How can the unit not be ready on the DAY of the contracted move-in date when I was asked to sign the lease agreement THE DAY BEFORE THE MOVE IN DATE?? I was told that I could move in at 10am and when we got there, they said the unit isn't fully ready and we would be able to move in by 2pm. Then, after I reached out and called them 10 times before someone picked up, we were told to wait until 5pm. Again, nobody at the Chadwick is reaching out to me to give me an update. I am the one who is calling and asking for updates. At 5pm, we were told we couldn't move in on our agreed-upon contracted date and I was told that I could move in 5-6 days. Is this a joke? (Please take a look at the photos as this was the terrible state of the apartment unit). My experience with The Chadwick Apartments has been NOTHING short of a disaster. From the very beginning, the management has displayed a complete lack of professionalism and responsibility. We applied for a unit in late July 2024, and despite receiving approval in mid-August, the communication from the leasing office was inconsistent and unreliable. The staff, specifically Katherine Westfal repeatedly assured us that our move-in date would be on September 1st, which we planned our entire relocation around. However, when the day arrived, we were told—after hiring movers and coordinating utilities—that the apartment wasn’t ready. This information was given to us last minute, forcing us to scramble, cancel our plans, and absorb extra costs due to their incompetence. On top of that, Katherine has the audacity to be disgustingly rude to my family and me when she was in the wrong. The communication from The Chadwick has been appalling. Promises were made and broken time and time again, with no proactive effort from the staff to keep us updated. We had to constantly chase them down for information, only to receive conflicting answers and excuses. The whole process was characterized by mismanagement and a lack of transparency. Even after their assurances, we were later informed that the unit would take an additional two to three weeks to be completed. In the end, they couldn't even provide a move-in date because there was a pest infestation in the unit. Why was this not taken care of before the move-in date? Also, my family saw a gigantic cockroach at the apartment complex so it seems they have a huge bug problem. Disgusting.

I moved into this building on July 15th and regret not conducting thorough research beforehand; had I done so, I wouldn’t have chosen to live here. Since my arrival, I’ve experienced frequent package thefts, which raises the question of why there are cameras in the mailroom if no action is being taken. When I moved in I had submitted work orders regarding my plumbing, It’s October and still no one came to fix it. Additionally, the building is dealing with a significant roach infestation. I encounter roaches daily, whether in my unit, the laundry rooms, or the hallways. Recently, I even saw someone moving out with their belongings covered in roaches. -Save yourself the headache.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME DO NOT MOVE HERE. I have lived here for a year and had about 2 good months MAYBE. Everything is broken from the gate to the parking lot, the washing machine and dryers, the gym equipment and “secure” mail room. I have had laundry stolen, packages stolen, guest parking in my paid spot and all of this with no extra repercussion. Management does not care about their tenants all they want is their rent. This is a bottom of the barrel apartment complex which is why is is cheap for LA standards buy trust me you get what you pay for. The amenities are just to pull you in; the weight room sucks and is always something broken, tenants don’t pick up their dog poop in the soccer/turf area, the pool is rarely blue more of a green-ish color, the grills are dirty from parties and nothing is done about it. There is a homeless encampment that takes up half of the street that no one does anything about and growing very rapidly. Bugs and insects are all the the halls and creep their way inside of the apartments no matter how good or clean you are. The community manager is NEVER available at all and does not answer emails and has no personal line it just takes you to the leasing office. This is my first apartment and I wish I never ever would have found this place it makes living in dorms look like the Ritz- Carlton. I cannot stress enough do not move here unless you are happy losing your values and sanity there are better options all over and wish someone would have warned me.

I went here as an interested applicant and walked out thinking I was pranked, but unfortunately I wasn't . The privileged guy that gave me the tour, saw dead roaches in the unit he walked me into and was completely unfazed, in fact, he seemingly got offended when I pointed them out the in living area, when I pointed out another dead one in the bathtub and others almost every 5 -6 steps I took. I asked about this problem and he said they have exterminators coming regularly. I asked "How's that going"? He was silent. Obviously it's not going well if the building has a massive infestation problem. This seems to be the acceptable norm here at the Chadwick. If paying a lot of money for a roach infested apartment this is the place for you. Not to mention the strong smell of DOG URINE that is throughout the facility, apparently the residents are allowed to let their animals urinate wherever they please. Sad I wasted my time to experience this.

