Property Ratings at The Charles Bellingham
Management could care less about your complaints. Maintenance is a joke (and you PAY for it each month!). When we moved in, the place wasn't ready. They wanted us to move in the next day. We had a moving company - it cost us and extra $600 to wait around until is was somewhat ready. No microwave (took 2 months to get). Dishwasher leaked day 1. Water temperature is inconsistent, a 5 minute shower will take you from scalding hot to cold back to warm, to cool. Maintenance tried to blame me (???) Oddly, all of your "past maintenance requests" on the portal are gone. But they seem to forget you get an emailed copy of each one. The place is decent, although we're in a handicapped apartment (didn't ask for one), yet the sink height is higher than any I've ever seen! You have to go on your tippy toes to wash your face? The front office is a joke, they sent me a request about my subsidized housing - DON'T HAVE SUBSIDIZED HOUSING - we pay it all ourselves? Try to email them, they "never got it". Try to call - hardly ever answer and if they do - they don't want to help.
they must be paying people to leave positive reviews. absolutely not “luxury” apartments. terrible response time from management. and don’t bother trying to stop by the office when david or the other lady are having a bad day. they will be incredibly rude to their long time residents. i could honestly write a book with the problems here. avoid at all costs! you’re better off living in a dumpster, tbh.
Horrible place to live the managers should be brought to court for some of the conditions people are forced to live in.
I moved into the Charles Bellingham in 2018 and all was great we loved it. The complex felt like a luxury apartment complex until the management/owners changed in 2019. Everything has gone down hill after that. The gate broke and instead of fixing it they left it broken and it has been over 4 months since it broke. The new management is rude! The only good thing I have to say is that the maintenance people are kind and hard working but they’re understaffed and overworked. This is probably why management is rude because the office went from having 6 people to only 2 people. It’s definitely not worth the money you pay anymore. This is supposed to be a non smoking community but people are always smoking in their homes and outside the apartment buildings and there’s cigarette butts all over the complex. The trash is constantly breaking and smells disgusting 100% of the time. There’s trash everywhere it’s disheartening as there’s a whole forest next to the complex and the litter will just end up there. They don’t clean the common areas anymore and packages are no longer handled by the office but left in the hallway which results in theft. Our AC broke and they didn’t fix it for over a month, they brought us an external AC and said they couldn’t fix it because it was too expensive to fix the AC. After basically arguing with the manager and sending her emails and calling everyday they sent an expert to fix the AC but it took them over a month. When I mentioned it was difficult to work from home because of the lack of AC the manager basically said that wasn’t her problem and said I should call my renters insurance and have them pay for a hotel. Compared to the owners before the ones today this complex is a nightmare, save yourself the trouble and do not move here !
Management is rude and won’t things that need repairs, in your apartment.
We stayed in the Charles Bellingham for a year. Just a week after moving we started experiencing issues with wood worms in our kitchen. We informed the maintenance but they pointed out that its a case of food bug infestation due to food left open. However we found bugs and worms in closet we didn't use. Instead of solving the issue the maintenance kept on pointing it's our fault. We couldn't use the kitchen cabinets for a year. It was a very unsatisfactory experience. The neighborhood is good but the place is definitely not worth the.money. While leavinig the apartment they made us pay for the carpet replacement for 2-3 minute spots. How can they expect the carpet to remain exactly same after a year of inhabitance. We even did deep cleaning of the apartment before leaving. In addition to that they made us pay $1500 for carpet replacement. I wouldn't recommend this place at all to anyone. It was a very poor experience.
At first glance The Charles looks beautiful. The office staff seem so friendly and helpful... but just wait. After you pass your required background check, you feel so safe and excited to move in - but just wait! In no time you'll discover that the gate is broken and wide open more than it's closed. But when it is closed, you have a better chance winning roulette than your code to let your visitors in working. Some of the office staff will tell you what you want to hear, and then do absolutely nothing. And the property manager might as well be on vacation 365 days a year because she is never in, doesn't follow-up, and ignores all calls and emails. And if you think the "24-hour emergency maintenance" sounds marvelous, let me let you in on the reality... My apartment flooded 3x in less than a year, actually 3x from July to December to be exact (none of which were related to, or my fault). Each occurrence took more than 5 minutes to get through to the emergency maintenance service, and the worst incident, took maintenance an hour to show up and almost half of my apartment was flooded by then. But wait, it gets better. My rent was not waived or even discounted for any of the occurrences, and I am STILL waiting on management to reimburse me for utility bills that were racked up from them trying to "dry it out".
