff goes they are great. Maintenance is fast acting and diligent. I have only had minor issues and maintenance only needs to come once and problem solved. Most of my encounters have been with the assistant property manager Shelly, she is a delightful and welcoming property manager. If you have any questions, complaints or concerns she is your go to.
The management office really does an awesome when maintenance is needed I get my issue worked on the same evening and the management office is really hands on and very helpful thank you to ms sherry and all the other staff members who work hard to make this building wonderful
The only good thing about this apartment place is one of the workers and y’all ceilings that’s it
Lived here for a year and there has been so much turnover in staff. The new assistant manager is really nice and the new staff is friendly. You cannot beat garage parking, 10 walk to downtime, and the powerplant is the party place for me. I live on the 11th floor my sunrise and sunset views are beautiful.
had to move out because the mice and cockroaches were so bad
I’ve been a resident here for a couple of years, and I have to say that the convenience and cost are the only really positive aspects of this complex. I was a resident under the previous management and unfortunately, the new management is not an improvement. The touring process is when you will receive the most attention and positive attitudes. As a resident, maintenance issues are typically resolved in a timely manner, but the office staff is disorganized, often missing urgent email communications and misplacing forms and keys, and courtesy in brief in-person interactions is a stark contrast to curt, sometimes dismissive emails. I do enjoy living here as there have been recent improvements to security and mail (a Luxer One package system managed by Ms. Mia who is one of the most pleasant people in this city), but the safety issues encountered by living in close proximity to Lexington Market and Howard St in addition to poor communication and accountability to current residents make this a less than ideal complex to live in unless you are a student looking for a convenient living space.
Most of the staff you meet when you move in won't be working there anymore within a few months, sometimes between the time you first visit and when you move in. Management makes it very hard to contact them, especially if there are problems, which there inevitably are, which they inevitably address in the cheapest way possible. Most the facilities are sub par compared with other apartment communities in the area. Cannot recommend.
I lived here for 4 years and while not everything was great(the area) it was a whole lot better then what I moved to. Hence the I miss this place title. I lived in a huge apartment with super spacious walk- in closets and a washer dryer in unit. They had great amenities like the gym, the luxor locker package systems and the concierge Mia who always tried to make living here fun by throwing different themed parties or organizing breakfast or lunch for the community. The maintenance staff responded to any work orders I had( which weren't much) within 24-48 hours and the property manager Austin was always very responsive, professional and respectful of his tenants. I could talk/joke with Austin( everybody in the office really) like he was one of the family and that was what made living here such a nice experience for 4 years, I immediately felt at home every time I stepped through the door and that is why I miss them so much. If you are looking for a place to live and you work in the area, check this place out.
Beware of this place!!! I would not move here if I could make the decision again. I have complained to management that their are drywood termites in my house. Disgusting!!! Their are also mice and roaches. Shortly after moving in what looked like a clean apartment, I saw roaches. Management does not address rodent concerns appropriately so If you move in you will have to take pest control in to your own hands. I should have taken my money elsewhere. Don't let the pictures and clean apartments you tour or move in to right after they clean them fool you. I can not wait for my lease to be up.
Property Manager at 8 Howard and The 305, Responded To This Review
Hi Valued Resident, I am very sorry to hear that you are experiencing rodent and pest issues while residing with us. My name is William and I am one of the newest members of the Management Team here at The Centerpoint. I would love to meet with you in regard to these concerns and put into place an affirmative solution to remedy the problem as expeditiously as possible. I can not speak as to why this matter has not been resolved before now and I am very sorry that it has been neglected for so long. Nonetheless, I would be more than happy to resolve it now so that ultimately we can regain your trust while we honor our commitment to you as a valued resident of The Centerpoint in serving you. I can be reached at info@thecenterpointapts.com. Thank you for your review and, most importantly, thank you for being the best part of The Centerpoint. Sincerely, A Member of Management

Property Manager at 8 Howard and The 305, Responded To This Review
Hi Valued Resident, Thank you for your review and for deciding to call The Centerpoint home. We are more than glad to know you are completely satisfied with where you live and the resourcefulness of the Management Team. If there is ever anything we can do to make "home" feel more enjoyable, please do not hesitate to come into the Management Office and let us know. Again, thank you for your review and, most importantly, thank you for being the best part of The Centerpoint. Sincerely, A Member of Management
The staff was unorganized and inconsistent. I was given 3 different move-in dates by three different members of the staff. The holding fee used to reserved the apartment was inappropriately applied to a separate apartment's account, and when first questioned on the whereabouts of the check provided, the staff was not able to provide me an answer. The apartment I rented was not available for a walk-thru, so I was shown a model apartment. I was told that the apartment I would be renting had a balcony. On move-in day, I found that it did not. The apartment was not clean and some fixtures were unsatisfactory (i.e. Oven was not leveled and garbage disposal was clogged). Additionally, I was promised a move-in special that was not delivered for reasons later explained that I did not qualify for. Even after the inconsistency, miscommunication, and uncooperative nature of the staff, I was not rectified with the move-in special once promised. Additionally, the apartment's corporate office representative proved to be unaccommodating. After reaching out for clarity concerning the apartment's move-in procedure, I was redirected to the same individuals that have given me inconsistent, conflicting information. Lastly, when awaiting confirmation from the corporate representative to approve the aforementioned move-in special, I was kept on stand-by for weeks because the representative did not show up to the property or return her staff's emails concerning the issue. Overall, the Centerpoint is unorganized and makes the already stressful process of moving more difficult. I would not recommend that anyone looking for a place to rent to consider the Centerpoint. There are more affordable apartment complexes in the area that are better suited with the staff and resources to make the moving process less hectic.
