Property Ratings at The Chelsea
Management constantly shifts, but one thing stays the same. They do not care about you. They do not provide services. Property managers ignore you until you have to pay charges they weren't entitled to, unless you want to get a late fee on top of that charge. Any person you speak to in the office treats you like you're crazy because the place has repeatedly and systematically made every person feel like they need to fight tooth and nail to get anything from the person they're paying money to. It may not be a receptionist's fault, but they will tell you you don't have to pay when you do. They will lie to you and leave you high and dry with no way to a solution. Don't live here. It's drab and it's lifeless and it has the worst people you could meet if you hung out at Walmart for a month exclusively looking for the worst.
Moet On the first day, I moved in 03/01/2023 to see my apartment, my experience with looking inside the apartment; the apartment could have been cleaner. I did address the situation with the property manager, and she took care of that situation. If you address your problems and concerns with the property manager, she will try her best to take care of the situation. The Best Property Manager in Hattiesburg, MS. Shoutout to Catina and West who has been helpful and friendly during the move-in process.
HIDDEN FEEEEESSS! Maintenance comes in and out as they please but nothing is done. Things come up missing & the front office does nothing! Please do no move here!

Hi, there. Our team strives to provide a 5-star experience for all of our residents and transparency is extremely important to us. Feel free to reach out to us or come visit the clubhouse so we can try to improve your impression. -Team Chelsea
I am a mother of a college student. My son lived here two years and I am thrilled that he just moved out. It's unsafe, unkempt, smells like marijuana even inside his apartment (through the vents). He moved into a cesspool of an apartment. During move out, we cleaned his apartment thoroughly. Thank God we took pictures of move in day and move out day showing a stark difference because they have sent us a bill of $189 for cleaning fees. I have yet to hear from them after I've sent them all of the photos. It's ridiculous what they charged us monthly for his 1/4 of the power bill. It would be almost the same amount as my 4 bedroom house. Don't put your students here. It may look nice when they take you on a tour. It may look nice on paper. It's just not.

Hello, there. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your honest feedback-- we're disappointed to read about your son's experience living at our complex. Please have him reach out to us at his earliest convenience so we can help with any outstanding issues. -Team Chelsea
I lived here years ago before it was called "The Chelsea" and I hated it. There were roaches (big ones) all the time and nothing was done about it. I always paid my rent on time but one time they ended up losing my check supposedly and I had to pay rent plus late fees even after showing a receipt that my rent was paid. After I moved out they remodeled and during the remodel there was a hole in the wall that I didn't put there but somehow I ended up having to pay $200 or more for damage that I didn't do. Staff was rude all the time. THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!
I’m a easier pleaser type of person but I must say this was the WORST experience ever. When I moved in the apartment was disgusting! Refrigerator had mold all in it along with old food. I complained about it but no one came to clean it so I had to, not to mention inside the cabinets were so filthy with food from years ago. There was ALWAYS overages no matter what so you’ll definitely be paying $500+ monthly, which is a complete rip off. Nats are TERRIBLE. And they also have roaches. 0/10 recommend.
The Chelsea has nice very modern looking apartments. It has a great environment and I feel so safe living here! They also have a great staff. I definitely recommend living in the Chelsea!
The chelsea is a horrible place to live. It’s only been 2 months of me living here and there’s insects and roaches all throughout the rooms! I have Bed bugs marks all on my body from the bed mattress provided. Someone broken in my place. The key sensor for my front door barely works for me to even lock or unlock the door.
When I went to view the apartments she told me so many lies. The display doesn’t look anything like the other apartments. When my child was ready to move in I was totally disgusted with the place. Went to the office and they pretended they was so concerned, assured me the matter would be handled immediately. Until this day it hasn’t and can’t get anyone to return my call. Worse place to leave your child. Don’t do it, not worth your children living in roaches. Thumbs down to you Ayliah you had me really fooled.
This is definitely the best place to live in Hattiesburg, it was a little shaky last year but it has gotten much better. They have a really good maintenance team and the office people are so nice. Also they have fun events like Wild N Out and open mic night. Plus, the closet space is amazing and its affordable! I'm glad i decided to stay another year.