I am a current resident at The Charles Bellingham and I absolutely love it! It is the perfect fit for my family right now, as well as my 2 dogs. My apartment is beautiful and it has all of the amenities one would want; dishwasher, garbage disposal, in-unit laundry (my favorite part), 2 full bathrooms...I LOVE having a master bath! The grounds are well kept and the maintenance staff is out numerous times a week cleaning up anything that may be laying around. There are waste bins for your dog's messes, along with free waste bags for the tenants to use. The complex offers so much - a beautiful dog park that was just renovated with fresh grass, has agility exercises for the dogs, tables for the tenants and it is fully fenced in. My dogs love going here and running free, and I love meeting fellow tenants and making new friends! The Charles also has a free gym with all of the equipment you would need, including an awesome Peloton spin bike! There's a theater you can use to watch movies and have parties, a business center, and a free conference room that can be booked for meetings! There is also a pool and a hot tub (which is HOT)! They just added a new patio area with 2 new grills as well! I love walking my dogs around the complex; it's a nice place for walks and is big enough to tire my pups out. The staff here are amazing. I've personally dealt with Shelly, Arthur, and Matt in the office. All have been super helpful with anything I needed. Shelly is super quick to respond and always works to find a resolution to any issue. On the maintenance staff, Mike has fixed everything for me since I've been here. I love having on-site maintenance to take care of anything that pops up. Every issue I needed to be fixed has been taken care of within 24 hours. If you're looking for laid-back living with everything you would want in a home, minus all of the upkeep that comes with owning a home, then look no further. The location is great, the grounds are great, and the people are great! Love living here!
I currently live here and the staff are very helpful. Mile in particular has been kind and helpful. The apartments are nice and the grounds are kept up. I enjoy living here its quiet and people are friendly
Had started looking at apartments in this area and this complex looked perfect - excellent ratings and reviews, and a great price point. After finding an apartment we liked we contacted the property (we live out of the state) and didn't hear back for several days. In that time the prices for the apartments jumped more than $300 and the listings on their site were changing so quickly that they weren't even correct. This may be a nice apartment complex, but there's nothing consistent about their pricing. Advice: if you see a price for an apartment you like then apply right then and there.
When your driving by our complex, it is pristine. The grounds are kept well, flowers and bushes everywhere. Behind my building is woods so when I open a window I can hear the birds, frogs at night, see lightning bugs in the grass. It is very peaceful. The management staff keeps us informed and gets back to us promptly when you place a call. The staff plan party nights for the kids & adults so we can get to know our neighbors. We are close to the highway ( cant here the noise ) for easy commute into Boston & Providence RI. We are close to all the amenities: grocery store, outlets, home of the Patriots football team, movies etc. I went from a 2700 square foot home to Jefferson Place. I am going on my 4th year!
I have never been more Impressed with the staff and maintenance in the Bellingham location. If something is wrong with an appliance they are there the next day..truly a wonderful place to live and I have two hard to please teens and they love it here...I hope to live here forever A very happy tenant.denise
I have lived at the Jefferson at Bellingham apartments for 13 months and have re-signed for another lease term. Compared to past residences I can genuinely say the Jefferson is great! The staff is very nice and always helpful. We've had to fill out a few work orders for normal items and they are always quick to respond and fix the issue. As most Massachusetts residents know, winter 2015 was horrible with snow and cold. The staff at Jefferson were always on top of the road conditions and walkways within the complex as well as making sure to reach out to residents to make sure there were no issues with ice dams. I really have no complaints with the accommodations and staff and can say they have been the best I've had in my renting experience. The only grievances really come down to some of the other tenants not taking care of communal space. There are issues with the trash becoming jammed as people do not run the compactor when they deposit their trash. This causes backups and other tenants continue to leave their trash on the side of the dumpster which makes it harder and longer to correct the issue. The other issue is with tenants not picking up after their dogs. There are plenty of designated areas, trash bins for dog waste, and bags provided by the Jefferson yet some owners continue to not pick up after their pets. I am a dog owner and have never left my apartment without a bag as I know our pets can be unpredictable. Even in the dead of winter I continued to pick up after my pet and throw it out in the designated areas. Those who don't make it annoying to walk my dog around the grounds especially at night as I cannot always see where we're stepping. With both issues management has tried to take steps to prevent and address them. I would definitely recommend the Jefferson at Bellingham!
