New York City’s Upper West Side is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Manhattan. While landmarks like the Metropolitan Opera, the Lincoln Center, and the American Museum of Natural History lend a distinctly highbrow air to the landscape, the overall community environment favors down-to-earth personalities and accessible neighborhood amenities.
So what’s it like to live in the Upper West Side, and what exactly is this neighborhood known for? The local dining scene is superb, featuring a vast landscape of restaurants representing every style and flavor imaginable, most of which are affordable enough to become regular stops. Grocers and retail stores are close at hand, and everywhere in the Upper West Side is within walking distance of Central Park— those living near the eastern edge of the neighborhood can enjoy gorgeous views of the sun rising over the park every morning.

Property Ratings at The Central Park House
As a recent Columbia graduate, living at Central Park Manhattan House has been a breath of fresh air. I love that I can still enjoy the academic energy of the Upper West Side while being so close to Central Park for outdoor study sessions. The washer/dryer and private bathroom are luxuries I never had during undergrad!
I enjoyed my stay with Outpost Club. The apartment was well-kept and in a great neighborhood. The move-in process was straightforward, and the customer service team was always responsive to any issues.
The location is unbeatable, with Central Park just a few blocks away and a host of great local spots nearby. The apartment is comfortable and well-maintained, and having easy access to popular attractions like the Museum of Natural History and Barney Greengrass adds a lot of value. It’s a top-notch place for anyone who wants to be close to the park and enjoy the UWS.
My stay at the Central Park Manhattan House has been fantastic. The location is ideal for anyone who loves being near Central Park, and having so many attractions within walking distance is a huge advantage. The apartment itself is comfortable, and the proximity to famous spots like Absolute Bagels and the Museum of Natural History is a real bonus. My only critique is that the building’s amenities are a bit dated, but overall, it’s a great place to stay in NYC.