We have had nothing but trouble living here. from mold, noisy neighbors, and trash everywhere. The entire staff is rude and inconsistent. I absolutely hate this place. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
This is the second time I’ve been stolen from since living here. Had to move apartments half way through my lease because some guy kept trying to break in. Someone stole 60 dollars out of my car. People ride through on motorcycles as loud as possible at 3 am. I’ve heard what appears to be gunshots(?) on multiple occasions. These are just a handful of reason I’m getting out ASAP and never coming back
Let me list all the reasons why this is the last place you want to live. - Maintenance is awful, I put in 4 work orders to get my A/C and vents fixed during the summer and they said there was nothing wrong. Meanwhile i had to throw out multiple clothes because of humidity damage and mold growth. It was so humid that mold was growing on the walls. They all of a sudden Fixed the A/c the week the new 50 year old roommate moved in. - One night at 3am a blade from my ceiling fan flew off of the fan and hit my wall. It took them two months and multiple reminders for them to fix my fan. This was also while my A/c was broken. -The leasing manager Priscilla was seemingly drunk outside my apartment window screaming and laughing loudly with the head maintenance man at 4am. After 20 minutes of this I opened my window and told them I have work at 6am and that ill be calling the office if they don't leave. In a sarcastic voice Priscilla promised it would never happen again. - Everyone that works here is unprofessional, especially the maintenance always harassing the girls. -everyone here smokes weed and is super trashy. There is always people grouped up in the parking lot and causing problems and a lot of noise. - They have one single Dumpster that overflows before half the week is over with trash stacked all around it. - Overages are falsified and incorrect - anywhere is nicer than living here.... ask anybody
The Vie at Hattiesburg has great staff. Among the staff, there is a worker by the name of Paula. She works in the office. She is a very friendly face and can accompany any need you ask of her to the best of her ability. For instance, I came to her and asked about the temperature in the computer lab. She swiftly came up stair to lower the thermostat and gave me a bottle of water to keep cool.
Quick summary of my living conditions I experienced while living here: -crappy dryer -MOLD in bathroom -LEAKING CEILING -WATER leak/DAMAGE behind wall -broken toilet -SHATTERED WINDOW (I was offered NO accommodations for my troubles during these situations. When management would "fix" and issue it would be half done and they would leave a complete MESS in the area they were working on. No consideration or respect was given!) Where do I even begin with explaining all the events that have lead me to write this review. In short, my year of living at the vie was a struggle to say the least. If I could rate below 1 star I would. I originally found these apartments online, like you, and was attracted because of the price and location. I ignored the bad reviews and signed the 1 year lease. Looking back now, that was my biggest mistake. #1. First problem was a leak that appeared on the ceiling over my bathroom toilet. This started off as a blob in the ceiling & then broke way into a full on drip. Yes the maintenance were quick to look at it. However, after they patched the ceiling, they left a huge mess of sheetrock all over my counter, hairbrush, toothbrush, barsoap, and floor. I cleaned the mess up myself. #2. The second problem came unexpected with some neighborhood vandals busted a huge hole in my bedroom window. I called emergency maintenance & they came out & said they would replace the window. In the meantime they leaned a piece of plywood up against the window covered with a tarp. Sure this kept the rain out but this happened in the winter and i was FREEZING for weeks. It took them WEEKS for me to get an actual bedroom window. And during this time, i paid full rent and was offered no accommodations for having a huge hole in my room!! Also might i mention that they did not clean up any of the glass that shattered into my room. So guessed who cleaned up the mess again? You guessed it, ME! :) Go to part 2 to keep reading...it gets worse.
The apartments here are terrible. Roomates are awful. People come in and party in the parking lots. My fan blade flew off my fan into the wall at 3am and months later still hasn’t been fixed. My ceiling was leaking for 3 days and now has huge mold spot and crack. The A/C never works and the humidity in the apartment is unreal. I had to throw away all my hats because mold began to grow on them from the terrible humid air. Worst apartment experience I have ever had. Counting the days till I move out. Oh not to mention the leasing manager was being loud and drunk outside my apartment at 4am on a Monday night when I had work the next day.
Management is awful and is very nonchalant about the residents! They are not very honest people and they are not true to their word! They have a very serious roach problem!???? The overages for your electric bill is outrageous!
The management here does not do their job. They don't match roommates very well and they don't hear out complaints. Also, utility bills are always a ridiculous amount.
This place is great! they recently renovated their entire complex and it makes the entire place feel more like home. It is somewhat secluded and is also gated. The biggest perk is that Long Leaf Trace Trail is directly behind the complex which is an excellent place to just go for a quiet stroll in wooded terrain. There are so many perks for the residents such as a great pool, workout room, and entertainment area along with more perks. The staff is absolutely amazing and work with students that need to move in immediately. This community definitely feels like a home away from home for me
College student or just getting out on your own, this is the perfect location and apartment for you. Options of 2 or 4 bedroom, roommates for company, and great, low rent rates. Vie @ Hattiesburg provides many annuities for all residents. From the refreshing pool, volleyball area, business center, and gym no need to spend money on any memberships. Vie provides all residents transportation by the Shuttle to colleges they attend near by. "Experience a care-free collegiate lifestyle when you live at Vie!!"
This apartment is now Vie at Hattiesburg. These are quite nice apartments with great perks such as cable, water, and garbage are included and your own lease. The only thing is the cosigner and now the required rental insurance. Students are not rich so this is frustrating. But everything else is quite beautiful and peaceful. Room mate assignment is ok yet if you were like me had a roommate that I will never speak to again.. Just needs to be better with the assignments.