The following are the top 10 reasons I love 4315 Jefferson Place: 10. The heat (with a lovely fireplace) is included. 9. We didn't have to get rid of our two cats. It's a pet-friendly place! 8. We have a spacious apartment with plenty of storage for the whole family. 7. The maintenance staff is very prompt and attentive when needed. 6. The pool and spa are wonderful to have on these hot and humid days! 5. We are looking forward to watching football on the big screen in the Theatre Room! 4. Full washer and dryer is right in our own unit. We get to do our laundry in the privacy of our apartment! 3. The business center has been helpful when our computer and printer haven't been cooperating--what an added feature! 2. We love to grill, and we can still enjoy grilling, as there are four gas grills available to use in our complex. 1. Our building is situated in a quiet area, and all the people we have met here have been friendly and welcoming! Even though we are new to the complex here at Jefferson Place in Bellingham, we LOVE it here! I would highly recommend living here to anyone who is single or has a family like we do. We are very happy we moved here!
As I started my apartment search , I came across the web page for " Jefferson At Bellingham" apartments. I was so excited when I went to the online Virtual viewing of the apartment. I just fell in love with the 9 foot ceilings( gave the apartment a classy look to it!) Very spacious size rooms and the crown molding was amazing also. I love to shop, so I could not believe how many different places there are in the town to get my shopping fix in !....as well as the adjacent towns! Many type of restaurant's are also a plus! November 2015 will be One year living in this wonderful town and peaceful complex. I have met so many other tenants that live here . I honestly have not heard one negative comment from any of them.....on the contrary, people just love residing here. The pool and Jacuzzi are so much fun as well as the gym and theater ( ALWAYS kept meticulous). It's nice just to go out for a walk around the grounds and admire the beautiful landscaping. Not to talk about the staff in the main office....they feel like family!! I could go on and on ....but to sum it all up. I'M HAPPY HERE AND HOPE TO LIVE HERE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME. Thank you for allowing me to give my input. Gina Issa
This is one of the cleanest places I have ever resided. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and are always well maintained. The apartment sizes accommodate a variety of individual or family needs. Having a full size washer and dryer inside my apartment home just added to the list of benefits, and I just love my garden spa bath tub! Windows turn in for easy access to cleaning, and any time I have had to file a maintenance request, it has been resolved immediately - most times before I even get home from work! The staff is friendly and communication with residents is quick and easy. A media/theater room, large pool w/jacuzzi, BBQ picnic areas, and a fenced in play area for your furry family members are just a few of the amazing amenities. Think of what you save just on gym memberships and going to the laundromat! What I love about Jefferson at Bellingham is while it is only a mile or so to a major highway, it is set in from the road and surrounded by pine trees giving you a feel that you are living in a cabin. It is a place I love coming home to.
I've been living here with my girlfriend at Jefferson at Bellingham since May of 2015 and it has felt like a home since day 1. We first scheduled a tour and from the moment we walked in we felt as if we knew this was the place for us. All of the management staff has been very approachable and responsive and they always have a genuine smile when they say hello to you when you're out and about in the complex. They were very knowledgeable and helpful with all questions throughout the tour too. The grounds are kept neat and clean and updates to the facility are frequent. As far as apartment living goes, the walls are all pretty well insulated so most of the time you hardly even know you have neighbors. The neighbors that you do have are all very nice and there never seems to be any trouble. It's also very nice to have your own pool and gym access and there is even a movie theater center that is available to sign out! For those of you that have pets the Jefferson at Bellingham is extreme pet friendly, there is even a dog park located in the facility. All in all it has been a pleasant experience living here at the Jefferson at Bellingham. It provides all the "home" feelings you could want.
This is one of the well maintained apartments in this area with easy access to lot of shopping, movies, restaurants. Although the rent is bit high, it is worth as the common area is very well maintained and snow is cleaned on time. This apartments have shared grills, well maintained swimming pool, on-site small theater/party room. The interiors of the apartment is very nice. The maintenance people for service inside apartments is very prompt, you get the work done is a day most of the times. The only down side of this apartment is the rent fluctuates a lot and rent is mainly based on what time of the year you sign the lease. It hurts when you will be paying more for your rent with a lease extension than a new lease for the same layout is available for a cheaper rent.
This is a perfect apartment for a pet owner. There are multiple dog stations at every building, a large fenced in dog play area and the staff are very friendly towards the animals. There are several amenities as well including a pool, spa, movie theater and media room. The apartments are very clean and they are always upgrading the grounds. It is 5 minutes from 495 and many major shopping facilities.
Jefferson at Bellingham is modern, practical apartment living. The individual units are quiet and spacious. The employees are friendly and helpful. My favorite aspect of living here is the company's reinvestment in the property. They recently repaved the parking lot and built an animal park. Management always seems to be trying to improve the overall quality. My favorite are the flowers that get planted every spring. It makes the entrance to the property seem like a garden. Interstate 495 is also right around the corner. Overall, Jefferson at Bellingham is solid recommendation for prospective tenants.