I lived here for 3 years. As the other reviews stated, its location is the best; close to students and residents who go to the University of Maryland-Baltimore/Medical Center. The Centerpoint takes a whole street block; some apartments face Fayette St., Eutaw St., Baltimore St., Howard St., or the parking garage. It's noisy all the time as this complex is close to the fire station (fire trucks), university medical center (ambulance cars), and the scary Lexington Market (which attracts all the drug dealers, homeless, and criminals...i.e. police cars)!!!. Management staff are nice and helpful (sometimes). The rent is affordable (try to negotiate if they increase it). Also, ask for free carpet cleaning if you're renewing your lease for the 2nd year. The management plans monthly activities and occasional free lunch or breakfast. They have more 2-bedroom apartments available than 1-bedroom, so having a roommate (and referring someone to this complex) will benefit you financially. Community room faces nothing because it's located underground but it's a wide space. The complex isn't smoking-free (including cigarette and Marijuana) and the staff can't do anything about it!!! All in all, live in this complex if you have to be close to school...but get ear plugs.
The Centerpoints are located just a five minute walk from the convention center and 8 minute walk from the harbor. The rooms are well maintained and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The parking is convenient. It holds a small workout gym and a wide recreational area. Each month the staffs like to throw trivia party, local food tasting parties or even paint and wine events. If you have a bicycle, I strongly urge you to not park the bike the garage. The security staff is friendly and will help you out whenever they can. It is also located just a couple blocks away from the University of Maryland Medical Center. For its perks and amenities, it is worth the rent.
Let me first start of by saying I love living at Centerpoint Apartments. I have been here since 2014 and I recently signed a new lease for another year. From the moment I moved in I've loved how attentive the leasing office has been. The amenities that are offered are far superior then most of the other apartments in the Inner Harbor. If you ever have issues with the apartment, maintence is there within a timely manner. The location is within walking distance of anything you wanna do. The only negative was the riots and looting that happened in that area but that isn't the fault of the apartment which is why they still deserve 5 stars!! Moving to the Centerpoint you won't be disappointed!
The Centerpoint is a great place to live if you like living the city life. The staff are very helpful, and the building itself is clean, safe and well maintained. Being in the downtown area, I have never had any safety concerns, and there is 24 hour security on-site. I love being only 2 blocks from Camden yard, 1 mile from the Inner Harbor, and right across the street from Hippodrome Theater. This makes it the perfect place if you have friends and family visit from out of town. You're in the middle of everything! If I did not have to move out of town for school, I would definitely stay another year.
The location of this building is ideal for someone who needs access to anywhere in Baltimore (the transportation choices are endless) and it is 10 minutes from the center of the city, The Inner Harbor. The amenities are useful but there could be more offered, to align with the cost; however they are the cheapest in the area. The staff is extremely professional and proactive. They host monthly events, on and off-site. I love the Centerpoint!
The Centerpoint apartments is located in the heart of the Downtown. You can find anything you want in this neighborhood. I have only one complain about the apartment which is noise. The central air ventilation system is making too much noise.
Living here has been a great experience so far! The staff at The Centerpoint is very friendly and helpful.
This apartment building is conveniently located to University of Maryland Baltimore campus. Maintenance responded quickly to requests and left notes describing the work they completed if you were not present when service was completed. Area is noisy due to nearby hospital and traffic from the streets. Walls are thin so you will hear everything if you have noisy neighbors. The gym needs updating. The common area and fire pit/grill area are nice. Office staff is terrible and not helpful and will create bogus charges when you move out. Concierge is super nice and friendly and knows everyone's name.
These apartments are extraordinary! Beautiful view of Baltimore. Close to everything. Wouldn't recommend for a family with small children though. Great amenities. Spacious.