Management is incompetent and unprofessional. Please believe all of the bad reviews for this complex. Management is aware of these issues and refuses to fix them. They do not communicate with residents and do not respond to emails. The complex is far from a luxury apartment complex. Do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else.

Maintenance has not fixed broken gym equipment for over a year at this point. They will kick you out of your paid parking spot with little or no notice and have your car towed at your expense (about $300). The place is old and very poorly and cheaply "renovated". Rent prices have gone up with no justification for it considering this place has somehow managed to get worse since I've lived here. Would definitely recommend looking elsewhere.

The worse apartment complex I’ve lived at in my life. More like catfish apartments. No where near worth the rent. Roach infested, elevators are constantly broke, washers/dryers are never working. Disgusting apartment complex and I’m just counting the days until my lease is up. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worse enemy.

Leasing agents/team made the application process seamless. Community is okay and amenities are too, but the buildings can definitely use some remodeling/renovations.

I haven't received a response to my maintenance request I placed 4 days ago. When called to report the delay they said paper work had been turned that the repairs were complete and they are not . Maintenance has not been in my unit . I'm highly disappointed!

Chadwick is best apartment place to live. It’s been a 7 years I live here with my childrens. What they love is the amenities. Mine is being near in all establishments. Peaceful we have securities day and night working anytime you can call if there is a problem. Support in the office when you needed. I think that’s all. Chow!

Been living here for over 6 years. The place is painted rust! The so-called luxury units are nothing but old apartments refurbished with cheap IKEA items. For the past two years things have been significantly deteriorating. The rent is way too high for the quality of the place and the quality of life due to ever increasing poorly vetted, unruly neighbors. Do yourself a favor and be willing to spend a little more somewhere else. DO NOT MOVE IN.

The security seems the main issue - since I moved in there were numerous break ins and now more recently the crime has increased. It seems ridiculous to me that a TV in The lobby and the laundry room have been stolen, I have even whitened two grown men literally fighting near the jacuzzi . I would honestly say this place has gone way down hill since greystar took over management.

Homeless people throughout the property in every public area and managements says it’s out of their responsibility. Mailings do not arrive because there isn’t enough space for all, and the little space there is managed like the rest of it. When you tour walk in the mail room, garage, laundry room and make note of it. Funny enough this isn’t even including maintenance issues with my unit itself. Just don’t do it.

I have lived in the Chadwick from 6/2021-6/2022. DO NOT LIVE HERE. First, they lose your documentation all the time. They lost my move-in inspection form and charged me over $1200 for normal wear and tear, a full paint job, and a full floor repair - even though I have a photocopy of my move in inspection form in my hands with photos of what the place looked like beforehand. They also lost my parking paperwork, and twice over a year, gave my parking spot to someone else causing significant problems (one person found my car in their "spot" and tried to tow it). Second, maintenance takes weeks to actually come by after putting in a request. Finally, a colleague of mine at work chose not to live here because of cockroaches that he found on google - I thought it'd be fine since my unit seemed clean, but I've been struggling with cockroaches for the entire year I was there. Do not be lured in by the amenities.. it's not worth it.

I recently applied with the application fee being $25 and then with the option of a holding fee to secure a certain floor plan. After confirming with the team and the application and paying $300 they then told me there is no floor plan that even exists like that??? After this I cancelled my application and they still took my holding deposit and haven’t answered any of my emails about it.

I called a day prior to scheduling a tour. Called the number listed on apartments.com and spent 10 minutes on the phone with a woman discussing my options. She scheduled me for a tour at noon the following day. I get to the leasing office and told they did not have me on the schedule. Woman gives all sorts of explanation for why this could be (impossible that I would have even been scheduled for a tour due to staffing issues, must’ve called the wrong number, she was working at the desk and didn’t remember speaking to me, etc) Her colleague walks back into the office. I immediately knew I spoke to her. She states that the number provided on apartments.com leads to third-party operators. I call this number and it leads directly to her line. Unfortunately, there’s nothing they can do to give me a tour due to staffing issues after their mistake. They don’t care about wasting your time, so I recommend anyone scheduling a tour to have them email a confirmation. Save yourself from falling off/getting erased from their list.

I loved here seven years. Rent was decent. Location served its purpose. But it just got worse and worse. People parking in my spot. Loud neighbors. Thin walls and stomping neighbors. They took out the carpet so you just hear every little step.