My wife and I have been here for almost 3 years and really feel at home. The staff has been very professional and helpful when needed. Maintenance of the grounds and apartment units is great. Any repairs were done the same day we reported the problem. The units are regularly inspected for smoke.co2 detectors and sprinkler system. Heating and cooling filters are checked and filters replaced. Very nice amenities and my favorite is having a washer and dryer in the unit. Walking around the complex is pleasant as it is a wooded area and the grounds are very well keep. During periods of snow, the plowing is done during the storm, not waiting until the end. The rent is not cheap and there was a large increase this year. But, everyone will have to decide what will fit their budget.
I love my apartment, it is well maintained, quiet, has a lot of ammenties, and easy access to all the things you need. Pet friendly, and great staff that is always there to help out and very friendly.
I have just recently relocated to Mass from Maine for business reasons. I had looked at apartments from Plymouth to Marlboro and from Fall River to Quincy. I was looking for a place that was New/Updated with many amenities and pet friendly, all of which I have found at Jefferson at Bellingham. Not to mention some very pleasant people to do business with in the administrative staff. They have been putting on great opportunities for the community to meet each other from a Summer Kick off BBQ to Popsicle Time. The maintenance staff have been very friendly and cordial to do business with also. Even while setting up to tow my car when I slept in on the day they were looking to pave the driveway, lol. But, in all seriousness they kept all of us well informed of the days we needed to be where and when, well ahead of time. Maybe they just thought my '99 Beetle wouldn't start. All in all it has been a great place with a great bunch of people maintaining it. The pool and workout facilities are all excellent and clean.
The apartment complex is very clean, it definitely gives a sense of community. The staff at Jefferson's are always attentive, and reply with any questions promptly, they helped me out even when I was out of the country! No other apartments in this area offers, a gym, pool, computer room and a small movie theater! The apartment itself is very nice, high ceilings, lots of natural light coming in and my favorite is the washer and dryer in-unit!! I have made the right decision to rent here, I am very pleased!
We moved to the area right before the record setting winter season where we received over 7 feet of snow. The complex was plowed every morning even before we woke up, including sidewalks. After the biggest part of it, complex staff were helping residents get their cars out from the big drifts. We have been very pleased with their responsiveness for anything we request service on. I love the layout of our one bedroom apartment which has a very large bedroom and good sized kitchen. Two things that many times become too small when living with two people and a dog in a one bedroom apartment! The front office staff is very friendly and come to hang out with my dog every time we come in to get a cup of coffee or ask a question, they offer her treats and watch her do her tricks. The maintenance staff even waves at you when you drive by and smile. I would say overall this has been a good experience. I am giving it four out of five because the rent seems high to me, but we are also new to the area and given the quality of care, they have earned it.
I have lived at Jefferson Place since, February. They are very nice, and helpful. The complex is kept well and maintained. Any questions or concerns are taken care of quickly and efficiently. The amenities are wonderful. Full gym and pool with hot tub. Doggies park. I would highly recommend this establishment.
Love this apartment complex! From the moment you take a tour to everyday living here. The staff is incredibly helpful and always looking for way to continue approving the property. The pool, 24hour gym, business center and theatre are all nice, updated, and clean common areas. They are also extremely pet friendly which is a huge bonus for us because we have a German shepherd. The apartment building themselves are kept clean and upkept with renovations. Our apartment is gorgeous with updated appliances, a fireplace, full washer and dryer and a balcony. Everything we wanted was checked off with this apartment. Great area as there are so many shopping complexes with restaurants, grocery stores, stores and entertainment all less than 2 miles away. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for apartments.
I have lived here for about 10 months and I must say it has been a good experience. The staff is very helpful and kind and the amenities are amazing. The fact that I have my own washer and dryer is a huge plus and I cannot miss to add the free heat and hot water. The maintenance guys are always timely and they leave my apartment just as they found it. The walls are also not too thin, I barely hear any noise from the neighbors. I highly recommend this place.
I moved into the Jefferson apartments 7 years ago and it was the best choice I ever made. They have an outstanding maintenance team that keeps the grounds and buildings impeccable. I never have to worry about changing a filter, any detector or even a light bulb….seriously! The key card access has always made me feel safe here. Some major perks are the gym, pool, central air and a commuter shuttle to the train. Having a washer /dryer right in my unit, saves so much time and money. You may pay a little more for these apartments but I promise you won’t be disappointed. This complex offers best of both worlds; it has all the amenities of a cozy, tranquil resort but you can also be at Home Depot in 2 minutes. What’s better than that? The only downfall is not having elevator access… BUT you will have great legs if you live upstairs.
the apartments are well maintained by the staff. They even change the light bulbs. It is a very friendly community. the apartments are only a few years old. there are flowers all over and you feel like you have a garden apartment. One benefit is they allow dogs.
This is really a good place to live in.The Building, parking lot and common area are very well maintained and the staff are incredibly helpful. We have nice pool area, media room for entertainment, fitness center. We also have a very nicely maintained security systems.
The apartments themselves are pretty nice. They are all pretty new and clean. The staff is really friendly and are for the most part very helpful. There are five buildings here, three floors in each, and it blows my mind that the women at the front office know my name and apartment number the moment I walk in. Heat is included which is nice, except that unless you live on the first floor, you will probably put your heat on maybe twice during the winter. The buildings get and stay very hot. Which is awesome if you live on the top floor. My electric bill is absurd because we have to constantly keep the AC on. The hallways on the 3rd floor are usually in the 80's. I know heat rises, but its ridiculous. Also, it is written in the lease agreement, but the really didn't emphasize that you are locked into staying here basically forever unless you give them TWO months notice before your lease is up. If you don't, you are charged a fee. They have a lot of pretty strict rules here.
This complex was my first choice when looking for a place to live close to work. Not only are the grounds well kept and beautiful flowers every year but the staff are friendly and always available to assist everyone. Other places I drove by, it was the flowers lining the area near the street that caught my eye. Not only are the grounds kept but also inside the buildings are well maintain. I love this place conveniently located now even closer to my new job.
I moved to Jefferson Place in Bellingham 5 years ago. I love it here, they keep everything maintained and up to date! I don't have to worry about doing anything, the landscaping and snow removal is taken care of, plus many other things are done. The staff is always very helpful and nice. The pool is beautiful, they have a great media room, the gym has everything you need for a great workout. Also the computer room is all updated. If you are going to rent I high recommend Jefferson..
After getting married, my husband and I started looking for a place to live. Jefferson was the first community we looked at, and after taking a tour, it was the ONLY place we looked at. We immediately knew this is where we wanted to live!! We moved here in January and got slammed with snow all winter long. They had a snow removal team here all day and all night! It's so nice to get up at 5 am for work, and not have to shovel your walk way and shovel your car out. With all the snow we had this year, the sprinklers in our building burst and we had to leave our apartment. The staff at jefferson was SO attentive and reacted quickly. Put us in a hotel, gave us a 250$ gift card for expenses, and kept us updated about the remodeling process every step of the way...They gave tenants the option to end their lease, or to wait until we could move back... We didnt have to think 2x, we waited a month to move back into our apartment. We love this place so much there is no way we were going to move! There is so much to say about The Jefferson at Bellingham. The staff is super professional and attentive. The property is very well maintained, every week there are people here to landscape. The hallways of every building are very clean, (the cleaning lady is such a sweety and keeps the hall ways smelling so nice!!) .... we love living here and hopefully never have to move!
No one likes reading long winded reviews so let me break down life at the Jeffersons for you! ( ) location, minutes from 495, route 140, & route 126 amenities (gated community, beautiful pool, movie room, 24/7 gym, business center) plenty of parking UPS/mailman are both super nice! they put a lot of work into the place (landscaping, seal coating the parking lots, painting the balconies) ((you feel like your rent money is well spent)) pet friendly (-) - paying rent :-(
Ever since my wife and I moved to The Jefferson Apartments we have received excellent customer service. The place is in great shape and is very well maintained. The best part is that it is also pet friendly!! Not only do they have doggie treats at the main office but they also have a dog park!!! We are very happy with our decision to move here.
I moved into this complex almost two months ago and I couldn't be happier. The apartment is very spacious and bright. We haven't had any issues with appliances or any feature of the apartment not working. Speaking of appliances - having a washer and dryer in the apartment is awesome.
I love being part of the "Jefferson at Bellingham" community because of its location. Friends and family are able to visit me with such ease because of its proximity to route 495. My commute to work since living here has become so much more enjoyable too. Being a resident makes daily life more manageable because the maintenance of my home is kept impeccable by the staff.
I have been an ecstatic resident at Jefferson at Bellingham for the past 7 years!! Being a resident here has provided me with the luxury and peace of mind that one only dreams of living in an apartment setting. The biggest driver for me with living here are the continuous attention to details, the quick availability of staff for urgent issues and most of ALL, the pet friendly environment. The grounds here are pristine and well-manicured!! I absolutely feel at home here and I am thankful daily to have found this place, and extremely happy to call it home.
